I met David Gilmour in 1984 back stage at a concert in Hollywood Calif. He gave me a signed album that I have in my music room. We talked for 22 minutes. I called him…“The Master Of The Stratocaster” He smiled. I asked if I could shake both his hands that make such great guitar solos, he smiled bigger and said “Sure” and shook both hands at the same time, making a cross between us, I smiled HUGE. I asked him to describe his technique of playing guitar, he replied… “I strike a note, bend it, shake it and then release it”…. Yes, he does that quite well, better than any other guitarist I know. All of us fortunate enough to have seen this show live were in a TRANCE.... MESMERIZED the entire show... as you can imagine. We walked out saying.... What did we just witness? That was out of this world incredible. I have had the extreme pleasure of meeting David Gilmour and shook both of his hands at the same time as he smiled. Hard to explain how awesome that moment was in my life.

I was there the night it was filmed in Earls court, London. Seen the show 6 weeks earlier in Rotterdam as well and those shows will stay with me till my dying day.

I have seen Pink Floyd Live 4 times… I saw this same show in N.Y. 1994. The concert brochure said the stage is 120 feet wide. It takes a crew of 60 technicians three days to set up the entire lights and all. The concert schedule required that there had to be three entire crews to keep up. They leap froged each other for 92 shows with 20 Trucks per crew and a total staff of 195. The tour cost the promoters $98.MILLION to put on, but the total profit was $260 MILLION… I have seen Pink Floyd 4 times. Nick Mason’s drumming is incredible and matches Gilmour’s guitar emotions while Richard Wright takes us on a Magic Carpet Ride of tones that form the foundation of it all.

"run like hell" from this same concert on the pulse video should appeal to you musically and the singing is a different style than what you have heard so far, i think you will enjoy it, it is the last song of the encores of this concert played after comfortably numb, the light show is wild too.

4.48 they add in a bar from the Dr Who TV theme. You should sit down and watch the entire gig, its all awesomely good with a mind blowing light show. They do perform their masterpiece Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety. Pulse 1994 is out on HD Blu-ray soon, invest in a copy rather than downloads and treasure it. BTW, its the drummer Nick Mason who does the 'One of these days...' line.

Great reaction my friend. And an excellent suggestion too. Yes, that most certainly is Guy Pratt on the bass, who later joined Gary Moore's band. As you quite rightly said, the show itself was absolutely phenomenal. An experience that I will never forget. Cheers. 😊😎🎸

The keyboards are the real backbone of this track. I mean the whole song and production is absolutely phenomenal but the keyboards highpoints are incredible

This is one of those songs if you're listening to it in your car you better put it on cruise control if you're on the freeway! If you don't you'll find yourself going 95 or 100 miles an hour by the time you realize how fast your going!!

Check out SORROW and also RUN LIKE HELL, both from the 1994 Pulse Concert.

The lights seem linked to the instruments. It also sounded at one point, in this live performance, as if they incorporated a bit of the Doctor Who theme.

Yes they actually did! It was slipped in deliberately just for any Dr Who fans😂😂😂
@lucianaciolfi
@lucianaciolfi 2 года назад
@@philshorten3221 They put it in because they were fans of the TV series themselves. And being also a fans of "Monty Python", when Pink Floyd learned that the group was in financial trouble, they gave part of the proceeds from the album "Dark side of the Moon" for the making of their movie. 😎👌

Pink Floyd is not a " look at me" band, they are a "enjoy the show while we play for you" band.

You have to listen to Shine On You Crazy Diamond...the studio version. It's a masterpiece.

You're welcome. I KNEW you'd go for this one. You'll like the live pulse "Another Brick in the Wall Pt 2" and "Run Like Hell"... but save that one for last (they blew the roof off the light show budget, being the last song). The old joke was Director: What's the budget for the light show? Pink Floyd: Yes! Peace from Canada.

This one I was sure you'd be on board with because it's all guitar and none of the kind of singing that you aren't a fan of. Based on that, much like others in the comments, would also recommend "Run Like Hell" from the same concert :) It contains singing but it should be a winner.

"Money" next. Killer sax and guitar solo. And featuring one of the great iconic bass lines in Rock. (Live Pulse concert).

If you like it, I think you might like the song "Run Like Hell" - either from the Pulse concert or Gilmour Live in Pompeii 2016. In both cases, again, it's a great show with pyrotechnics. I prefer Pompeii!

Great reaction. Was checking out your channel wether you did an other Nightwish reaction. And to my surprise i saw you did some Pink Floyd songs. Pink Floyd is my number one band , but they got some company up there sins I discovered Nightwish:) You where not so impressed with the first song you did ( Comfortably Numb) And i can see why The solo is great but the song itself is more about the meaning and emotion in context with the mental health problems of the former leader of the band Syd Barret. But you got it and yes Pink Floyd is more of an experience and a band best listened sitting down with your eyes closed...:) I love to see you do more of them not only for us , but please do yourself a favor and find out what Pink Floyd can do for your soul.

Nightwish song #2 will be out today (Saturday). As for Floyd, sitting on the floor listening with my eyes closed is not the way I like to enjoy music. I’d rather have it blasting and be moving around, head nodding or even head banging. I can understand their appeal and respect them and their fans, and I can have an appreciation.

I still appreciate your honesty, and maybe their vocals will never connect with you, but I'm glad you enjoyed this song! PF is one of my favorite bands, and part of why I love them (in addition to the vocals, which I realize aren't for everyone) is their musical versatility. They can do a lot! I'll agree with the suggestions for "Run Like Hell," which does have vocals, although they may be different enough to be engaging--but the song's energy is brilliant (is was the last song of the concert's three-song encore)! Appreciate your work! P.S. Although it's more obscure, you might also like "The Nile Song" from their album More (a soundtrack to a film by the same name). Peace.

Pink Floyd send more people to space than NASA. You also must watch from Roger waters (former member of pink Floyd) the live from Mexico. Also epic and real stage. Every live from Rodger waters is very good.

you realy need to ditch those in ear pods my friend you are missing a lot of back ground music,,a pair full over ear headphones with the volume up to just below distortion is the only way to listen to these guys,enjoy,,,try "dogs of war" and "on the turning away"from the delicate sound of thunder concert

Thanks for the suggestion but you might be surprised on how expensive and fantastic those pods are. I’ll put them up against headphones any day of the the week. Trust me, I’m not missing anything. And I do have them at a very high level.

Nick Mason, drummer at Pompeii(1971) is much better than this version. Not as flashy however, Nick shines.
