New DAWless dude here, i started my journey out with a MPC One as a workstation for making beats on and quickly felt i needed synthesizers to express more in my production. Since i mainly will make old school Hip Hop and was raised on Pink Floyd i naturally gravitate to the Moog sound and as good as the Sub 37 sounds - it feels unpractical to spend $2000 on a first synth. Behringer will hold down the fort until i can save for a Sub 37 fo sho! Thx for a sweet comparison!

Agree 100%. On my earlier vids I've rocked and battered a Model D as it worked and did what I wanted. When you're ready, you'll fee when it's worth trying out a new or better synth.

This is a really good comparison! What are you using to record or how are you recording the Moog and Behri D directly to the MPC Live? Eye would love to be able to do this same thing with my Moogs and other instruments instead of sampling everything and chopping it up. Any help will do! And thanks!
@AnalogKitchen

Nothing gets recorded into the MPC. It only triggers the MIDI

Great jam. Can you please explain to me, how your kick and bass are playing on top if each other and they don’t get destroyed by phase cancellation?
@AnalogKitchen
@AnalogKitchen Год назад
You need to look into even/odd harmonics and transients in the upper harmonics of your root frequency. The cancellation still occurs but the higher transients make it so that you’re focusing elsewhere

Interesting video, I have a Subsequent 37 and a PolyD. My PolyD gets a certain bass tone I really like, and find myself using a lot. My recommendation if I may, for you videos, is after the introduction to switch the second camera from your face to a close up of the synth you're adjusting. More editing work, but it's a lot better for viewers who like to see what you're manipulating.

ALL SYNTH'S are famous for something in their time.. but dollar for dollar I'm going with behringer and run it though a pre setup... But shot out to the legends who always set the standard.

Affordable doesn't always win. In most B-Winger boxes it does but again... It's never the car. It's the driver...Thanks for commenting

Ahh nice, I must have missed this video when you uploaded it. Now it comes at the perfect time as I'm starting to consider getting the sub 25 or 37. I already have the Model D, though. So I really want to make sure it makes sense. I don't play live and have it hooked up to Ableton. So modulation is not a feature I need from the moogs. What's your opinion on the multidrive? Is it very important for the Sub 37 gritty sound? That's the one thing I don't see on any other bass-capable synths.
@AnalogKitchen
@AnalogKitchen Год назад
Which one did you get? The subsequent is a monster with a lot on board. The Model D sounds like a boss but you have to find it’s sweet spot. Look for my earlier vids. You see me with the Model D in full effect
@mw7851
@mw7851 Год назад
@@AnalogKitchen I didn't buy one yet. But I'm leaning towards the 25. I'll check out your review, thanks for the tip. I love the Model D but I know what you mean, the sweet spots for the kind of bass I like seem to be much bigger with the subsequents..
@AnalogKitchen
@AnalogKitchen Год назад

You can beef up a bit bottom end on Model-D by using feedback at around 6-7 as other utuber pointed out

Will look into that! Thanks for sharing
@wackerburg

Hi, what do you mean by that? Feeding the phones signal back into the external input? Cheers! 😀
@Sonikbytes
@Sonikbytes Год назад
@@wackerburg A known technique to create feedback distortion /OD to get more crunch by feeding the output signal into input. Nice thing is Model -D by Behringer is already pre-wired to do that you just flip the switch and turn the knob to about 6-7 in the mix stage. It relay works if done right. In case you didn't already know , wink-wink.

Imho they both sound great, especially in the hands of someone who knows what they're doing! I personally own a Model D (which I bought used) and am extremely pleased with it for what I paid. There is no real comparison in terms of price. I don't think anyone here would try to argue that if cost was no issue they'd still take the Boog over the Sub37. But Behringer is consistently putting out synths that are unbeatable value *for the $ you pay*. And someday, when the dollas are rolling in from your production career, you can always upgrade!
@AnalogKitchen

It's like the Model D is the Robin Hood of synths, giving us great sound at an affordable price. Who needs to be rich when you can have a Behringer in your setup? 😉
