RacerX X-man- I received my CORSA Sport exhaust and just had it installed today, but I have to be honest- even though I opted for the SPORT over the EXTREME because I didn’t want to go crazy, I’m a bit underwhelmed and thought (expected) it would be a bit louder. Compared to stock and “sport” mode in my RT the Corsa cuts any drone completely out-ZERO drone inside; and honestly I don’t feel/hear a difference much at all now when I hit Sport mode to “activate the exhaust”. Thoughts? I respect you and your opinions as always--
Just to clarify-- when I had the stock I could definitely hear a difference between sport mode and regular; however now with the CORSA SPORT there is hardly a difference
Throttle response & exhausts on the scat are perfect from factory. Bigger rims & tires & leave it the fuck alone & enjoy it . Want more power? Get a hellcat widebody. My opinion, i’ve owned 2 scats, 1 hellcat. Have a ‘19 GT now. I’ll take a charger scat all day long
Really enjoy your videos, I have a 2017 Charger Daytona. It came with a upgraded CAI that has a cylinder type filter. Any comments on that CAI? I did put an after market filter on it, has a little better air flow. But that was only because the original was a mess after I tried to wash it, didn't realize it was paper not cloth.
Peter Scott .. the conical air filters work well.. that’s what I have on my shaker Scatpack .. although there really is no difference on the dyno between those and the flat filters. Most of these filters are not designed to get wet so you may need a new one
What about lowering? The Mopar kit doesn't work with the active damping suspension. Is there one you'd recommend (2019 Challenger Scatpack WB)? Future video?

Great video, the best way I found to increase performance of my 2019 R/T was I traded it in for a 2018 ScatPack. I am 59 years old and driven a lot of cars but my 2018 ScatPack is by far my favorite car I have ever driven.
I kinda wish I had my scat back, I traded it in on a Hellcat. I love my Hellcat BUT, the Scat was way more fun driving around town and on country roads. You can use all the power in the scat. You can’t do that in the Hellcat it has to much torque and steps out on you really fast. I’m actually afraid to hit the throttle in the Hellcat. Except on freeways 👍🏽
My 2018 Scat Pack Shaker 6-speed Challenger made 425 at the wheels stock, on a Dynojet. I put underdrive pulleys, eight horsepower, long tube headers, 10 horsepower, fastman throttle body 6 horsepower, 93 octane aftermarket tune, for a final result of 464 horsepower at the wheels on a Dynojet. For approximately 40 horsepower at the wheels for close to $4,000 with all of the labor the parts and everything Plus unlocked computer. Basically $100 per horsepower. I also hand ported my stock intake myself, basically cleaning up the factory poor casting. I ended up selling the car and buying a Hellcat. Lesson learned.
Where do you live? I'm in Arizona and on a mustang dyno, mine put down 440hp and 413tq, and all I have done is mid muffler delete and k&n drop in filter, mines also a 6spd
@@MrFpsdestroyer I live in Minnesota, stock my car made 425 horsepower and 426 torque. Dynojet 248. Your horsepower is slightly higher and your torque is slightly lower. Sounds like the difference is the dyno not the car, similar numbers overall., my goal was to run an 11-9 with the car, my best was a 12.2. Some better weather and a little more practice on the launch and I think I could have gotten it. Good luck with your 6-speed 392, I really do miss mine because it was so fun to drive on the street.

