the handler is just a glorified questboard.. I prefer talking to the actual questboard though, cause it behaves more, like an actual human being despite not being one
zachary de Vera dont have people do it for you! Its so much fun to have trail and error I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been wrecked by ruiner nergiganta
@@mysticalpotatoe3258 damn... tbh im kinda surprised a 10 yr old isnt bored of this game nice job but yeah just learn what nergi's moves are and ones you should really look out for. trial and error
I have a theory that anybody who mains the insect glaive were the kids in kindergarten that said they wanted to be an attack helicopter when they grew up. Those kids are awesome. Those kids have imagination 🤣
Well since iceborne, hunting horn is significantly better with the echo attack, and i honestly dont have the desire to play anything other than hunting horn, whether it's solo or multiplayer
I think he was making a joke because most of the fandom says our main is worthless. Yeah tell it to my friends who said the only reason we could beat arch tempered nerg was because of my element buffs, recovery up, and divine protection. I really hate that people don't give us a fair chance when we are just a viable as them.
eeveeongirl really? Most people I see praise the hunter horn mains as gods. They’re so good but nobody knows how to use them. My friend started using it in gen and for most of the fight he just kept popping bind resist against a tetsucabra, so when someone who actually knows it well joins my party I celebrate like I’ve won the lottery.
@@yoshikagekira5880 its gotten better but when world first dropped the LS mains (a majority of players) made it quite clear that they thought HH was bad because its not a strong numbers wise. It takes time to learn how to play the HH. I picked it up in 4U because because my bf started maining dualies which were my weapon at the time. For a while I was terrible with it, then I just got better with practice. If your friend wants to get good with it I recommend him trying a no hit run with a monster. I used shagaru magala because I used gore when learning the game and shagaru has an added challenge with floor explosions. Even if you don't succeed in the no hit run you will get better because you learn to time songs, dodge, and build up songs by hitting the monster.

@@femthingevelyn Have you made sure that the investigation actually has good outcomes. I usually get multiple gems from using up all charges of a investigation.
Might I point you to the elder melder. She'll make you rubies/mantles/... for a gold/celestial ticket. I do recommend only going to her after you have all the other parts you need though.
@@thegk-verse4216 Meanwhile Hammer users are to busy doing their spin attack and seem to never break the parts they are supposed too, yet they feel entitled that they are better. Bow Guns are just sitting in the back doing math to figure out how to reach max dps, switch axe users are as rare as hunting horns, but are amazing with their weapon when you run into them just like with HH mains, people still somehow don't know how to use Charge Blade. Lances? Their dead in iceborne outside of solo play. At least with duelblade mains I can expect them to dodge and survive unlike LS mains who get themselves stuck in linear attack animations.

The entire series is a grind fest! I put in thousands (seriously) on mh1, mh2, mhf, mhfu, mhp3rd each.....haven't played world yet but will soon....waited on PS4 for ff7 remake......then I saw mhworld and was holy fuck what was I doing!
When basil appears on the map you can pretty much stop hunting because every fight hes goonna show up at one point just bombing the shit out of erverything and killing you while focussing on the monster you hunt...
@@VANTABLACK634 honestly? Fatalis grind is almost nonexistent, the hardest part is getting the 5 Eyes for the full armor then weapon, which doesn’t take very long with a decent team. Especially considering that you still get an eye even if the quest fails, the game drops wings shards and pectus like crazy
@@DMDarren Often you're better off setting up a 'cheese' build solely for that monster, and then exploiting the hell out of the AI. For example by firing a flash pod ANY TIME a flying monster goes into the air, you get a whopping 2-3 seconds of free damage. That's enough time to get off a TCS!
My stance on the whole "murdering innocent creatures" thing is, if you can kill a giant fire breathing T Rex with nothing but a stick and a big bug, you deserve that kill. That was a fair fight!
Most of the monsters probably feel so depressed when they are beat by insect glaive. Teostra: Hey man are you alright? Nergigante: No I’m not, I was just minding my own business in my crystal house and then some guy with a stick started hitting with a bug, and then I just died, I don’t know what happened?
