I never understood this scene as a kid but now that I'm watching it as an adult, I understand it and I find it very weird that people would rather die than be saved. Forget about the guy who attempted suicide, the people in the train who were probably just commuting from home to work would have rather died than being saved. Wow. Sure they were injured, but they would have died if Mr. Incredible didn't stop the train which would have been worse. This movie accurately depicts how far humanity's stupidity can go and it's scary because we see the same concept happen in real life.
You know it's kinda weird though, Now that super hero are illegal, shouldn't the Villain can run around and caused chaos but instead they just hide like the super hero, and the only time a villain came out was the "underminer" when the incredibles family and Frozone show up
these are facts. look at society now. this video pretty much raps up what humanity has turned into. but regardless there are definitely good people out there. but good luck finding them. they are rare especially these days. no good deed goes unpunished
I think maybe one idea in today's time is that Mr. Incredible should not have interfered with Bomb Voyage and should have just let him steal the money. The money is likely insured. By not interfering, the inaction would have prevented the bomb from being deployed to Incredible Boy and then dropped onto the tracks.
I remember watching this when i was 8 years old in 2005. Not knowing what was happening and just waiting for more action. And now that i am rewatching this at 21 years old i finally get what really happened, Understanding every word of this montage scene.
Nicole Obara for reals! Also when bob discusses with his boss insurance stuff. When this scene happened i literally told everyone in my house "hey yall be quiet, i watching some important news right now"
Rewatched this for the first time in ages and was pretty surprised that they literally say the words “attempted suicide”. I remembered it as being obviously implied but never outright stated. Gotta hand it to Pixar, they know that fun kids movies don’t need to be sugarcoated and censored all the way through and that to do so would be insulting the audience, kids included. But on the other hand they’re never edgy or grimdark or vulgar for no reason. It’s part of why I can watch these movies 10+ years later and realize that they’re actually even better than I remember.
exactly. honestly im shocked that pixar or disney allowed anything edgy. by the way. i feel like they lied to people. this movie was DEFINITELY for adults but for the family. i love it.
+paulborri That’s because the blast in that building was caused by Bomb Voyage. He snagged a bomb on Buddy’s cape, the Mr. Incredible snagged the bomb off the cape and it landed on the train tracks causing a massive explosion.
Yeah it was a movie made to be good not just bright lights and sounds to distract a shitting baby like what Pixar has been making since this movie came out. Shame brad bird doesn’t like trying anymore. This and the iron giant were really the greatest animated films of the period
@Phoebe Olivia They WERE thinking. They were thinking, "They've had enough. They don't want to live anymore. Not for people, not for business, not for ANYTHING." Besides, Bob was already causing trouble.
[Registration act quotes:] "I think you take this vigilante stuff too seriously. Since the Keene Act was passed in '77 only the government-sponsored weirdos are active. They don't interfere." - Watchmen. (1986). "Ladies and gentlemen, the truth is that mutants are very real, and that they are among us. We must know who they are, and above all, what can they do!" - X-Men. (2000) "In spite of everything you've done for them, eventually they will hate you." - Spider-Man. (2002) "Let the record show that this committee holds him responsible." - Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. (2016) "For the past four years, you operated with unlimited power and no supervision. That's an arrangement the governments of the world can no longer tolerate. But I think we have a solution. The Sokovia Accords. Approved by 117 countries, it states that the Avengers shall no longer be a private organization. Instead, they'll operate under the supervision of a United Nations panel, only when and if that panel deems it necessary." - Captain America: Civil War. (2016) Here's to honor from those out there, from the glory days during the Golden, Silver, Bronze, Morden and Dark Ages.
"...Just moments ago, Legislation was passed to exile the Autobots from American shores, the U.S. Alliance with them is officially over..." "...what.., They can't do this..., you got to tell them they can't do this, the Autobots fought for us, they fought with us...." "And where are we now... facing an enemy invasion, with an enemy that has the means to deploy countless more..." -Transformers Dark Of The Moon I like the similarities of treating the saviors like they are the cause of all the problems
This movie always scared me for these reasons: Syndrome hair and face Bomb voyage Oliver sansweet The midget boss The teacher The underminer And I still got a little freaked out 🤣
You know what Pat? I definitely remember watching The Incredibles when I was 2 years old in 2004 & 3 years old in 2005. In fact, that’s the greatest super hero movie ever from Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar Animation Studios. That’s because in the Montage Reference scene from The Incredibles was the best scene ever when the reporter talked about super heroes where they’re continuing to make the word a better place for the good people of Municiberg.
you might be right. i never noticed that. as many times as my brother and i watched this movie. i thought we would have noticed that by now. this is a CLASSIC. by the way not to flex but we got the original dvd release. 2 disc set. 💪🏽😎💪🏽
Those guys can thank Buddy for turning against supers in the first place. If he wasn’t so stupid to get involved in Bob’s fight with Bomb Voyage to prove himself as a worthy “sidekick”, he wouldn’t have gotten a bomb on his cape that subsequently destroyed the El’s tracks. First off, it shows how Buddy was the one who moved the whole movie’s plot forward, in causing Bob to reminisce about the glory days as a super more than he thought he would. Second off, on a more serious note where were his parents when he was sneaking off to “help” Bob?