Thanks for the Video. As a Scat pack owner myself I find the Car right from the factory awesome. I'm an old 80's-90's 1/4 mile guy and loved tuning and making things faster. But this Scat Pack is just awesome right from the factory. I think a good set of tires, maybe the Hellcat Lower air box and tube, a Hell cat filter or even a K&N Drop in and this thing is good to go. My Thinking is if I wanted something faster I would save for a Hellcat. Factory warranty and your stupid fast right out of the box. The Scat pack with the right driver conditions can pull a low 12 high 11 second in the 1/4 mile which to me is amazing and I have to spend almost 10k on my 87 Grand National to pull 11's with it. The Scat pack you even if you run your street tires can drop deep into the 12's. nothing worse then buying mod's that don't add power. Sure you can put a cat back on and get a different sound but honestly the Stock Scat pack Exhaust is simply amazing. It sounds aftermarket. So maybe I'm overly impressed with the Scat Pack coming from Late 80's cars like the Firebird and Grand National. Even the Vettes of my time can't compete with a stock Scat pack. Incredible what you can buy today and how much power these cars have. We live in such good times
I remember waaay back when before i knew about cars i went to the philly auto Show and i looked at the cold air intake of a scat pack and i asked my dad if that was the super charger. He laughed for a solid 4 minutes. I mentally face palm when i think about this memory. When you showed the air intake I instantly thought about that.
I can vouch for the pedal commander. It does help with reaction and is highly adjustable, but it's dangerous. Twice the thing made me throw a code and cut power. The second time I almost got creamed by a big diesel...there won't be a third time. Take my advice, the things are dangerous and not worth it. And they do not back their customers. I was ignored when I contacted them...
Thanks RacerX for another awesome video. I put the Pedal Commander on my 19 Scat after I had it nearly 6 months and I personally noticed a big difference. There is definitely NO HP gain but the throttle response is way better.
I put one on and love it. I bought a tune and had Jay Greene tune it when I did this I took off the pedal commander. I noticed right away I no longer had that take off I had with it on so I reinstalled it. Some say it tune you won’t need it. I found out with a tune and pedal commander I’m much happier. RacerX, you're right on regarding these mods that just don't really work. I kinda' see them as snake oil with a little sugar added. I've had Corvettes, Trans Ams, and others, but the Scat Pack has probably the best naturally aspirated engine performance by design from FCA. I have the Hellcat lower airbox and head light tube and Hellcat rims with the Pirelli 275/40 tire. Even though it will still smoke 'em, it does handle a little better with these rims and tires. And as you stated, the Hellcat airbox does indeed drop the IAT and I suspect help keeps down heat soak. I certainly enjoy my Challenger PCP SP! Great vid once again! You and yours be well my friend!
As far as the Pedal Commander... agree too many failures. I went with the Sprint Booster and as you have stated that it doesn't make it faster but with the lag of the electronic throttle response reduced or eliminated (based on the settings) you do end up getting up to speed faster. The best I was able to do 0-60 in my Scat before the Sprint Booster was 4.3s and now I'm down to 3.9s.
Appreciate your time going over those points. The only thing I've done is the mid muffler delete for the sound. To me, it sounds just as good as a corsa, borla or any other exhaust system for alot less money! I get alot comments on the exhaust and pretty happy with it. But one of the points you've brought out some many times before....is do your research! The Scatpack pretty much comes out of the box for what it was made to do without having to add mods!
So according to this, a cat-back system does not add power. Then he adds a cat-back to his Scat Pack and picks up 8 whp. I've also seen contradicting dyno tests of CAI that DID add power.
Thank you for the tips , I have a stock 2019 scat pack( challenger) and it’s not cheap having it at the age of 18 🤦🏽♂️. Just looking what I should do to it and I’m glad I didn’t buy that cold air intake I was looking into 🙏🏽. I was thinking of going with the hellcat air box instead because I want to be smart with any mods I put it on it . Need to be smart with money spending and mods for scats aren’t cheap !

Should be wise with any mods. Some are pointless, some are accessory mods that work best with another mod and are otherwise near useless. For some cars, the factory airbox is the best you'll get. For example; I'm a huge Crown Vic fan, the 05 1/2+ CVPI has basically a mercury maueader airbox. There are 600+ hp crown vics rocking the factory cvpi or maurader box. All you need is a freer flowing filter. Panel filters and cone filters have basically the same surface area anyway. Cone filters are more for packaging than more flow.
I agree 100%. Have a 15 Scat Pack. Best and only mod was putting on sticky 275 tires. If I want some serious power upgrades it gonna have to be trading up for a Hellcat.
It’s funny I’m listening to this vid and sayin my head, yep, yep, Everything exactly the same as my 6th gen camaro, except the e85 part, that I can do pretty easily. I actually would have purchased a charger in 2017 when I bought my camaro ss, I just got a better deal on the Chevy and at that time the srt I wanted was really expensive. Still love them though.

