Each fall there is a migration of monarchs. They are headed to their wintering grounds in the mountains of Mexico. As they migrate, we catch and tag them and hope they are found safe and alive at the end of their journey.
Nice work. Are monarchs sturdier than more common butterflies? The ones I remember touching as a kid (not monarchs) were very easily harmed, I remember getting some of their dust on my finger. Are they not harmed at all in the tagging process, or just like a little, ignorable amount?
