a satire?
The agony these people go through now
Will move them closer to God’s pain and grace.
How cautiously they tread, when told to bow
Before the tortured creature on the cross.
The sacrifices made by Christ for them,
Those torments he endured to ease their guilt,
Are something they refuse to comprehend,
Far too concerned with life, to find the faults
Embedded in all human history;
The sins of Eve, the disobedience
That still must be atoned for. I believe!
And my belief will be my best defense
Against the holy terror of a plague
That’s Satan-sent, and quelled by given praise.