RacerX I'm new to the Mopar family I picked up a new 2019 charger 392 stars and stripes edition, I been reading a lot about a must mod oil catch cans but I don't want to mess with my warranty can this mod mess up some of the factory warranty

That being said, I disagree with a couple of your assertions: * a cold air intake will add a small amount of horsepower (i.e., a few units) and torque (i.e., a few pound feet) on the dyno (i.e., volume and speed of of airflow is directly proportional to power output), [ inherent assumption - filter must be high flow, such as "Green Filter", "K&N", etc., and air/sound baffle box must be removed. ] * a cold air intake also adds a beautiful note to the exhaust (i.e., a throaty, muscular, V8 zound), and * a cat back exhaust (i.e., with a larger than stock pipe diameter, and with Mandrel type bends) will add a small amount of horsepower (i.e., a few units) and torque (i.e., a few pounds feet) on the dyno (i.e., volume and speed of airflow is directly proportional to power output). [ inherent assumption - the muffler must have high flowing and free flowing characteristics. ] Let us assume that both of the above add 5 to 10 wheel horsepower and 10 to 15 wheel pound feet. All good points. I have an intercooled procharger on my 392 and gained 200 hp with stock bottom end. 6psi installed 2016 four years and 12k miles later no issues.
@@jaredmorgan5007 as long as you don't exceed 6psi gross boost you should not have problems. You can probably run a smaller pulley and gain 2 more psi and probably another 6 wrhp but now you are putting more stress on it so the more you run it hard the more problems you will have.
I agree with majority of what you said here. 2023 Swinger Charger HP Tuners Tuned on E85 since 900 miles 775cc FIC Injectors JLT CAI JBA Long Tubes JLT Air/Oil Separator Larger TB Made 494 WHP 512 TQ it’s not huge seeing that my car specifically baselined at 445 WHP but still a 50 horse increase is pretty good for sub 2k in parts and easy labor.
We put the hellcat lower airbox and a k&n drop in filter on our '20 Challenger RT Scat Pack....awesome mod. IAT's are usually within 5 degrees of ambient temps. Just did this install in February, so I'm not sure how much the temps will vary once the ambient temps are 90 or 100. We took it to a car show a couple weeks ago, the temp in the morning was about 62, iat was 65.
My 2021 Daytona 392 came with a CAI with the blue opened mopar air filter; I find it hard to believe that dodge would include that bolt on and it not improve performance.
I just watched a vid by LHTPerformance and the JLT intake added 10hp on the dyno. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen the before/after runs. Shorty headers on the car picked up about 10HP as well but that's a LOT of money and labor for just 10 HP. The cost of headers and labor would cover a good tune.
Mopar actually sells a CAI for the 6.4l hemi that claims an increase in HP (I think it's 10HP...?) My experience is CAI + tune adds HP Pedal/throttle boosters are the worst! They don't add HP but make the car lunge and is dangerous to park, leave at the car-wash, drive onto a lift/ramp etc. I damaged my front bumper while parking bcos of a pedal/throttle booster... The lag is there for safety and helps the driver modulate power when manoeuvring...
Hey I have a 2012 dodge challenger SRT 8 , 392 Hemi. I have almost 70,000 miles on it and it drives like it has bad gas. Almost like it doesn't have power , does not really have a loud sound like it used to. Sort of Sounds like a 6 cyl instead of an 8 cyl. I just ordered at 2022 scatpack back in November and the car is set to arrive Feb 7, 2022. I want the XMOD catback system but there site doesn't show it for the 2022. Do you think if I ordered the 2021 XMOD cutback system it would work for my 2022? I can't image anything has changed with the exhaust. Your thoughs
All but the pedal commander.. I put the roar pedal brand on my challenger rt 5.7 and it seemed to just bring it all together before pedal change I could not get under 6.6 sec 0 to 60 elev where I live is 5000ft.once I hooked up the roar pedal .. my 0 to 60 time went from 6.6 sec to 5.8.... now that's one hell of a improvement... Like I said though didn't give more hp just brought it together for me... Now on my 17. 6.4L scat I don't see any changes so far. But I still have 2 more up settings with 7 options of strength per up setting... Will let you know what my final thoughts are on scat when complete the trials

