Love this one, very well said. What's really cool to watch is his RU-vid chan growing, and acceptance of him as a person and athlete transcending MLB. There are more on his side now than ever before, and I think that number will grow the more they see what Trevor is really about. Japan is lucky to get to enjoy watching this next chapter in his career - and it's gonna be fun to see how many folks end up trying to find a way to watch more Japanese games as a result. It should be noted that the courts in South Korea operate differently than in the US Over there, you're essentially always going to get a guilty plea because their courts are more backfilled than ours are and, in Bae's case, label certain crimes as low-priority. So essentially they told Bae to take the guilty plea and pay 2mil Won or fight it in court for an uncertain amount of time which prevents him from going overseas or doing anything publicly. Not taking any side of the matter, but adding additional context.

@lalilulelo.n.stitch
@lalilulelo.n.stitch Год назад
@@jbj7599 I wouldn't know much about Japan, but in South Korea and how their law works, instead of a jury of your peers that decide whether or not your guilty, for most crimes committed in SK, guilty verdicts are sent down by judges. Basically, the defense and prosecution present their evidence to a lone judge who then decides whether or not to side with the defense or prosecution. The prosecution and defense are both allowed to conduct their own investigations into the crime, but since the prosecution is paid by the government and the defense by the... Well, defense, you end up with the prosecution with an uneven hand. Not to mention that Domestic Abuse is actually pretty prevalent in SK since they didn't have a comprehensive law code for it since 2020. Therefore you have a system that's heavily favored for guilty verdicts just to get these cases through. Which harkens back to Bae. If he wanted to, he could've fought the accusations, but it would've meant he would have to pay unknown amounts of money for a defense while on a minor league contract (keep in mind that as these allegations came out, he was waived by the Atlanta Braves).
@christianvittorio

Here's the thing though, if what you're saying is true and the context changes everything, how come context isn't being taken into account in Bauer's case? I know you're not taking sides, I'm just adding onto this that it's true that we have to take additional context into account, but IF the MLB took into consideration what you're saying then how come the context is important in Bae's case but is being completely ignored in Bauer's innocent case?

Manfred deserved to be called out. He is a moton. He runed the minor league system, by cutting down leagues; let other players get slaps on the and Ozuna, Clevinger; but when his feelings were hurt by being called out, he took it personsl, which, if thevowners had any balls, they would have reprimanded him. Bauer is a cool individual, who just wants a level playing field. This happens in everyday businesses too. When you expose unfair or safety practices, the boss wants it covered up, so they black balled him. But he's getting the last laugh. The Japanese fans love him, and he will be a star for the BayStars. Plus his agent, Rachel Luba, is totally first class. She turned the sitch into a total positive.

As a "not in the know" european baseball fan, this was an interesting watch. Even without having had prior knowledge to the background you just provided, Bauer clearly struck me as one of those sports personalities bound for controversy. That frustration throw against the Royals (and i can feel for the guy for what he had gone through there) was just one example. To be honest, i always thought sports sort of "needs" folks like this ever now and again. You'll see them in football (soccer here) too, or in any other discipline really. Yeah, i can get angry about them myself (in the moment), but tend to take a somewhat more relaxed view on it later on. Of course, there's on the field shenanigans, and then there is out of field violent or otherwise criminal behavior (which i certainly never will take a relaxed view on). I admittedly don't know enough about the details here, therefor i won't offer any personal opinion on Bauer's current situation. Thank you for the background info you provided here. While it can never be completely untainted by personal opinion, you clearly did your utmost to present it as purely fact based as possible. And you succeeded in doing that, methinks. She had sex with again two days later after the supposed rape of that helps add more context. Honestly he’s obviously innocent of what he has been accused of. Should you have rough sex with random strangers even if they consent to It? From my moral perspective? No, you kind of get why you deserve that comes from It, but legally? Nothing wrong with it. The problem is he’s being held up to a MORAL standard, rather than the one we all collectively agree on as a society. Also the moral standard seems to constantly change on a whim depending on who and how it benefits. Now i know this is sensitive, but there’s plenty of players who support BLM which has done nothing other than make the founders of it millionaires and get cities burnt down, agree or disagree, that’s MY moral standard. These people actively took part and encouraged a movement that is bigger than them and what they realize, yet they did so for their own personal gain? Again, this is MY standard, and I see it way worse than a guy who beat up a chick who literally asked for it, then came back for more two days later. Yet it would be ridiculous for me to suggest blm supporters get suspended. It’s a double standard leading to a slippery slope. There’s plenty of situations like this happening in our joke of a country. Yet I point it out and people will call me the same names as them. Like I don’t agree with what they’re doing, but who am I or any of us to judge other than the system of law and order that WE give power to. @BrianKoontz
@BrianKoontz Год назад
@@runvnc208 No, I don't think so. Compare Bauer to the sex scandal of Julian Assange. Assange felt his life slip out of his control, he became more and more stressed and scared. Therefore he engaged in sexual behavior that a relaxed and composed Assange would have refrained from. MLB was Bauer's employer - he was a whistleblower with respect to MLB pitchers doctoring baseballs. He was concerned about his future, he took out his stress on a young woman, and that gave MLB the excuse it needed to get rid of him. If MLB actively set Bauer up there would be a serious risk that the setup would be uncovered and MLB would lose a lot of fan support. This way, MLB can claim that the problem is Bauer, while taking advantage of the help that Bauer gave them by instiuting new umpire checks on pitchers' hands. It's business as usual. None of this is to excuse the behavior of Bauer or Assange. Both of these people chose their actions knowing the possible consequences. Many people do things even more dangerous without resorting to sexual misbehavior. It's not a question of selecting a good guy and a bad guy with respect to Bauer and MLB, but understanding the full situation.

And MLB is afraid of being labelled racist by applying harsh punishments to racial minorities in baseball(dominican players/asian players). Like why do you think MLb makes an effort of overcompensating their look of how politically progressive/forward diverse and representative they are, like every other major american corporation?

If you head over to the momentum youtube channel you can see what he is really about. Just a dude that loves baseball and has a lot of great pitching tips. MLB is just butthurt he blew the lid on the spider tack cheat code pitchers were using. Trevor wasnt wrong. You got guys like Garret Cole who through an average of 2500 spin rate one year, then all of a sudden on his free agency year he jacks it up to 3000+ and gets that 200m+ dollar contract. When people are making money like that off a substance it should be called out. It seems like pitchers have figured out how to use something else again without getting caught because a lot of spin rates are back up to 3000+. You can see the pattern: Before the checks 3000+, when the checks started everyone dropped to 2500-2800, now back up to 3000.
