The fact that its just you and your captain in a ghost city surrounded by hundreds of enemies makes this mission one of the most epic out all of the CODs
Man...I remember playing this mission when I was in elementary school and was so scared. The idea of two soldiers against an entire army, sneaking through made my heart race. This game and mission will always hold a place in my heart, so iconic. This is what call of duty needs to get back to- missions and settings that stick out in your mind
Gotta likes when a Remaster does things like this. You might goof up and accidentally killed your future teammate when you’re trying to kill a future villain
@@arjusarauis9901it’s so good. Yuri is also in “no russian” if you go back and look down the escalators you can see him pass out with the pistol in his hand.
I don’t know who will see this. But this is easily one of the best missions I’ve ever played. In any video game. The music, the city, the wasteland of Chernobyl. It’s all just so perfect.
@@Kai-tn4yx Even though it's mostly really linear you still have certain choices though, you can take out some enemies or just sneak past them and can even take out the helicopter that flies over you early in the level. It doesn't make sense in the context of this mission but it's still an example of a choice to do things your own way. The wild dog at the end even as well. If you want a less linear mission you only have to play the two levels before and after this flashback.
What's even more amazing was that this mission was made by one, yes ONE person, who wanted to add this last minute with the approval of a higher up who loved it so much they made sure it was added to the game. Crazy
Seriously? One man is responsible for creating the one level that maximized the amount of scripting that the game was capable of? Wow. The more you know I guess.
He also made No Russian. Apparently he worked on All ghillied up by himself because he didn’t want to waste time to explain the code nightmare that it was to other people.
The fact that I hear noises of people talking and children laughing in the background really emphasizes on how Pripyat is a a literal ghost town. It’s pretty scary
Arguably the most nostalgic, iconic, and unforgettable mission in the franchise. I love the environment of this mission, it’s one peaceful ass mission, love every feel. Also I gotta point out that 5:10 is legendary to me.
This dude must've started with this game lmao.. there wasn't much revolutionary about this mission. Btw, that's the word you guys are looking for.. not revelation. I mean.. metal gear solid was doing shit like this for years just to name a single title.
People don’t understand how crazy this mission was when this game came out in 2007. Call of Duty 4 will forever be one of my favorite games ever. You had to be there.
this is one of my favourite missions in all the FPS games I've played. The intensity, atmosphere and story of this mission is incredible. If only the new COD games were just like this :/
@@mattatenta1444 I'm just making fun of comments like "COD PREDICTED THIS" on videos that portray utterly nothing of what is currently happening. Other than simply being set in the same location.
@@AFGuidesHD i mean to be fair. The fact that you had the Russian Army in Ukraine territory without NATO finding out kind of shows how crazy war can be sometimes.
Same. I always wished they would make a CoD only in Chernobyl. I repeated it so many times. And then i found out about the Metro Series, which felt like this mission packed in a whole game.
@@Nothing-of2pmYeah it tries very hard to copy aspects but didn't really hit there especially concerning since all ghillied up there has never been a complete stealth mission in the franchise. Remake MW2 was kinda meh
29:18 I like how they all went prone to try and hide in the grass rather than immediately knowing your exact position and shooting at you. Nice attention to detail.
@@billyjoemasterclass605 No disrespect to British people I'm just saying the British missions in cod 2 were fucking annoying. It was so repetitive. Stop getting your panties in a twist.
@@natedogfisher9408 what? This mission is great! Its slow and not a action movie scene like the sequels and it shows that even call of duty has a bit of realism in it!
I remember the first time I played this game, I thought, 'Screw it, I'll play with headphones'. And that was the mission before this I think, and it was evening time, and then this came up, my mind......was blown. First time through, no deaths and pure ambiance, good job creators.
Maybe they've souls are forever trapped there and bound by invisible chains created by the disaster who knows but that is a cool but dark detail Also the gust of wind before the hind flies past could represent the nuclear blast from the reactor melt down
I been hear them on the Original Version sounds like we're hearing Ghosts out there besides that place has been hit hard ever since the the nuclear meltdown
Toxic if you’re talking about current Halo (Halo 4 and 5) yes I agree with you it’s a fucking joke. If you’re talking about old Halo (Halo Combat Evolved to Reach) I have to question your mental sanity because they are some of the most well made and incredible games ever made.
What would hapen if it was just like black ops 3? More than half of the cod community didnt understand bo3 ! You wouldnt even play it. And why does no one like codww2 for fucks sake. Play that until 2019. No one didnt like mw3,ghosts,advanced warfare, blops 3 and infinite garbage. Whats the point of making cod games if no one likes them. They could just sell the IP to EA and watch the world burn.
Mw3 was shit becaus it wasnt like mw2. Ghosts was shit becaus of the bandwagon. Advanced warfare-bandwagon(haters,battlefield elitist, etc.) Blops 3-bandwagoners Iw(memers and bandwagoners) Ww2(marketing) Blops 4(no campaing and the cursed black ops pass) I dont realy know what shit could hapen with cod 2019.
The atmostphere, the gameplay, the game script, and love the way they add the little detail like sound effects in. All great. The best mission of all time
ismail amra well of course since these said places aren’t abandoned but it’s pretty damn close. I live in Houston, TX, and this past weekend I went out at night and as I was driving through the medical district it was all empty. It was creepy asf man. Literally not even the homeless were out, it was all empty. I know it’s nothing like Chernobyl. But dude it was so creepy...
I remember watching my cousin play this mission when I was younger. Eventually that copy of CD4 ended up and my possession and I remember distinctly playing this mission on a warm summer evening with the window open. I think what makes this mission special is it’s the only mission in the game where stealth is required the entire mission. Not only that but the intro cutscene of the game sets the stage by telling you the story of the city so everything before this just builds up to this mission.
"Stay low and move softly" *standing completely upright in the center of the doorway.* It's okay they can't see us in our ghillie suits. We're invisible. *bullet passes* nothing to worry about.
Played this on Veteran. Still have the scars from back then. Oh how many times I restarted just when u need to walk to the helicopter carrying MacMillan. Super rage mode: Activated.
@@TheKingz123 bro I have like 6 missions left that i need to play on veteran, including this one, ugh I die way too many times Edit: I somehow finished this mission on veteran, the waiting for the helicopter was definitely a pain in the ass. Now I only need to finish the "No fighting in the war room" mission which I believe is much harder than this
Microboii Islander no Russian just proved the developers did not Give a shit about what people would think, and that’s why it was good. Normally, video games, especially now, wouldn’t put that out but they did it regardless
@@eisleyism No, The Ferris Wheel seen in Black Ops III is known as "The Singapore Flyer" and is located in Singapore hence the name. This mission takes place in Chernobyl, an abandoned city in Ukraine.
