My favourite part of this whole video, is just the pause and reflection after catching the fish! (Especially just the lay down on the deck). I think any serious fisherman would understand completely, as to why you were like this, after catching one hell of a jack (or any pb fish for that matter) onya Timmy!

Great show Tim nice jack I know you've been wanting to get the big ones the way you were struggling with that Jack I was expecting one of your mates to pop up out of the water in front of you with a snorkel on and tell you to just reel the fish in already...hahahaha I've never been a big fan of the bait caster reels my self in fact all my reels are Okuma spin casters anda L.L.Bean fly reel. my rods are all Shakespeare Ugly Sticks. (a 6'.5" and a 7') the nice thing about the 7' is it can double as a short fly rod for those times when I want to try fly fishing for Bass.

That was an old beast of a Jack. Well done . Not sure if this suggestion helps but you might want to try putting you xi5 remote on a hobbie gear keeper . Ive been using them for a few years now and find it keeps it in a handy spot when hooked to your hip and with the retractable cord you still move about with your hand and if you drop it to wind ya reel or accidentally it just goes straight back to your hip or we're ever you clip it . ( don't clip it near ya nuts ends badly especially with kids ). Great vids thankyou for sharing them. Have a great Xmas

Man.. I don't know how you use the remote on the Motorguide while jack fishing. Being able to use the foot pedal and fight the fish at the same time to drag the fish away from structure has saved me so many times hahaha. But nice fish man thumbs up!!

Red hot fish mate, thumbs up. However, the video did just highlight why i absolutely HATE using a hand remote for an electric motor. While probably impractical for your skiff, a foot pedal frees up both hands to focus on working the rod and reel simultaneously. The motor (on a pedal) could have been used to drive the boat into clear open water while fighting the fish. Not a criticism, just my thoughts on pedal vs hand control. Congratulations on that fish and great footage
