Year has been really solid for new stuff. I thought last year was pretty strong, too. Still waiting for a full-on game changer though. Hey Jon! I was burnt when I bought Charley Crockett's Man From Waco. I bought the record while on holiday, when I got home and put the record on I discovered it was a Phoebe Bridgers record in the sleeve. To be honest, as a result I can't bring myself to buy new Charley Crockett albums. I think I might be one of the "I prefer his older stuff" crowd. I streamed $10 Cowboy, liked it well enough but didn't buy it...See above....I think I prefer his new new album, Visions of Dallas. Kudos to Charley for bringing back the old country music industry tradition of artists releasing multiple albums a year. Hopefully he'll release another couple before year end. Hed
I’m pretty sure that was the pressing plant’s fault. Can’t blame Charley! 😄 He said in an interview he would’ve released two albums by March of this year. His label and management told him to slow down a few years ago to get on a more traditional album cycle - which he said he hated. Lol Cheers ✌🏻
It's been awhile indeed! I like the St Vincent and Charley Crocket albums as well. But I really wanted to let you know that, to my surprise, Jason Isbell is coming to Belgium in November and I've got tickets. I had never thought I'd be able to seem him, so I'm looking forward to it. I'll let you know what I thought of the concert.

@@TheDigitalGramophone Thanks for showing interest! We mainly get to see the big acts, like Springsteen, but festivals in Belgium also host lesser known American artists. Isbell will be performing in a venue with a capacity of 1500. I have no idea whether that's a lot or little for him in Europe. Up to now it's not sold out. I just recently bought Ibibio Sound Machine. I figured I would be the only guy on the planet with it lol. I do t have that new album yet. I did enjoy the Motorist album, very upbeat feel with some serious lyrics. Have you talked to Dave about the Top 10 albums, he keeps changing his list. I did like the last album, love some cool horns.
Ibibio Sound Machine is great. There is one other album by them that I want on vinyl, but that’s it. Yeah, every new release Dave buys is his favorite of the year. 😄 I appreciate his enthusiasm though! Cheers, Steve!
