MoFi StudioDeck+U Review: A Superb Daily Driver

I recently bought the Studiodeck from Audio Advice in Raleigh, NC. Ordered it with the Ultratracker but Mofi sent it with the Mastertracker..free upgrade for me! I was concerned because of your opinion on the Mastertracker but I gotta say..this thing sounds incredible with every record I throw at it!! Of course a humungous upgrade from the AT-LP120 with the AT95E cart. Im in love

I upgraded to the StudioDeck a year ago from a AT LP120. What a difference! Studiotracker cart was good, i put my AT ML540 on it and dialed it in and just WOW!!! Great turntable!! Zeppelin sounds so good!!

I'm playing mine with a Nagaoka mp-200/Schiit audio mani combo. I love it. Also using a Fisher 400 receiver. Jazz sounds really good!!

Have you tried to put a moving coil cartridge on it? Something like AT33PTG/II or Hana SL?

Nice Review. I have the same TT with the Hana SL MC Cart going to a Sim Audio Moon 110lp V2 Phono Stage, I really enjoy it. I have the opposite feeling on the dust cover. I really like the tinted look, it gives it a stealth look I think. The Dust Cover actually attracted me to the table., ha. I did a video on my system too if you would like to view it.

Hi Tim. Glad to see some user reviews, as the most iv’e find is from professionel reviewers. I own the Rega P8/Apheta II combo, and isn’t completly happy, and not becouse the P8 is a worser table at all, but maybe more so the overall performance, where that combo doesen’t hide anything. Bad recordings really have a hard time with the Rega combo, and with my Lehmann Black Cube SE II, i sometimes feels that it’s too much Of a good thing. I listen to a lot Of 90’s indie rock, electronic Music, heavy metal, punk/hard core, but also jazz and Audiophile recordings, and maybe i would be better of with the Ultratrack + M (master tracker), that i Think a good MM i more suitable for my overall taste? But it’s a hard task for me to decide, but i found a dealer with a Demo combo, and he will swoop my combo for that combo, without any money for me to pay, and that is somehow thrilling. I’m about to demo it today, but i would really like to hear your guys oppinion on this, as it’s gonna be a hard decision for me? I really like the looks, and maybe it’s time for me to try another brand than Rega, as iv’ e owned various Rega decks for decades. Looking forward to hear your oppinions? Thx in advantage. Would you know if the stylus on the mofi cartridges are replaceable?

Wow Tim ........ what a great review ....... liked and subscribed. I also have .7's with two Rel 7i's and a Hegel H190 amp. Seriously looking at this table. You need to do a review of your phono preamp. Is it good? Thanks in advance ....... ;-)

I would entertain this, but the dust cover should be lighter, agree, I will purchase this table
