Solo Play: Dung bombs when the monster is near egg node, multiple routes, hiding spots, ghillie mantle, other monsters that don't perceive you as a threat but can be used as a distraction for the one chasing you. . Online Play: Challenger mantle on one hunter as a distraction, smokespore plants, flashfly swarms, smoke bombs, flash bombs, other hunters mounting the monster to buy you and perhaps another more time to gtfo. There's a ton of ways to do egg quests and its much more enjoyable now.

I know this is a joke. But there's a 99% chance that they would use double crossed's "deactivate the trap and render it useless" QoL mechanic to alleviate that problem. Or maybe they might implement a "you can lay down one trap per area" mechanic since the map is seamless now.

i know for a fact that there are in game versions of traps, or at least the shock trap, where you kick a lizard and it sends out an electrical current

or when two large monsters discriminate against you and double team your sorry ass just because you killed them a couple hundred times

Erafune It only sends the hunter back to base camp, not back to the hub world. Once you return to camp, you can go back out and do whatever you want (maybe even pick up new quests from the handler)

not getting your tail carve, that was indeed wrong, here's hoping returning back to camp is optional, i like to wait on the nest area for when my prey decides to rest (then all the barrel bombs + gunlance wyvernfire)

Why would you ever do that? Seriously though at high level you pretty much use draw crit so it's all about draw slashes or draw charge slashes unless you are tail cutting.

mrluga I'm a little worried about them, as they're clearly just a shitter crutch that removes all interaction between the map design and the player, I had PTSD flashbacks of the shitpile known as Skyrim and its abysmal quest design with the mindless map markers. I really hope that players can turn this off: I want to feel like I'm bushwacking through a living jungle, scouring the map for footprints or a trail myself, actually immersed in the game world. I also hope the more obnoxious parts of the UI (mostly during the mounted attack) are just part of a tutorial or something, I neither want nor need your intrusive handholding COVERING THE CENTRE OF THE SCREEN, I WANT TO SEE MONSTERS, NOT BABBIE'S BUTTON PROMPTS.

It'd honestly be better than having to worry about looking at a map that either is too small for your big screen TV or too big that it takes up a quarter of your screen just to look at the pink paintball dot on your map. Someone has kicked a monster to death, Team Darkside kicked an Akantor to death. In fact, there's plenty of people who've kicked monsters when it was weak and it died lol. But in all seriousness, what is the kick really used for? I've heard you can dismantle traps, but it doesn't really work. One use I can think of is to set bombs off, but that's about it. Other than that, I don't find much use. I find it funny though, and if they remove it, I WILL be mad. Not because it was all too useful or anything, but for the same reason they got rid of arm wrestling. It was fun.
