people in the comments not knowing who oneohtrix point never is and assuming this channel is just ran by some unknown guy who isnt one of the most critically celebrated electronic producers of the last decade is funny
OH MY GOD I’ve been listening to a bit of oneohtrix point never recently and also found this channel a couple months ago and had no clue they were the same person. Crazy
I never expected that In 13 years, OPN would come back to this channel It's crazy what he's achieved in that time. For reference, when the last video here was posted, Replica wasn't even released yet. He had an entire electronic music career (ongoing), produced for the biggest artist in the world, completed multiple soundtracks for critically acclaimed (debatably modern classic) films, and CREATED AN ENTIRE GENRE, watched it grow, peak, and die MULTIPLE TIMES, creating what could be considered an internet based underground subgenre akin to punk and having numerous influential albums be released, at least one of which completely changed the landscape of the internet's aesthetic based on one of the videos from this channel. Suffice to say, ALOT HAS HAPPENED since sunsetcorp has seen an upload.
i remember getting into white car because of this channel. i didnt think this thing called 'vaporwave' would become anything and appreciated OPNs albums more, now I make vaporwave mixes. what a ride, insane
@@furkanyilmaz0 i feel it's more than just changing genre. His album Replica is a good example of his growth as an artist with a more overt connection to his early vaporware work.
@@furkanyilmaz0 its useful to note that he has spliced around small eccojam bits here and there, so i wouldn't be shocked if he wants to do more with them again now that he has more knowledge on production work
so fucking cringe to adress artists online on first name basis. Oh YOUR parasocial relationship is closer than the one the peasant fans have surely. One day senpai will notice you and fulfill your demand
how does everyone know about this channel but not know this is oneohtrix and this is for his new album. Actually perplexing i thought knowing about deep cut Vaporwave and knowing who daniel lopatin is go hand in hand
that was awesome, so many nice moments...massive escalation at the end and then smooth vibes on the exit...prog masterpiece dude...i like it cos it feels human and honest, thank you for sharing with us and rest easy
i just realized that since memory vague was created with youtube videos that was around at that time this video could be what memory vague would look like if it's made recently wow
the amount of people who immediately saw this and watched it yet have no fucking idea who OPN is makes my head spin. you liked something so much yet you never bothered looking who was behind it or tried to stay up to date on it. cmon yall
buncha video essay ppl who don't do any research and then make a video targeted towards middle schoolers about "mysterious scary channels" consisting of 15 minutes of pure misinformation when you could easily research and find out the backstory of something with a simple google search
I clicked on youtube home, something I've never once done since 2005. 'nobody here' was right in the middle of suggestions. I click. I listen. I am entranced. I see a short 6 minute documentary from a decade later suggested. I click. I listen. I am entranced. i see several more sunsetcorp pieces, I click and I listen to them all. I find the artist's music channel. listen to a few. then I find this video having never heard of this. sometimes people just drop diamonds on the street for other people to find, I guess. it was my birthday yesterday. I don't know. I kind of feel lucky to be alive at this very moment.
@@_Dolichenus The dude behind this channel is actually a very well-known electronic artist now, and he's been releasing stuff under a different alias, Oneohtrix Point Never, for years. On top of that, he did the soundtrack for the movie Uncut Gems and executive produced The Weeknd's last album. A lot stuff happened in between the uploads on this channel, definitely worth checking out.
