Ah, the beautifull scenery of Romania... I recognized Bicaz (Canyon) right away, with later on lake Vidraru and so into the Fagaran mountains. It reminds me of my motortrip back into 2007 !
The ones in Ukraine are not that bad, if you put your mind to it, and plan for no more than 200 km in a day. And the scenery is very rewarding. Avg speed is very low. The ones in Romania are generally smoother, although you can find interesting roads in the country side. The roads on Balkan are smooth. I came from a 2011 air cooled GSA, so the difference to the 1250 was quite noticeable. I’m not sure there’s a lot of difference between a late liquid cooled 1200 GSA and the 1250. From an adventure perspective, the 1250 does not take me places the 1200 wouldn’t.
Man, this one is FANTASTIC!!! I have GOT to get mic capability for my rides. You make me laugh! The sheep crossing is almost exactly how I approach the buffalo here in Yellowstone, lol. The off road rallying parts were my favorite, but the entire ride was stellar man. Can't wait for the next ones! And I've got to learn how to do the map route lines, if you could point me to a tutorial?
Jeremy A Thanks! We had a lot of fun on the ride. Next part will be published end of next week. I use Adobe Premiere for the editing and After Effects for the map animations. I invested in a plug-in to After Effects called GeoLayer2 that does a lot of stuff: Downloads the map tiles automatically (Bing or OpenstreetMap), inserts legal attribution, blending for panning and zooming, and importantly, imports GPX files directly and plots them on the map. It can do a lot of other tings as well that I am not skilled enough to use. You can search “GeoLayer2” on RU-vid for some ideas of its application. You can do great animations without it, it just makes it a little easier for me. An alternative is sign up for Google Earth Studio where you can make 3d map animations. It is pretty cool. I haven’t explored it much, but it looks promising (and free AFAIK). Thanks for watching! :-) earth.google.com/studio
Hahaha, yes, the height difference to the sealed road was too high for the bike to sit on the side stand, so Michael decided he might as well lean it against the wall. We did that a couple of times, feeling badass about it too :-) nicely spottet. Thanks for watching!