Pertaining to pedal commander type mods on my 2013 I could not get 0to60 under 6.6 and after I picked up roar pedal and it stays at fu3 setting. Manufacturer say it's equal a carbureted metal linkage throttle..well with that being only mod ....it did not add horse power but it just kinda brang everything all together at once I pull with my roar pedal 5.8. 0 to 60 ..8 tenths is drastic improvement however that car was wrecked and I put it in scat and I'm going to turn it way to see if I notice anything and check times cuz at fu3 I do not really notice anything
I own a 2020 Challenger Scat Pack WB which I bought 3 weeks after my son in law bought a 2020 RT 5.7.. He was heading to work, late at night n South Louisiana at the tail end of a major thunderstorm. With dark and low visibility he ran into a low spot on the road and about 5 inches of water. The engine died quickly and he coasted a short distance. He tried to crank it but the damage was done. He stepped out in ankle deep water. He had it towed to a Dodge dealer, where it was determined to be hydrolocked, damaging pistons, rod, pins, valves, crank etc.. The fix was a new long block and many weeks without his vehicle and a $9,000 bill (fortunately most covered by insurance). So why this story? Well it just so happened a week or so before I had installed the Hellcat airbox. Now I realize that not only is the airbox a 'performance ' addition but also a high water preventer.... as the stock intake opening is parallel to and very close to the ground. Think of it this way... If you cut a hole in the side of a straw as big as the hole in the bottom, you will find it hard to suck water from the bottom as air will enter in through the hole. So unless I drive into water as high as my headlight (which I can probably avoid) I shouldn't experience the same fate. BTW after a little research, I found out that this was not that rare of an event. So if you live in an area prone to street flooding, you might want to consider an alternate airbox as insurance!
It seems that the best NA mods so far for a realistic goal like 500 rwhp is a good cam and long tubes, combined with a few other minor mods that gets you there and keeps it reliable. Beyond that you will spend way more money and probably ruin the car in the process vs getting a hellcat. The best mods for a stock scat are weight reduction, wider tires and suspension. It will make it a better and faster car without spending 8k for 40hp NA or twice as much for a buikt motor and boost.
Just replaced both 1/4panels on my challenger yellow jacket, 60,000 miles, the foam Chrysler puts between panels gets wet and dosent dry out. Chrysler said "to bad"
So yea all of those mods listed are support mods at least imo. They dont individually add a whole lot. But couple them with important mods to make the most from them. I have a pc on my gt and no your right it dosnt add power. It adds reaction. And i think the gt is "punchy" for a v6. So i guess ill see soon, as i just ordered my 1320-392 this week. (still has to be build)
A lot of people don't understand that most factory CAIs are pretty good. These cars make 300-1000 on factory air boxes, the air does not have far to travel, like an engine with a center intake like a ford 4.6, less chance of heatsoak. It's not like they magically drop the air temperature, either. Some stock airboxes aren't that great, some are. Aftermarket ones are good for the most part if A) you want a different look, B) want more woosh noises.
Exhaust never 'adds horsepower.'. What it does do, other than sound cool, is give power back that the stock systems steal. Advertised numbers are almost always wrong. Being said, we find cold air intakes combined with a good exhaust, allow an improvement in power, torque, and fuel economy. Breathing in, breathing out simply better. They are affordable options that provide a decent return on investment. Not huge power adders like a turbo or supercharger.
The pedal commander is not designed to add horse power,it doesn’t even advertise it does,what it does is take away the throttle lag like he said!!! With that being said it will make take off,accelerating and everything related become very responsive!!! I would DONT like Bluetooth aspect of pedal commander!!! And what I mean by that is they have a app that connects to it and instead of using the hardline attached to your pedal,you use Bluetooth with that being said you can get signal interference from anywhere and that’s what cause ppl problems!!!
I just picked up my 22 scat pack charger. It’s the first V8 I’ve ever had and the accelerator is absolutely very sensitive and jerky. There is no need for the pedal commander
I wish I saw this before I spent 400.00 on a K&N kit for my 2020 Scat Pack that was supposed to fit but the air temp sensor doesn't fit properly kept backing out of the grommet. Put my stock parts back on. Threw the other crap in the trash where it belongs.

