Today was Ellie's mock driving test. On the driving test we covered 20 minutes of independent driving, following road signs. We also cover forward bay parking, double mini roundabouts, roundabouts, country roads, junctions to emerge right and left and meeting traffic and giving way when when need be plus left and right turns into side roads.

Great commentary driving, I had my test this week (and passed) the examiner said how much they like the commentary driving it really helps them know what you are seeing, thinking, planning. I failed my 3 mock tests but learnt so much from them and my instructor helped me to work on my faults.

I’m still watching these to keep my driving to a good standard hopefully. I’ve been waiting months for my car….best of luck for your test. Don’t worry about failing mock tests, it gives you and your instructor good insight into what you need to work on.

This scenario highlights, that no two tests are ever the same.. 10 secs earlier, 10 seconds later.. Then it would likely be a pass.

She knew a car was following close behind but I wonder if subconsciously she was going slightly faster than she might have otherwise chosen. She knew about the arch bridge pinch point and encountered a worst case scenario oncoming vehicle with a slightly too much speed on particularly with someone behind which should make you slow more for the anticipated hazard as you cannot brake as firmly.
