wait a minute...around 3:35 mark are you implying Nergigante could have killed Zorah if he wanted to? there's no way that's accurate... in terms of their strength..Zorah is on a completely different power scale from the rest of the monsters (including Xeno Jiva even). it canonicaly took the entire Hunter's HQ in a huge operation involving warships, likely hundreds of hunters and almost all the resources they had just to drive it away. meanwhile the other dragons (including Nerg) get killed by small teams of Hunters Nergigante in particular started being outmatched by the edgy Katana hunter dude as soon as he showed up on Zorah's back, and chose to flee. Nerg was following Zorah around simply because it knew Zorah was essentially on a death trip. it was waiting for a free meal.

In monster hunter 4 i killed a mountain crushing snake then decided to take on an apocalyptic dragon fatalis afterward. We dont die, nor tire. A hunter can hunt a Deviljho and a Rajang at the same time if skilled enough. The Great Jaggi would terrorize our world whereas in their world a hunter will fight a 72 ft lighting crocodile and no reflection of his victory will cross his mind. Only the prize of the carve. The game is just the grind. One monster would yield a bunch of resources for everything in reality. In fact when you capture a monster the capture guy will often tell you they'll release the monster tag and track it to study it over its life time so I don't think we're monster or lack the understanding of balance. I simply think the elder crossing frequency increase was just a die off period which is when a population suddenly dies off do to natural causes. Elder dragons are old so old in fact that some could be nearly as old as the world itself they all have some connection to natural phenomenon. So it's plausible that a vast majority reached old age at the same time and died. That being said Xeno may not be luring them so much as its a by product of the massive influx of energy I don't believe elder dragons breed but in stead in death they create by releasing energy. That energy flows into the ecosystem over time to fuel evolution and the creation of new organisms. So in the die off period so much energy accumulated that instead of dispersing like normal it culminated into one mass and created xeno'jiiva. The energy Xeno game off was like a beacon instead of the rotten vale which would normally be center of the cycle there for it would have the most energy in it was replaced by Xeno as more elders came the cycle couldn't recover resulting in a new elder dragon. This would explain the life cycle of elders they live so long you'd think you'd see more then humanity could handle do to breeding but instead they only create when they die if enough die in one place a elder is born.

I really do love your videos, they are well thought out, entertaining and bring up some ideas which makes the Lore so much more enjoyable than it already is. Keep it up with the quality videos

Shouldn’t hunters technically be considered elder dragons? Supremely powerful (able to kill any monster), don’t fit into any other classifications, and can ruin entire ecosystems with the mere presence?

Hunters are not just normal humans they are genetically enhance that is the reason they can wield giant sword and hammer with super ease. Hunters are somewhat a miniature version of a equal dragon weapon. That is what I think hahaha

Nergi wanted zora's bio energy so he could reproduce. It makes sense, that it would want Zora to reach it's destination as quick as possible. The comission was slowing down Zora, so Nerg had to step in. Nerg didn't/can't hunt giant elders... Nerg is a scavenger/he is 1.5 times the strength low tier elders...

Yessss, this video is a perfect summation of the disconnect between the game's story elements and gameplay cycle! Also touching on that wonderful mystery I dont think the game will elaborate on, Xeno'Jiiva. But still, it's great fun to speculate and share ideas with y'all. On the question of are we there to keep monster populations low as the late game quest descriptions imply... Why did we stop Nergigante and Zorah? The first Wyverians seem to understand the damage he would deal. Did we set back a cycle or end it? Will we get a G rank version of the game that has newer ending stories, or is there a possibility for them through DLC's? I just want a bit more knowledge of the impact of killing Xeno. 1st theory: Nergigante is some sort of white knight and is trying to stop Xeno Jiva from growing to it's full potential. 2nd theory: Nergigante is wants to bask in the bio energy of Zorah Magdaros to gain power in the same manner of Xeno Jiva since he or she set up home right next to the giant crystal which is made from bioenergy I believe. 3rd theory: Nergigante wanted to wipe the elder dragons around him/ her and destroy the new world and cleanse it of hunters. 4th theory: Nergigante was trying to get Zorah Magdaros back to his lair so he could smash some elder dragon ass. 5th: Nergigante may have wanted to lay an egg to then bask in all the bio energy that would be in the new world after Zorah Magdaros died possibly creating a Xeno Jiva 2.0. These are just some theories. Do with them what you will. I personally think the 4th theory is by far the most plausable.

