This reminds me of an episode of "The Andy Griffith Show", where Barney does an illegal u-turn after giving Gomer a traffic ticket for a nitpicky tiny traffic law violation. Then Andy shows up and sees that Gomer has a legit beef, and makes Barney write himself a ticket.