Josh Bennett Kushala: Wait, you got beaten by a guy with a stick!? HAHAHA! THAT MUST SO EMBARRASSING FOR YOU! Nergigante: OH! Says the FLYING HURRICANE DRAGON that got beaten by a HAMMER

They put the Handler in a palico fursuit for the current event, and I think that perfectly exemplifies what the handler is: she wants to be your friend, likable, and cute...but she's just some creepy weirdo who's *always there* Go away. Let me have the ace hunter as my boss.
And I'm sure you guys have used the Canteen option whenever out on a quest/expedition to buff your stats before your hunt, the Handler literally stands next to you and stares at you in awe and wonder whilst you chow down some food....who the fuck does that it's creepy!
I used dual blades at the start and at the end of iceborne for a little but every weapon works for me although im just getting to trying the Hunting Horn.
@@pickle1964 why tf should i change my build just because ls mains want to attack the head? Isnt it more efficient to go for the wings and tail instead of wasting a slot? Which do you think is more efficient for cutting a monster's tail, a hammer or a sword?
@@pickle1964 alright, ill agree that the heead normally is the best spot. You gave good points but i simply dislike the fact that i have to change a slot instead of having proper team cooperation. Ive played with a few ls users and the worst thing is not going for the head, but they go for it in the same spot i am, same side same everything. Thats what peeves me, lack of awareness of team mates.
@@pickle1964 also saying the tail is negligible isnt true. For monsters with tails, they incorporate it into their attacks so decreasing the range of those attacks is always beneficial.
I would like to say the hunting horn as replaced the hammer flipper as the best move in the game. When you clutch claw to the monster and do your attack, you literally do a handstand and kick it into the monster
Rip SNS mains. He underestimates you guys. Also Handler's role is basically your secretary. She does your paperwork for quests while you do the tough shit.
I never really got why people hate her cause of the whole cat hug thing, i didnt even notice and its just a hug, u can literally mess around with him in seliana Hot Springs, her constaly giving tips is annoying but atleast shes not navy stoping the entire game for a random button prompt message
@@giannicolamatteo8155 I dont hate the handler for any other reason than the one thing Scott already pointed out: She's suicidal as fuck. @@DemBigOlEyes Yup, she always ends up jumped by some monster and she never learns. Also i almost never talk to her for quests so even as a secretary she is doing nothing
@@dunamissolgard3817 I'm not saying that SnS is bad, I'm saying that it's the worst weapon. It's still a very good weapon, but compared to the others it's the worst.
ThisIsntaRU-vidr I’m sorry but the great sword outclasses it since it can damage and block, same for the lance, gun lance, charge blade, long sword has the parry, bow-guns can stay at a distance, switch axe doesn’t have a block but it has ridiculous damage to make up for it, same goes for the hammer, even insect glaive does more damage even while helicoptering. It’s main gimmick of being a support weapon is even done better by the hunting horn. So yeah, its the worst weapon, its not a bad weapon, especially with ice borne out now, and I’m not making fun of anyone that uses it, but you have to admit of all the weapons to choose from, its the worst one.
To be fair, the handler is your accountant, manager, and researcher all at the same time, she manages the money earned from quests, documents quests from the quest board in her book, probably manages your items and gear, and documents fauna evidence and tracks you stumble upon in hunts. She does a lot of the background stuff that makes the gears turn smoothly.
Animation where Kula-Ya-Ku just leaves the area: OH GOD! So relatable!!! Bazelgeuse about to eat him: ..... It's like you can see into my salty soul....
I just hate how the Handler takes part of the credit for all the shit we killed. She didn’t help fight Zorah magnaros, she didn’t help kill Nergigante, she wasn’t anywhere near Xino’Jiva when we killed him. Yet she acts like she’s an invaluable asset when a fucking Billboard does the exact same job she does.
NothinButRags at least Serious Handler gives you an Ancient Potion and dares to fly to the back of Zorah without any weapon just to give it to you. Aww, Serious Handler.