I think the Lore is a bit different to the game. Yes, in the Lore 4 hunters "defeat" the Fatalis but he still alive, the Amor of Fatalis kill the carrier of the set, Dire Miralis still alive after him dead bc the heart still beating... In the game we have 3 live and if you fail the mission you return to the village like nothing happen, in the Lore only 1... One mistake and you are done, you can't return. Wherever, the video still nice! ^^

The deadliest monster in Monster Hunter are the Hunters. Mankind came in, claimed land, and started killing the natural habitat and made excuses to do so, claiming the “Monsters” pose a threat. No. They’re protecting their home that we (the player) started to steal for ourselves.

Well... except there's fatalis... who ended the dragon wars against a more advanced and powerful civilization that the current one. We kill it sure... but it's a game, enemies are to be defeated.. but in lore?? For all we know the fatalis are immortal. Hunters or "humans" in general change the ecosystem over time with their actions... fatalis eclipse the sky and can shape the ecosystem with a roar. My money is on them

The way I see it is nergigante can beat any elder dragon but it is not very deadly because all it has is the ability to seal off other elder dragons abilities and nergigante has the greatest physical abilities of all elder dragons

You know, without the hunters’ interference, Xeno’jiiva’s pheromones would’ve kept attracting elder dragons that weren’t ready to die to the new world, and it was it that dragged the dying Zorah away from the Rotten Vale to the everstream, almost destroying the entire island to feed itself. By fighting Zorah and changing it’s path, by slaying the fully powered elder dragons, the hunters protected both the island and the ecosystem

I like to imagine that my hunter is at one with nature and sees killing a monster as unnecessary, while capturing and releasing it is the perfect way to both learn about his surroundings while keeping creatures alive to live out the rest of their days, and while he can’t capture elder dragons, he doesn’t kill them unless it’s a disruption off the natural order, but that’s how I merely like to see it

I love the fact that someone is covering the secrete lore of monster hunter. I would also like to add my take on the nergigante zorah connection. I think it's possible that nerga was protecting zorah so it could suicide into the everstream and kill xeno before he woke up, and when zorah died in the sea he decided to retreat to the recess to feed and gather his strength until xeno hatched. I think he had planed to try to kill it as a sort of last stand. Plus if you remember where it was when we found it, hold up in a nest. He only came out to fight the hunter, he sized them up almost like he's challenging them. It's like he knew he couldn't win so he decided to test someone that could and "Feed" them. It's possible that the other post zorah elder had the same plan. Why else would they return to the recess, a place that had their only predator and the strongest monster in the new world, and not the veil. Like they wanted to fight xeno or "Feed" something that could kill it. After all, we are the new eater of elders. Suddenly the death of elder dragons is less a loss and more a willing sacrifice. Anything it takes to kill a god.

What if Nerg was trying to release Zorah's bioenergy, giving birth to Xeno, in order for Nerg to kill it.

In another theory nergigante was a hero trying to stop Xeno jiva and help Zorah magdaros. Xeno jiva wanted to become a god and wipe at humans due to them upsetting the balance.

My biggest guess of the world's dedliest monster I would say between Val Hazzack or Nergiante.

Wait when xeno jiiva was slayed the body fell down in the cutscene which means its going to be feeding something bigger probably an adulthood xeno or some sign of dalamadur shit

I still object to the part where some think Nergigante was protecting Zorah Magdaros. Why? Because if you notice your second time fighting Zorah, when Nergigante show's up, Zorah gets up and starts shooting fire balls at Nergigante. Most people might not have realized it.

No. The Elder Dragon Killer, the forgotten but deadliest weapons created by Mankind. That is why Humanity is nearly Wiped out by the Council of Elder Dragon.

The hunters aren't the monsters. Can you imagine what kind of chaos would ensue had the hunter not stopped xeno? Especially if xeno was actually able to mature into adulthood. Someone else already covered the rest of my thoughts.