Director: we have to figure out a way that mr. Incredible could be there when Bomb voyage was blowing the place up.... Random guy: how about someone tries to commit suicide but Mr Incredible saves him! Director: I smell a PG movie
To this day this scene still makes me a little angry Dude was literally saved from suicide and in his mind despite him being injured but lived he thought ya know what I'mma sue the guy who saved me but forget that the people who got saved from the train from crashing is actually one of the most angriest I mean Dude he literally saved y'all's lives from a train crash and u wanna sue him 🤔 I will never understand
Legally speaking, this couldn’t happen anymore because of Good Samaritan Laws, which protect people who intervene in life-threatening circumstances from litigation after the fact. The train thing is a bit more complicated because Mr. Incredible chucked the bomb wherever, and it happened to land on the tracks. Mr. Incredible isn’t tidy when solving problems, he in fact creates a lot of property damage. He saved them from a crash he would’ve been responsible for anyway.
This is just down right ridiculous! Suing someone (a Super that could break all of your bones might I add) just for saving/"ruin" one's attempt to commit suicide, one of the most worst way to do deal with depression!? That Sanswit twit probably wanted to commit suicide by jumping off one of the tallest buildings, just to get recognization & fame for it. But since that failed, he decided to sue Mr. Incredible for just doing his job! And they allowed him to do so, even when he admitted that he tried to commit suicide on purpose!😠 As for the passengers on the train, they are suing the wrong guy. It's Bomb Voyage's bomb that destroyed the bridge, not Mr. Incredible.
Nah, this is the representation of anyone from any time period because no matter if one’s a boomer, gen x, millennial or zoomer etc., someone’s gonna sue for something. Always.
I don't see what the issue is mr. Incredible say lives like why do y'all have to sue him and get rid of all the superheroes like what if y'all need them one day and they're not there to help y'all
I can explain that for you... Some people just don't want to be saved, and as you can SEE, Bob INJURED the guy while saving him. Bob was also causing a lot of trouble. -Instead of climbing the tree to save the cat, he carelessly pulls the whole thing out of the ground (When heroes are supposed to CARE about nature) and then he violently tries to shake the animal down. Then he carelessly throws the tree into traffic causing a crash. All he had to do was simply climb the tree.
Five days later, another suit was filed by the victims of the el train accident. Incredible’s court losses cost the government millions. And open the floodgates for dozens of superhero lawsuits the world over.
@@miguelr3135 Under tremendous public pressure and the crushing financial burden od an ever mounting series of lawsuits, the government quietly initiated the Superhero Relocation Program. The supers would be granted amnesty from responsibility for past actions, in exchange for the promise to never again resume hero work. Where are they now? They're living among us. Average citizens, average heroes. Quietly and anonymously continuing to make the world a better place.
I saw something similar in an episode from the 90s. The New Adventures of Lois and Clark. There was also a trial against Superman and everyone immediately wanted to have a trial with him.
My version of what would've happened if elastigirl had saved the guy who tried to kill himself Lawyer: Mr sansweet didn't ask to be saved Mr sansweet didn't want to be saved and because of elastigirl's actions (so called) his suffering will torment him for the rest of his life Elastigirl: hey i saved your life! Guy who tried to kill himself: you didn't save my life you ruined my death that's what you did!
I know this was back before Good Samaritan Laws existed (like Film Theory stated), but why did everyone side with Sansweet? In all honesty, they should try to get some people to help with those contemplating suicide. Besides, there weren't any laws for supers on how to handle people attempting suicide. So Mr. Incredible should've won the case.
I already know dash hadn't been born yet but that's my version of what would've happened if he'd saved the guy who tried to kill himself Lawyer: Mr sansweet didn't ask to be saved Mr sansweet didn't want to be saved and the diziness recieved from Mr incredible's son's actions (so called) causes him a lot of nausea Dash: hey i saved your life! Guy who tried to kill himself: you didn't save my life you ruined my death that's what you did!
You know, all the supers have to be relocated but you know what would've been worse.....the super villian began to work with the Government as a pallalel to how the US recruited Nazis into their space/espionage programs. In a sense, whoever the villians were, they got the easy life while their old enemies wither away.
After Mr Incredible was sued he didn't know that his former superhero friends were being pulled out of retirement to fight indestructible super robots these were known as the omnidroids the omnidroids were programmed to take out any super they come in contact with and they are also learning robots which means they can adapt to the superheroes attacks and easily take them out however some of the omnidroid variants have been destroyed but every time an omnidroid gets destroyed syndrome upgrades it and gives it bonus features so that they can beat the super in round two how this plan would go is that syndrome would track down unsuspecting supers and put them against the omnidroids but none of the supers were able to win every time a super would come into contact with an omnidroid it would always end the same way with the omnidroid successfully defeating the superhero and murder them in a brutal way syndrome kept going until there were no superheroes left unaware that there were still superheroes out there just in different countries after he killed all the retired superheroes he would then put his plan into action and releasing the 10th omnidroid into metroville but we all know by watching the movie by now that the Incredibles and Frozone managed to defeat it by pulling out its brain bored with one of its claws to name a few of the victims that fell to this Twisted plan that syndrome put together Universal Man psychwave everseer macro burst the phalange Blazestone downburst hypershock apogee blitzerman Tradewind vectress gazerbeam stormicide gamma Jack plasma Bolt and fironic these were the superheroes that fell to Operation Kronos before Mr Incredible came to tear apart syndromes plans
