If you like essence warden then try prosperous inkeeper. Same thing but the extra ramp is really clutch!

@@robertlazenby5903 It's not bad but not great either; Essence Warden is a 1 drop, has tribal synergy (two strong ones at that,) and triggers on the enemies creatures as well, not just your own like Prosperous Innkeeper. Much more competitive potential.

To put it politely, whats your game plan without yawgmoth? serious decks will address yagmoth through removal/aggro beefy/counterspells…you dont have, hence not tournament material…the zombie shell/voidwalker/blood artist does have that aggro/recurring punch built into it

Weird comment. Most versions of this deck don't run Scavenging Ooze and only run a single Blood Artist. Yawgmoth is easily the best card in the deck; the deck would be very different and far worse without him. Also, wtf is "beefy aggro?" This deck usually crushes creature based aggro decks because it spews out chump blockers and then just kills you with the combo, or Yawgmoth wipes the board, etc. Undead Augur is a card that sees virtually no play in modern. You vastly overrate Scooze. Better than Endurance?! Please. Most Yawgmoth players have switched to Unlicensed Hearse. Scooze is a good card, but not always essential. The game plan without Yawg is that of a crappy midrange deck. You accelerate with your dorks, go wide with Grist and then try to beat them down with your second rate beaters. Grist ult can also kill if left alone. "Serious decks will address Yawgmoth?" Tell that to all the players top 8ing and 5-0ing with the deck. You seem really confused.

@@asdfghjkl2261 Not confused at all…mono black Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, liliana, voidwalker, bob. meathook massacre, fatal push, thoughtseize et al easily beats yawgmoth….sheoldred has supplanted yawgmot…easily also…combine that with dauthi voiwalkers and lilianas and is gg…you dont seem to follow at all the new developments….the deck relies solely om yawgmoth…anything that punishes card draw or has graveyard hate breaks the yawgmoth combo…not such a hard deck to beat actually…that means sheoldred/voidwalker/meathook massacre ends things….also yagmowth on its own on the batterfield is weak…needs a ton of support to make it functional, something sheoldred does not need

@@II-kd1gi Ooooooh, pray tell about these "new developments!" Last I checked, Dark Confidant and Meathook Massacre are not even relevant in the format. I'm not sure either of them is even seeing play. Sheoldred IS seeing some play, however... as a one-of in Yawgmoth decks LOL. During the Modern Preliminary of 2023-01-23, Yawgmoth was 7.14% of the metagame in this particular tournament, which have got the 4th place. Where are your undead augurs at this point?