Hmm I feel like this is wrong, in all the mh games the premise was always preserve and keep balance of nature, if you played or pieced together some of the lore on the old games it actually talks about how a great civilization (wyverians) fell because of their greed, if you go visit the old games you can see old ruin maps and deserted castles. Hunters are not monsters, the farm/grind is just a mechanic, the hunters typically only hunt one monster of that type and the guild frowns upon taking more than what you need hence why in the game you can only carve a few times, its to also give back to nature.

Gastodon are the most deadly monster. They kill or assist in killing more hunters than any other creature in elders recess.

the hunters are conservationists. true hunters today are the worlds greatest conservationists. part of being a conservationist is keeping populations of animals in check (by killing them) to help maintain the balance. true hunters (both irl and in game) use as many parts of the animal as possible to ensure its death wasn't wasted.

Actually if that is true you need to remember that if that were true then why would nergigante want to guard zora until he blew up the island? Thats beyond counter productive because zora would have destroyed everything. And if this was true why didn’t zora make a B-Line for astera or blow up the fleet enroute?

I think that Xeno may well be an evolution on the wyvern equal weapon made by the ancient kingdoms. WEWs required hundreds of wyverns and elder dragons to be killed in order to make one kinda like how Xeno requires crap tons of bioenergy to make. Now, the original ones were supposedly machines but... what if a small contingent of researchers escaped fatlis' wrath and continued their research into creating bioweapons and made a small prototype of xeno and it's been gradually gaining bioenergy ever sense as it seeks to complete it's instinctual function, kill elder dragons, feed off them, and seek and destroy fatalis. So then... Xeno may be the sapphire star of legend. A final attempt to guide humanity to a new future where they aren't under fatalis' claws.

My only problem with videos like this is how they completely dismiss humanity’s right to exist. If Xeno had been allowed to mature everything including humanity would’ve been wiped out. So my question is this. Does humanity not have the right to fight for its own survival? Just because we are superior in our intellect do we not have just as much a right to ensure the continuation of our own? We don’t begrudge the monsters for doing what it takes to survive, yet for some reason when humanity does it we are seen as the bad guys.

I typically try to incorporate a lore with everything in MH...Been playing since Tri....#underwaterkombatwitlagiplz 😂 I thought things like the heal booster, draws from the Earth healing properties, to mend the hunters wounds; cleanser, purged toxins via inhalation of fumes from the incenses calming effects. Helps boost their metabolic rate to speed up and develop a resistance to what is buggin em. And the infinity booster(personal favorite tool in arsenal) releases human-friendly 'monster' phomones....they cause the hunters pupils to dilate into cat-slit like eyes and their muscles swell to bigger proportions....let their blades slide through scales and bones like butter and shots hit marks almost everytime. Hence higher and constant crit dmg.....................I have an overly expansive imagination 😅😅

The problem with your statement is that it was ignorance that they fought and repelled zorah magdaros their reasoning was sound. Had they not repelled zorah he would have destroyed the new world and every thing on it doing way more damage than people ever could. The reppelling of zorah doesnt destabalize the island causing new predators to show up it allows the older stronger predators who have been hiding from the elderdragons to reemerge and continue hunting.their hunting of nergigate and the other elderdragons was not reckless it was calculated. Nergigante would have killed them anyway to stop them from finishing their elder crossing. But nergigate is a reckless killer and as such was destablizing the ecosystem by hunting literaly everything. You still do nergigantes job of killing elder dragons before they can give their bioenergy to xenojiva you arw just far less of a reckless slayer than nergigante was. And all of this was done as a means to save a continent that is full of life and creatures we know little to nothing about. Everything you do in thw game is to preserve balance. The mosnters in the game dont keep balance the humans do

In lore xeno could destroy the world!! In game: the most boring most easy most poor excuse of an elder dragon that shouldn't have been in the game to begin with for being such annoying long shitty fight against the "final" boss also deals little to no damage to hunters for being a monster who can destroy the world also is very slow already it can get its ass whooped by a great jaggi and i bet if rajang looked into xeno's eyes xeno would just drop dead in fear because you dont fuck with rajang. In all seriousness xeno is the single worst elder dragon fight in monster hunter history, it makes the original shitty kirin from monster hunter freedom look like a good boss.