Hey bro I watched a vid yesterday about a 2020 charger scat pack. They did a base line run on a dyno before doing the mods. First mod was shorty headers 10 hp to the wheel then the second mod was a cai they did the dyno run and after the install 10 more hp soooo just saying... at the end they did gain 20 hp thru out the curve and about 20 ft torque to the wheel. To me that is alot of work and cost as well... Overall great vid but it sounds like if I want a car that is quick and does well with mods i will stick with my mustang....... the mustang has a ton of aftermarket options and they wont break the bank in most cases...... You can get a 13 to 14 mustang for half of the price of that new scat pack and spend the difference in mods that would beat the hellcat for less than the total cost of a brand new scatpack. Of course this is all my own opinion.
I have a 21 Charger Scat pack with 300 miles on it, I went to summit to purchase a oil catch can the day I bought the car and the salesman said I should not put this on my motor. From your perspective what should I do?

Honestly Best mod for ScatPack is a Hellcat, too much liability to make that 6.4L reliable with boost, its eventually gonna be same investment to get the same hp.

i have a 2019 dodge charger daytona 392, came with a Mopar cold air intake ( hot air intake) replaced with a JLT intake and hellcat tube, tried to add hellcat tube to the dodge CAI wouldn’t work, With JlT CAI and hellcat tube i noticed lower intake temps, better throttle response and some sound. Also looks good

I've seen numbers on longtube headers being done with an x pipe and dropping the mufflers, with all that done you pick up between 4 and 6 horsepower, saw one pick up about 12 but that was combined with a tune and a few other mods, even an aggressive cam doesn't add a crap ton of hp, I've see one of those on the Dyno and even a super aggressive setup was pulling 18 additional hp so I can't say I am not with ya on that. Pretty much to get the 50+ to 100+ hp gains you need to do the full works, get cams exhaust full forged internals, turbo or super, and just do it all otherwise it's minimal gains. I even saw a guy do his exhaust and he picked up 1hp I almost fell over laughing. I felt bad for the poor bastard.

i use the peddle commander it doesnt add power but it is fun as hell and the issues are from people not doing the install correctly and i run mine off most of the time unless im ready to burn off the rest of my tires it also has an eco mode for those that are trying to get better gas mileage the install issues come from not having the keys away from vehicle during install and not disconnecting battery and kletting the car fully discharge which if you dont will throw a code and send ya into limp mode i have had mine over 2 years and have had no issues with it whatsoever when i do have it on which is seldomly
This was very imformative. I am inquiring about getting rid of the lag in the 4th gear when its time to punch. I have seen many reviews on the pedal commander. Everyone seems to have an issue or they replace it with the pedalbox. Do you have any reviews or friends that could provide their feedback on this? And AWE has dropped a new insane exhaust system. They claim to have the best sound in the world. I'll be purchasing soon to give my feedback on how well it sounds. I can't lie tho my 19 Scat sounds pretty darn good as it is now.
