In this Pro Series video, we take you through making a Silicone Jacket Mold that produces professional results. This video illustrates setting up a difficult part shape to divide into two halves and also how to integrate registration features ensuring repeatable results. Starting with a set of deer antlers, we show how to deal with them using straight forward techniques. We hope that some of these tips and tricks help you on your next project. Do you guys have a video about making projects with your foams, like TC-284? I'd love to see you guys make a juggling club/sword using that material. [edit] Also...with a shore hardness of 75-D, how much break-resistance would those antlers have if they came loose from the wall and fell onto a concrete floor? Asking 'cause I'd be VERY interested in using TC-804 to make juggling props (which I'd drop/mis-throw very often), and as I don't have a vacuum pump, TC-804 would be PERFECT if it's durable enough to withstand drops and throws. Here is a great video showing how to make a foam weapon/prop ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-thhDY6sb51A.html The TC-804 is a tough material for being 75D Durometer. It has high elongation properties for how stiff it is. We took one of the antlers cast in TC-804 and threw it around on a tile floor and it simply bounced without breaking. Those thin tips are vulnerable and they did just fine.

What can be used other than hot glue right on the antlers? I have a set of very old roe deer antlers. I want to make a mold of them, but I need to protect the antler surface and mount they’re on. Ty!

Are you concerned that the hot glue will peel off some of the antler material? You can also hold the antlers in place with modeling clay, but it would be much less secure than something like hot glue.

No we do not make molds for sale. We are the material manufacture and our customers make molds and parts.

About how many replicas could you make out of the quart jugs of the 75d?

A quart kit is 4 pounds (64oz) of material, so you would weigh the parts (each antler is 140g = 5oz) to get roughly 12 parts assuming minimal waste.

The original antlers we molded were real antlers.

This is a very useful video especially for what I'm working on right now. However, I can't find your SC5001 thickening agent nor the accelerator on the website. Is it in stock?

A couple of things have changed in our product line since the video. We are using FiberThick as a thickening agent for silicones and other materials. It keeps good tear strength in the silicones while creating good brushability. The tin accelerator has been affected by raw material shortages, but we have potential work arounds if you want to discuss with our tech sales dept. info@bjbenteprises.com

@@bjbenterprises I can try out the fiberthick for the silicone, but some of the platinum cure silicones have a full day demold time. I'm actually willing to wait for the molds to fully cure since this is my first time doing casting. What is the partial cure time for TC-5024? This will be very useful when I decide to work on the glove mold
