Nate... Another great VA video. I'm possibly interested in the 371253 1969 Camaro BBC unit and the installation in that car. I have a Cold Case CHC11 radiator which has a typical BBC core size of 23" wide, 16.85" tall, and 3" thick. Was wondering if you have any pictures, links, or videos showing an install of this monster fan in a '69 Camaro with a non EFI BBC? I installed Vintage Air in the car last year using an aftermarket billet serpentine system and the AC is awesome! Cold air coming from the dash ports is around 45 degrees on a hot day at idle! My engine however, running a bit warmer than I'd like at highway and in-traffic so I think the condenser in front of the radiator is restricting the airflow through the radiator core. Currently I'm using a custom designed aluminum shroud with 2-12" fans and a PWM controller. I don't have EFI so if I switched to this single monster fan... what controller would I use for the brushless fan? The PWM unit can't be used with brushless fans. Thanks in advance for your advice and help.-Mike

The temperature rating for the fan controller. Is that the temperature in which the fan kicks on or when it reaches full speed?

So on your trinary switch the blue wire which is currently going to ground would connect to the blue wire of the controller kit. The other blue wire from the trinary switch would go to the red wire of the controller along with a switched ignition source. Is that correct?

James, Yes that is correct!

Hello, when used with your fan controller and trinary switch does the fan still have variable speed? Or is it just on and off?

The fan will still vary speed at first when using the trinary to engage the fan.

With the trinary switch wired in.. does the fan go full blast when the ac is activated or some set speed like 30%-50%?

when the fan is initially kicked on it will be at apx 30% speed, then as the coolant heats up the fan will gradually increase in speed until it reaches 100% speed operation.

If I only have a mount provision near the water pump inlet, can I just use the 180deg controller (I have a 195 thermostat)? That way it's about 15 degrees less to account for the difference in temperature?

the water pump ports are on the return side of the cooling system, its best for the controller to be installed on the feed side. ideally somewhere in the intake coolant ports.

Could it be controlled by the OE PWM Of gM 12612384 E38 PCM? Please Respond

This fan set up was designed to be used with our controller, but it can be operated with other aftermarket PWM controllers that have a negative logic duty cycle definition @ 50-500Hz. We show no provisions to be used with the OEM PCM but if logic is the same then I do not see why not, unfortunately we have no data to support it or a recommended method to wire it up to the OEM PCM

By placing the temp controller behind the thermostat, once the engine reaches temperature, the fan would stay on constantly. I would place the temp controller near the water pump intake (lower hose area). The fan would only run when required, normal highway driving should provide enough airflow to keep the water temperature in check… 😉

It's very sophisticated computerized cooling fan that have a mind of its own, the maximum idling amp draw is limited by the built-in thermal sensor, it will sense alternator output and adjust maximum accordingly so it doesn't kill your electrical system or fry its own board while spinning mindlessly
