Wow I've dropped off the PP for a while - but really happy to see how much progress has been made! So impressive, really looking forward to following closely now. Love this community!
Excellent work guys. I am into Aquaponics and we using used plastic ibc totes for all our growing and fish tanks. We produce lettuces, ginger, chives, strawberries and many other plants when the seasons are right. We started with a single chop and flip system 4 years ago. This year we expanded the system to 10,000 litres total volume (about 1 and a 1/2 car parking spots). Might be a nice addition for your kitchen? This year we are investing our savings from food we did not need to buy into a solar battery thingy to power the system. Oh and for fun this year we grew some birdhouse gourds for the local birds to nest in instead of my mulberry tree (hopefully they eat some of the grasshoppers that love my lettuce). Thank you for being an inspiration and so awesome.
I have been saving milk jugs for the day I build my own shredder. One thing is that the labels in the US are glued on and not easily removed, that I can see. Is there a movement to deal with this issue of labels that are stuck so well to plastic? So cool to see all this happening!
Every time you post a video I feel excited for the future. PP is honestly the most exciting project I have followed in recent years. Can't wait to be back in Europe and come visit in person and lend a hand!
Don't get me wrong, but that bottle cutter is like a re-invention of the bike. There are already a lot of advanced DIY plastic bottle cutters on the internet.
@@swayson5208 Yes, most definetly! I made myself on one long time ago, after watching this vid: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hQeeJEpBYsg.html I believe getting a angle/channel bar is not that hard, no?
Looks great so far. Shredded EPS can be used as isolation straight away. Plastic from obsolete (inefficient\beyond economical to repair) electronics is often dirty with glue and/or other types of plastic, grease, etc. Disk drive plastic can vary in type greatly.
I like the way you think but i wonder why use so much time reinventing stuff that already exist? There are many smaller companies that does precisely what you try to do here. Anyway, the most important issue is price. If your end product is too close to virgin plastic the business model will not work.
Price is important but not the most important. Imho the most important is to convince people not to buy things made of new plastics. They should buy things made of recycled plastics, which are produced locally. They may cost the same or even a little bit more.
for the business guy, try and look into making Precious Plastic a cooperative... if possible a multi-sector cooperative, which is like a company but where every member is an equal owner of the company. It will be helpful for Project Kamp also because once you acquire the piece of land in which it will be built, you will have to deal with the question of: "In the name of who will you put the land, whos gonna be the owner on paper of the piece of land?" and by having a cooperative where everyone is an equal owner of the cooperative, we can put the land in the name of the cooperative and then everyone is an equal owner of the piece of land... and forming a cooperative will have other benefits as well... anyway, its an idea to look into...
does anyone know a solid way to turn plastic into plumbing pipe?? i feel like that would be a good use of recycled plastic. maybe even one day making toilets out of plastic
I like the way you think. We should use the recycled plastic to make the most usefull stuff possible. Houses, plumbing, tobues for transporting recyclable garbage beneath the streets automatically (instead of using garbage trucks), parts and pieces for solar systems...
As a guy from Argentina who grew up mainly eating meat and is now vegetarian, I can guarantee you would not die. You can start by eating steak half as often. That alone helps a bunch. And you'll discover new foods! (Y)
Love your work guys, but forget about C02 as a reason to do it. The science is wrong. There is no consensus on AGW. A way into understanding this can be seen at SuspiciousObservers YT channel. But, anyway thanks for your pioneering work and passion.
Why not starting aquapponic system for food Less water, less time, 100% organic, you have fish for free to And you can get any "green" cuz is on a greenhouse Think about it
for the online platform being developed, it would be nice if it was a social network, like facebook, but with some improvements, like the facebook groupsare a very useful tool, many projects have started because od facebook groups and pages... if you could make the same interface, so people are already used to it, but incorporate other functions to the groups, like the mechanism that there is in the website corais.org which is like a whiteboard online for groups to collaborate in projects over distances... add that to the facebook groups, and remove the restrictions in sharing that facebook has made, plus improving the pages feature also, and other aspects as well, it could become awesome... just some ideas ive thought about before...
for the styrofoam, look int EPS panel houses... If you can make EPS panel houses with recycled styrofoam it will be the best use for it, the most useful and helpful for humanity to help solve homelessness, and for building houses in Project Kamp....
thank yu guys , entirely coz yu kind of completed my missng puzzle ...... thank yuuuuu this is for all your video . I now working on vision 2020. thank yu guys
Amazing job! I would do the same with fabric. Old/unused garments shredded and reloomed. It is a commond practice in India and in big factories...I would like to bring it more domestical. Would it be possible?
