I’m sorry I missed the live. I have to comment on Amish canning. I see a lot of people talking about this all the time. They are telling people to WB can meat 3 hours. Oh my goodness. Get a pressure canner. They are cheaper than your family’s life. Then there is that dry canning they are recommending. These are not recommended as safe canning practices. Be safe!

Sutton Daze,,,, I love your channel and respect your opinion. I grew up Mennonite and we waterbathed everything. Never even heard of pressure canning. As an adult I have always waterbathed my venison. No one ever got sick, ever. I now do have a pressure canner and after learning more from you and others I do now pressure can my meats.

The USDA merged with Georgia State University and the website is now user friendly on canning and all preserving.

Georgia State University used to offer a bodacious canning and preserving book for sale. Don’t know if they still offer it.

I have found that picked cauliflower is my favorite thing! And pickled beets. I do not enjoy them raw or cooked or any other way! I can them and put them in my salads, or just eat right out of the jars! ❤❤

Collard greens are great to can. Granny Karma Homestead has a good recipe/process here on YT. Did her recipe, Yummy! I made a mistake an bought canned chicken at Sam's Club. I say that cuz it tastes a little like fish and there is one ingredient that I think is iffy. I was a newbie then and didn't know it would taste a little different from my canned chicken.?? I prefer to use my home canned chicken.

I do freeze potatoes. I cut into fries, blanch, drain excess water, then lay on cookie sheets in the freezer. Once solid, I put them in food saver bags and seal. When using, I completely thaw them and only bake them. Make sure you oil your cookie sheet well, because they will stick. I have also sliced them for American fries, blanched, and froze. I add sliced onions. I thaw and fry them up. I have read that you can freeze mashed, but I have never tried. My thought is they would get mushy. I may try this in the near future.

Somebody asked a question in the live about getting the pickle smell out of jars & lids...baking soda & water...almost a paste...let it sit overnight & there is NO SMELL

Yes any recipes would be appreciated. My grandmother used to can pork loin which I did but I don't have any recipes for it. Looks great in jar but not sure what's next.

Leisa. I will tell you that store bought meat has a lot of water added. Those meats will have plenty of water in them for canning. I purchase 1/2 beef from local farm. I have them hang mine for 25 days to eliminate liquid in burger, steak, roast. First time I canned roast, I had almost no liquid in final product. So for meat not purchased at grocery store, I have to add liquid to jars when pressure canning. It's eye opening how much water you are paying for when getting it from the grocery store.

I did an Italian eggplant that turned out great. Not pickled but more like marinated. Not canned but kept in frig. So stinking good on toast, used lots of evoo

Normally there are no commercials in a live. You may see a couple right in the beginning and that is it.

i bought a pound of dried clams from china, came in plastic bag...need to repackage them into 4oz jelly jars indiv servings? dry can, vacuum seal or add water n water bath for 3 hours? please

For real people need to putting dry canning of any sort in a question to Leisa. Dry canning is not a approved method for anything at home. This is something she has said for a couple of years now do people just not listen. Dry canning was even brought up in this livestream. And guess what Leisa said never Dry can it's not a approved method. Look I'm in the UK we don't have any government guidelines or guidance on any food preservation. If you have only watched Leisas videos or streams for the last 2 months I guarantee every live stream it has been brought up.
