You gotta check out wavetrac diffs man. Best mod I’ve done on my 540. Next clutch throw in a m5 clutch & uuc dual shear shift rod with a 545 shifter. Magic.....

the stock mechanical fan is more than capable of keeping these cool so long as you don't try to run the original fan and fan clutch for 20+ years. The fan clutches seize up and overspeed the fan, which combined with the fan being old and brittle causes them to shatter and send fan blades everywhere. A lot of people ruin these cars with shitty electric fan installs that lead to electrical problems. Certainly a quality electric fan install can be done but in most cases a preventative mech fan clutch and fan replacement is the right move

That’s true they’re proven to work very well, but I also didn’t like the sound of vacuum everytime I rev’d up 😭😭

@@sots_goober the mack truck / spaceship sound while revving is usually the indicator that the fan clutch is seized and that it's about to blow up. A working fan clutch will let the fan spin less fast than the engine, and won't make that sound. My stock electric fan (on high speed) is louder than my stock mech fan. I do totally agree with you that you need an aluminum radiator on these cars though!

How did you connect the expansion tank to the eBay radiator

Sorry for the extremely late response bro I was in basic training but I am now in AIT so I have my phone lol, the eBay radiator didn’t have a hose spot from the expansion tank hose to the radiator so what I did was put a bolt to block off the hose from the expansion tank !!

Yes! I’ve been daily driving cars with welded diff ever since I got my license back in 2014 🤣🤣🤣 people just like to complain about the “welded diff tire chirp” you get when parallel parking or making U-turns but if you get a welded diff properly done/welded you’ll be fine bro, my diff hasn’t give me any issues at all and I’ve had it welded for over a year now. Before the army I use to work uber eats with my 540 and put over 100miles a day on the car and she’s still fine!!

People say it’s horrible but it’s not even that bad the only time you really feel it is when you’re making a hard u turn, parallel parking, or anytime you’re in full lock

How did you get the fans to attach to the radiator

The fans came with tie straps I tied them straight on the radiator but I need to make a fan shroud for it cause sometimes if it’s a hot day and I’m idling with the ac on the water temps will rise a bit
