FILM DESCRIPTION:
Charlie (Woody Harrelson) is a New York City transit cop with a mountain of gambling debts, and John (Wesley Snipes) is his responsible, and frequently exasperated, foster brother. They compete amicably for the affections of fellow officer Grace (Jennifer Lopez), but things become more serious when Charlie decides to rob the "money train" that carries the Transit Authority's daily proceeds. John must decide whether to prevent Charlie's crime or to join in on the heist.

Yeah even with brakes bleed, a tripper would've knock an emergency switch on the train to cut off all power to the controls. So they would've eventually glided to a stop when the train traction motor just stops working. There also a similar feature with the deadman's switch. The second you take your weight of the controls while in motion, the controls have power cut off while tripping the brake (or in this case lack of). Again they would've glided to a stop after blasting through the barricade later in the movie because they clearly let go of controls. Subway Trains are weird, it VERY VERY VERY hard to have a "Runaway Train" with they tech they have. Yet modern freight trains can still pull a "Crazy 8s" under the right conditions.
