More horrific writing in Amazing Spider-Man #25

My only shred of optimism is when the BS villain looked to have put a curse on MJ: “May the scarlet woman accept her chains… and may her death make me a god.” People are saying the chains are the kids and she might be under a spell being weakened with magic. Regardless this is just a terrible fanbaiting POS disgust. ASM is why pirating exists.

True. The faces Peter was making at the end of this issue were really weird looking. Need an artist who has actual understand of facial proportions.

@@yiorgosstergiannis4742 that seems to be very true. I don’t recall him ever doing a biweekly book. I think his longest running work was on Batman and Robin and that was monthly I think. He’s doing some upcoming work on Spider-Man with covers and I think interior art for one issue. Hopefully Marvel just offers him something involving Spider-Man. His Beyond issues were some of the best looking issues of that entire run.

@@johnrhodes101875 Romita Jr. had good art in the 90s and early 2000s. Right now I think he’s either gotten lazy or is sick of drawing. It could be that he doesn’t like drawing the current run because he’s forced to draw stupid stuff. I’ve noticed that the dumber the issue is, the worse his art is.

Made me laugh. Paul was actually my favorite marvel hero as a kid.

@@yodaintheattic this is like paying 7$ to be punched in the balls. and what's worse is this is supposed to be the one that shocks us. But all this did is reminds us mary jane is still with self insert Paul. And the kids are adopted even though SOMEHOW they look like kid versions of Peter and MJ.

@@yodaintheattic yeah it’s a little nice to see the newborn chemistry of Black Cat and Peter and I’ll say that a grown ass man like Peter struggling to adapt to countryside is a kinda stupid but the jokes are funny so yeah it’s cool.

Good points. I don’t think Paul makes it past the next few issues but MJ and Peter will still be broken up for reasons.

Fr it’s not been a good relationship for yearsssss because of writing decisions. Just has made the character of MJ seem infuriating to read as her feelings change constantly without any reasons why.

That’s fair, JRJR has done some pretty good things, he is a legend in the industry so I won’t knock him too hard going forward because he doesn’t seem to have any involvement in why the story is bad. But sometimes his faces make me go 🥴

I think after all the lines Peter crossed, all the bridges he burned with his friends and allies, only to be majorly screwed over despite his efforts and determination, it's clear, he and MJ are never meant to be, like Gary Goodspeed and Quinn Aragon from Final Space. Peter worked together with his arch enemy to cross universes and bring MJ home, and all he's rewarded with is a pat on the back?? If it were me, I'd say, "You know, as Spider-Man, I'll always be there to help you, but as Peter Parker? ... What more do I owe you? ..... We're done." Especially with them showing MJ calling on Peter for help with Emissary's return, despite showing she has powers of her own now, and how committed MJ is to her new responsibility. I'd say, take a tip from Peter's slogan, "With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility," and deal with it yourself, MJ.

Everyone hates him for his crimes as Spider-Man to get back Mary Jane and bring her home, and he gets completely screwed over by time and space 'cause MJ got busy with another guy. I get it, desperation and survival and all that, but Peter lost everything, and it wasn't even his fault.
