You can tell Nate and Blair were the only two people Chuck really respected and treated well in S1. He never made a move with Blair because he didn’t want to lose Nate, and I think subconsciously blocked out any feelings for her in the process. He was pretty love-phobic. Once Blair makes the first move, it’s like an awakening. He’s genuinely surprised by the fact that he doesn’t view Blair as disposable (like all the other girls) because he had genuine feelings for her beforehand. You can even see that Blair is instigating everything after the burlesque show. She’s the aggressor in the situation and Chuck is the timid one lmao.
I always thought he liked her from the start but didn't make a move because she was for years with nate and in the first scene he starts falling for her
When he opened up his hotel/bar she was the first person he thought of to show it to. Just to think “I have to show Blair”, and for him to hear her to say “I’m impressed”. Those two words bringing a smile to his face. He probably knew right then and there. Joe did with Stella. He said “I love you. I love that when anything good happens to me, the first person I wanna tell is you.” Something good happens and who does he tell? Coincidence? I think not!
For real, people say he looks better in the other season but know he is so hot in sz1 his hair is perfect and he wears clothes and he looks like the rich teenage bad boy and i love it