NothinButRags I am pretty sure she does help but in the videogame it is meant to be like she did help even tho you can't see her, it's a shot but videogame gimmick
and you know what the worst thing is... the end-game cutscenes ENDS with the handler stuffing her face with a giant turkey leg. I gave a "Wow, REALLY.. thats your end-game cutscene? wow" remark... (it still is better than generation's "wtf" end-game cutscene, or dance scene)
Since I'm still relatively a newbie to MH in general, having MHW as my first MH game so far has been strangely addicting. At first I didn't understand the gameplay, the speed was awful for me and I died so easily. ...That's when I realized that my friend suggested me the longsword because it was the highest on the tierlist, and I just hated the longsword. Yes, I agree, Hammers are the bloody best and crushing skulls and anything really is super satisfying. If I didn't make that freak decision to switch weapons I'd have dropped the series as a whole.
The hammer is obscenely useful. Like, you want a consistent source of blunt damage? Hammer got you covered. Want speed AND power AND to be able to use the terrain to your advantage? Hammer gots that too. It kinda makes other weapons look like one trick ponies by comparison, though I don't know how much other weapons were changed for Rise.
I heared that Longsword is a good weapon for beginners..... i tried i on my first run and mad the half of the game with other players In the second run i chose the all mighty hammer and mad the hole game solo😂
As an IG main, I gotta tell you its the place you do the most damage. Jumping is good for mounting, hitting flying things, or trying to snipe tail cuts, but if you've got red buff and ground combos will hit the monster you should be using those.
reperfan4 of course buddy is a joke, the whole thing with the glaive is getting the buffs and then either mounting them or knocking them down to go ham on their fucking head
Nick Cooper I was gonna say flying monsters and I feel I tend to spam it a lot on elder dragons as well. It just feels like too much of a risk standing still under beetlejuice while he nukes the entire zone hahaha. Not to mention you can pretty much permanently stay above xeno where he can't hit you by just spamming circle on the wings, back and head
I use the Great Sword to have fun with the damage, I use the hunting horn just to suck, I fly around with the insect because it's actually more fun and officiant if you want to paralyze monsres, I use the gunlance when I have nothing else to do, I use the heavy bowgun when I'm bored of close combat.
Other People: -I only had problems with monster (x) and that was only one time. -I beat nergigante with a boomerang and rocks in under 5 minutes -I soloed everything with the starter weapon and no armor, without using any consumables, in my sleep, upside down, with my hands and legs tied behind my back, and locked in a trunk! Me: -Getting hit 3-4 times by Odagaron before my body even hit the floor after jumping from a ledge -Getting Chomped by Anjanath and his magnet teeth every 4 seconds regardless of position to him -Getting stunned by (x) monster's roar and then instantly getting tail swiped, chomped, tackled, trampled, incinerated, frozen, electrocuted while still stunned -Doing extremely well only for another monster to jump in tackling me from the air then getting up getting hit by the first monster then suddenly a THIRD monster charges in and smacks me as I try to stand. -Dodging and getting a mile away from the enemies range and still getting hit boxed. -Dodogama cannon blasting me through a Bezelguese. While I'm just trying to mine -Rathalos attacking me over and over and over and over for so long that I run out of stamina 4 times while dodging/walking and using stamina items. Only for Anjanath to rush in act like they are going to attack Rathalos then suddenly turn 180 and jump on me. Still love the game to death and have lots of fun though, Haven't played the series since the original on ps2 and super happy to be able to play again.
John Rivera Dude this spoke to my soul! Still love the game but man I hate when shit like that happens to me. Especially when other monsters that your not even hunting comes and fuck shit up. Yeah I'm talking about you Bazel fuck off please 🤦😂😂😂
Me: Beats (x) to near death, goes to set trap to cap.... B-52 flies in, drops bombs and kills it, then roars twice while I try to salvage carve and flies off to the "Thug Life" meme
Snipe is only good if you cant properly shoot a full auto gun. When in minigun and at close to mid range you can do way more damage then the snipe's one shot and follow up blast. 50+ shots of 22+ damage is more then one burst of 10-20 pops of 5-20 damage.
