Nice job. I used to use an old 1940s era mill similar to that one you have, where I used to work. Thanks for the tip on aluminum die grinding bits. I have ruined a few bits meant for steel myself.
That's great man. I've got a lot of old iron in my shop that still works like new. Dipping your carbide bit in that nozzle dip makes a huge difference even with carbide steel bits if your in a pinch.
Good question, to be honest, I think a mill may be the only approach. You might be able to hole saw it if your careful then widen it up with a die grinder... but that might be to sketchy. Ill have to think about this, I am sure there is a way.
Worse then the pain it the ass of loc-tite, is the dealing with damaged threads in the heads. I say good call on the windows for access and check’em between laps…
