Here's a song that I'd heard my whole life, but never really "listened" to it until recently. It first caught my attention on a Tommy Emmanuel album entitled, "Little By Little," a good while back. Then, not too long ago a friend requested me to learn something by Henry Mancini. Honestly, the first thing that came to mind was, "The Pink Panther," and as much as I love the movies, I wasn't so sure I could connect musically. Now following that request was a Tommy Emmanuel concert just last month where he played, "Moon River" live on stage. In fact, in this video I'm wearing the hat I bought at his concert for inspiration. Suffice it to say it was like I'd heard the song for the first time. Finally, I just picked up James Taylor's latest CD "American Standard," and what do you know..."Moon River," right there on the playlist.... I can take a hint, so I decided it was time. What I wasn't ready for was just how much I would love playing this song. I hope you enjoy it too. Now, I've got to go watch "Breakfast at Tiffanys," maybe for the first time too. #moonriver #G7th #MatonGuitars #HenryMancini