I’m an insect blade main and your description of us is 100% accurate. We don’t mount. We fly around and chuck our team Edit: I made this post as both truth and joke. No need to take it serious. I mount but it takes to long.
I call the Tzi Tzi mr paparazzi. Cause whenever I'm fighting a legiana he pops up and takes a picture and runs away. He was just trying to get a nice shot of the titans duking it out
Sword and shield. It blocks, It deals slashing damage for tails, impact damage for exhaust/knock out. Has two separate mounting attacks, plus an aerial shield bash that literally breaks face as well as a fairly powerful charge attack. Its combos can attack in an endless loop as well as pivot mid combo. And if that wasn't enough it's the only weapon that can use items whilst being unsheathed. Best weapon.
I just love going spinny spinny real fast and hitting things lots. Which is also why I'm a fan of the Insect Glaive and the Bow/Gun (light bowgun. I haven't ever gotten a good heavy.)
ight well i also use dual blades and i have to say that what he said is the most accurate piece of information i have ever heard about anything on this planet
as contrasted to your overwatch finale video, this one is much more upbeat and feels happier. idk if it's that you genuinely loved this game or if by moving past overwatch stuff you've gotten to a better place in your life, but at any rate i'm glad and really enjoy your vids, thanks for this one btw, loving monster hunter and your vids scott =)
its was a forbes article written by a guy who loves the game but decided he needed to write 1000 words about how hunting monsters makes him feel bad. Complete waste of time.
PETA would have hated me. On the kill rathalos and azure rathalos mission, rathian decided to be a bitch and show up so I killed her too. And had Bazelguese limping by the end of it would have killed him if AR didn't get in the way of my attack
And a proper blunt weapon user mindset: Loads into quest, Time for a quick stamina drink then find monster, find monster, HEAD HEAD HEAD HEAD HEAD HEAD HEAD HEAD HEAD HEAD HEAD HEAD HEAD!
Then the tail gets cut within 30 seconds and you have to relocate. And sadly not all cutting weapon mains think that "OH MY WEAPON IS GOOD AT TRIPPING THINGS. MAYBE I SHOULD GO FOR THE LEGS TO GET TRIPS THEN HIT A BETTER WEAKPOINT THAT'S ONLY REALLY AVAILABLE ONCE THEYRE ON THE GROUND" Yea... Being a good switchaxe main makes watching randoms constantly fucking people over and launching them agonizing. It's crazy how effective we can be going for trips and breaking wings and the chest and the like, but people think since the head is the biggest weakpoint normally that their "high dps" weapon is entitled to it.
Lol, that article. "Questionable treatment of animals" The story is literally about saving the environment from food chain from collapse by preventing invasive species or overly successful species from devastating prey and preventing overly populous prey species from eating themselves to starvation which would cause the predators and everything else to also starve. Heck, the game even rewards specifically capturing monsters instead of killing them.
I love the hammer as well, though I call it the "Spin to win." Whether it be the charged side spin or the jump spin that is indeed the BEST ATTACK EVER its just so much fun.
MHW from a longsword users POV. My spirit gauge is full! TIME FOR MY ULTIMATE! FINAL! OMEGA! HYPER ATTACK! HIIYAA *jumps in the air* YES THERE'S NO WAY IT WILL MISS AHAHA! *monster roars and enrages, while the entire team watches the weeb fall from the sky*
Earplugs?! No. We take our chances. Each stab proceeding to a sprint into the air is our risk, our leap of faith, of weebiness. OF ANIME. I will gladly land on my butt if it doesn't work. Also I'd rather anything else than that skill :v
I honestly could never hit the first stab part of that attack. I would be all up in that shit and id somehow manage to miss every hitbox possible only hitting the air between their neck folds. I cant count the amount of times I've ran straight under monster id never thought id run under, like pukei pukei
I don't get it. I mean I understand the words via google translate, but as new person to the series what is that about? People who do nothing but attempt to mount? Or what?
You nerds, i LIKE the hunting horn, i said its a shame i don't see it online but let's be real, if it can't flipadipdip its just not the best most amazing weapon
