Hi All
In this video I take a first look at the Moeer Preamp Live. It's models a lot of dirt pedals, preamps, power amps, cabinets and mics to give you a vast array of really great sounding amp solutions for going direct to front of house or using into the FX return of your amp.
It covers off all the possible amp sounds anyone could need and the user interface on the pedal makes operation of them for live purposes really well though out and useful!
I really like this unit. I'm as impressed with its sounds as I am with its really simple functionality and useability.

I just nabbed one of these bad boys with the recommended Mooer power adapter for $40 through Offer up! Well worth the hour and 20 minute drive 🤣💯 thinking of pairing this up w the Cerberus as per one of ur other vids🤘🏾great demo as usual 👏🏾👏🏾

I’ve had this for about 2 years and i use it daily in a 4 cable config going into a monster 150w plexi clone. This sounds amazing as just a really good preamp. I don’t make use of the power amp simulation nor the ability to hook directly up to a DAC etc. but it is awesome for the price.

I know this is an old video, but I am trying to find a silent stage pedal board solution and one of these is cheap on reverb. I'm leaning toward a boss all in one solution though because I have been told their aired tech feels and sounds like a real amp. I'm 62 and like you grew up using real tube amps. Some solid state as well and I like a lot of the new solid state amps and these new modellers for tone. ❤ I subscribed and look forward to hearing and seeing more of your vids. ❤ Best regards from the heartland. Hey Tim. Thx again for all the comments. So this is very good. It’s very hands on and easy to use. And it sounds great. It’s only real drawback is it’s quite physically large. I’d recommend it though. The IR200 really is the best of these I’ve come across so far though.

sounds great...thinking of getting one to work in combo with my HX effects...am thinking that with the preamp live having midi I should be able to change its settings with HX effects alone

Hey. Thx for the comment. Yeah I’d say that should absolutely work well. I love the HX effects so much. It’s an outstanding piece of kit. Incidentally I use the BOSS IR200 in that capacity with the HX effects. Switching amp models with midi. I have a video on it on my channel. Works incredibly well and is much smaller than the mooer.

The Master Volume knob acts on both outputs or is that possible to adjust them separately?

I don't think this unit is for me, but it does have some interesting features. I've got the HX Stomp and I think it's just a bit more all encompassing than this unit which suits me

Hey man. Thx for the comment as always. I don’t really think it’s in competition with the HX stomp. It’s only an amp and cab modeler no FX at all. But I does the amp / cab thing well

@@TheGuitarEffect sure, but price wise they aren't far off or at least when I got mine. For the sake of an extra hundred or so, you get not only the amp models but a choice of drive, distortion or fuzz in front, any mod you require and verb. You basically get a full signal chain rather than just the amp models, or you can go for a full stereo amp set up just about with the Stomp too. If you factor in the fact you'd need at least an m5 on top of this unit to get close, then you're pretty much spending the same money anyway. It has the simplicity factor for sure and this will appeal to a different demographic. I'd be interested to try it for sure but it'd have to be around the 200 notes mark for it to compete for me at least

Nah, if you know how to dial the amps in on the preamp live, it's magnificent. Just have your fave boost pedals in front ( real pedals), and a tc electronic plethora in the loop and a good fr cab say a Kemper 2/12. There you have a awesome rig. But again, it's knowing how to dial in . As it is with any amplifier.
