I like Nicholas, his seriousness doesn’t bug me cus it actually adds to his charm and honestly I’m super proud of his craft on Monsters. He’s put so much into it and you can totally see the effort.

I think it speaks volumes about their character that Erik still reached out to Cooper even when he thinks the show wasn't that accurate because he can still separate the art from the actor and is excited to see episode 5, I can only respect Nicola's decision yet I think if he could've gotten the opportunity to talk to Lyle maybe he would feel different, I think because Lyle's portrayal has been criticized the most (which I think he did incredible btw) it definitely impacted him in a way of maybe feeling a bit disappointed or embarrassed, idk... but they both deserve the recognition bc their performances were amazing aside from the creative liberties the show took
@yevgeniyaleshchenko849
@yevgeniyaleshchenko849 22 часа назад
Pretty sure that actors were praised but portrayal of certain events/aspects (like showing some homoerotic undertones in brother's relationships etc.) aka ''creative liberties'' were actually criticized the most. Not Nicholas' or Cooper's or anyone's acting.

@@yevgeniyaleshchenko849 yeah definitely but from what I've seen some Nicholas fans noticed that he's been really off on this press tour and I guess even when he was just doing his job and he did amazing maybe all these comments about lyle not being rightly portrayed, etc.. got through him and specially hearing the real brothers thought it wasn't accurate but yeah I mean for drama purposes I can appreciate having a little extra storytelling here and there but the way he overly sexualized them like he had them shirtless, in their underwear or in bath suits in almost every episode plues the kiss, etc... was unnecessary

I also LOVE that he's advocating for those brothers!!! Lyle And Erik deserve a shot at a life outside of prison!!! They suffered horrendous abuse their whole childhood and then the rest of their lives in fucking prison for finally standing up to their abusers with the only solution they thought was possible being both emotionally, physically and mentally scarred and fucked up!? No! They deserve a second chance at life!!! I really wish there was some sort of petition going around the world campaigning for the brothers' release! I'd sign it in a heartbeat!

“Lots of material” but the portrayal of Lyle was completely inaccurate to who he was when he was younger. Even Erik but his portrayal was definitely not as inaccurate as Lyle in the show. And Chavez just wants to move on after participating in assassinating Lyle’s character? Yeah no wonder he’s in another RM production….birds of a feather…neither have any guilt over using a mans trauma for entertainment & reaffirming the harmful narrative thats been put out against the brothers. At least Cooper has some humility & decency….i hope he comes to his senses and apologizes to Lyle. #FREETHEMENENDEZBROTHERS

@nenesaidso 7 дней назад
@@umaoyeah I’m not being dense at all, but wisdom seems to be chasing you and you appear to be running lightyears ahead of it…. Chavez chose to go through the auditioning process and accepted to play the role. He is not just complicit in Ryan Murphy’s sick & twisted fantasy, he was an ACTIVE participant who is benefiting from this project. He is benefiting from playing Lyle Menendez. Monetarily AND in terms of his fame & career. Yet he won’t even speak to the man?
@gayavardan
@gayavardan 6 дней назад
You are speaking as if you know them in person or at all. But you don’t know those brothers besides of what they did and what they have said about their lives so far. You don’t even know whether it’s true or not because there is just no way to know that factually. Yet here you are and throwing mud at another person you don’t know. Do you even realize how stupid it is to speak about these complete strangers based on what the public has been TOLD, not the truth (because you will never know it)? I am currently watching this interview to distract myself from the show I was watching before this interview. It’s horrible and didn’t really villainize Lyle or Eric besides the shopping spree and partying, guilt tripping people to give them more money and trying to move on from what they did. Maybe they are really bad people. I shall never know. Maybe they have been telling the absolute truth and got canned by the society’s closed off mindset. I shall never know. What I know is you never blindly believe every person and every story, especially if there is no way to prove either point. What they got sentenced for is the crime they committed. The rest we are unable to establish as truth or lie. As for the personality of Lyle, you have seen him in the footage from courtroom. You don’t know him to say whether the actor has messed up or not. Not to mention that it’s not up to the actor to establish the exact personality of the character the script writer has presented him with.

@@nenesaidso why are you mad at a 20 something years old boy that was just acting a part (yes, not accurate) that was given to him? kinda crazy
@nenesaidso
@nenesaidso 6 дней назад
@@gayavardan I’m speaking based on court footage, from interviews & recordings from prison and hearing the things that have been said about them by people who know them personally. I’ve watched hours of analysis’ and read the books written by jurors, Erik’s wife, Robert Rand who knows them personally. Xraided even spoke about them recently. You can get a very clear picture of who these men are by doing your research. No I don’t know them personally but I believe in them and I believe in their family & friends who have stuck by their sides and advocated for their release even after they admitted to committing such an act. And those same family members were also Jose & Kitty’s. If they are such horrible people why would they still support them 35 years later??

@@Steph-lc7hy Even if you raised your voice at that time (1989-1990) you'd attract attention and be warned that you'd have to leave a private venue if you continued doing it. It was a lot less casual and permissive than today. On the other hand if you weren't in the mainstream ethnically, the stuff they did would brand you a racist and bigot today, and in some circles destroy you. So it wasn't any kind of paradise, and it was rich in contradictions.

I think he just seems very serious and like he wants to give the "right" responses so to speak, but I imagine he's a lovely guy! I think Cooper is just a bubbly fella and he's so strongly on the side of the Menendez brothers that he gives off this great vibes. Cooper seems to be so deeply connected with not just the story but the truth and the fight for the brothers and Cooper seems to be sticking with it is just his job and he takes it serious but it ends there (which is fine!) So I think Cooper just gives off such fun and caring vibes and Nicholas seems even more serious because he's next Mr. Bubbles over there!
