Let's be real... Monique never "crossed over"... Chris Rock crossed over... and Dave Chappelle crossed over. Amy started over there and crossed [slightly] over to "our side". Not because she made comedy that so much related to "us", but because she made comedy that got the general population talking about her. I'm a fan of MoNique, but that Oscar for precious doesn't mean anything these days... barely means anything for her white counterparts. It's an antiquated form of recognition in a day and age where your social media following holds more value. At this point, the general population doesn't know what to expect from her.
