It's actually encouraging to see someone try to recycle as much of a vehicle as possible (within reason for labor and cost). I know our local pull n save lots do fantastic business because of it (plus it's just fun to wander the salvage yard).

12 years ago I bought a 2005 Altima SE from a tow yard that had also slid backward into...well either a large rock or a fire hydrant, for $225. I then began rebuilding 3rd generation Altimas for the exact same reason. Ended up going through probably 30 parts cars and rebuilt over 100 of them. Even to this day I still will occasionally nab one from the south and build it cause they are easy to work on now, and I have an entire panel van worth of parts.. I have no feelings either way for them, other than that first tow yard buy taught me how to take one apart and judge the damage to pretty much any one of them by a few pictures. I wonder how many other people started fixing a specific gen of make and model the same way? Nice vid as always!

Most likely it may have cost more to keep it. That is how some cars get totaled out because if time is involved to pay rental costs or other items it is cost effective to unload it to free up space for making money or insurance to pay out more than it's worth.

Scott. please keep up all the Hard Work and Great Content. what a wonderful business model you have developed for your self. around here, we used to have "bargain salvage yards"; they made most of their money off of the $25.-100.00 impound cars they bought. several of them became millionaires with that simple business model. alas, that time is long gone. you do very nice work. congratulations on your successes. very best to you and yours...walt+mrs.

Thanks, Scott! You're a great videographer on top of your skills as a rebuilder. I like your narration, funny smartass style, it shows great confidence. No one else is surrounded by gnomes that eat pizza. Considering the utopian govt cafe standards and the push for more coal-fired electric cars, remanufactured cars might be the only answer for future individual transport. Keep up the great work! Here's hoping that you make more money than you can possibly spend.

Love your channel.watch it all the time. I could really use your help on a welding job I need. I wish you were in my area . I was thinking of driving to you but that would be crazy. I have a 2003 trailblazer with almost 320k original everything. Engine is bullet proof so far. The rear left trailer arm with the attached bolt became loose due to rust. It's not serving a purpose at the moment, only rattling as a drive. It can be fixed but the spacing is tight . One welder wants 1,000 dollars. I'm still shopping around.

Although I am a lifetime mechanic , I learned early on in life, don't buy stuff to do up that you like, look around and see the shortage that the car market is hungry for , if I still had all the vw combis that I fixed or recycled I would be a millionaire now, but I used to do them up and convert to vw campervan style for a 100% profit after cost, one thing I did get stung on was a 8 month old Subaru brumby that had been rolled, no new parts or used ones available for 18 months at 70 years. Old I still do up cars, I really enjoy your videos as I enjoy the never stop learning thing, I believe that attitude stops people dying young from boredom

I really wish I lived closer to where you live because I would ask you if I could work with you and learn from you. I have many years in the automotive recycler buisness as a puller and I took great pride in disassembling cars without breaking a single thing. When I was done you could put it back together if you wanted to. I guess one bad thing to that is when the boss discovered I could pull wire harnesses without damaging them, I got all of those pull tickets. As you know some GM cars are terrible and the entire car is one big harness that does not seperate at the firewall. I really enjoy your videos and I am glad I found your channel.
