I just found your channel today and really enjoy these videos. I'm a revert after 47 years outside the Church. Mary gently guided me home, and I'll always be grateful. Some of the comments here by those who are dead set on disrespecting Our Lady and minimizing her role in Jesus' life and ministry would be laughable if they weren't so sad. When Mary is ready to bring them home they will understand her holiness.

From Douay-Rheims Jn. 2:3 And the wine failing, the mother of Jesus saith to him: They have no wine. Vs 4: And Jesus saith to her: Woman, what is that to me, AND TO THEE? My hour is not yet come. Vs.5: His mother saith to the waiters: Whatsoever he shall say to you, do ye. Though it was not His hour, Mary brought His hour to Him. And in her telling the waiters to do whatever Jesus said to them, Mary certainly knew of the miracle Jesus was about to perform! Talk about Intercessory Power, the Blessed Virgin Mary has more than all other intercessors who ever existed, or ever will exist.

Bishop Fulton Scheen has a wonderful commentary on the Marriage Feast of Cana. It was if Mary and Jesus both realizing this miracle would be opening the door to the Passion. Imagine the intensity of the moment. Mary without sin, loved more deeply, more purely then any other women and mother.; the love between the two was spectacularly holy, deep and pure. Saints have said that with the Presentaion of Jesus at the Temple, Simeon told Mary much about Jesus's future passion. Simeon also said Mary's heart would be pierced also. Again, Mary knows the power of her words and the future suffering her Son and her pain in watching Jesus, her beloved Son, her Savior endure this.

Mary has these virtues: she is humble, faithful and obedient to God ("be done unto me according to thy word"). She is reflective (Luke 2:19). She is full of praise (Luke 1:46-49) for God her savior. She perseveres in the face great challenges and obstacles. She told the servants to do whatever Jesus tells them to do (John 2:1-11). And she showed true devotion and loyalty to Jesus when she stood at the foot of the cross (John 19:25-29). If I were more like her, then I could better serve Jesus and build up His Kingdom on earth.

So true, how many times I would point out that the woman in Revelation was referring to Israel, when it so clearly is not. I believe that John Bergsma , who was also an ex Evangelical pastor, pointed out the same. He said in an interview that he knew that the explanation that it was referring to Israel was “lame”, but what else could it by referencing, Mary? Absolutely not, never. That is a Catholic fallacy. Well, it’s kind of hard to get around. The woman is Mary. She is the New Ark. And just as the Ark was holy and was to respected as something very sacred, so is the Blessed Mother.

In Revelation 12, we see a tableaux with a female figure bearing a child. We know the child is the Messiah by the reference, "destined to rule all the nations with an iron rod" -- which recalls the Messianic prophecy in Psalm 2:7 - "The Lord said to me, 'You are my son; this day I have begotten you. Ask of me and I will give you the nations for an inheritance and the ends of the earth for your possession. You shall rule them with an iron rod; you shall shatter them like an earthen dish.'" Now, if the child in Revelation 12 is Jesus, the woman from whom he issues can only be Mary. Here's why: We see a vision of her in the heavens, clothed in the sun, wearing a crown, a symbol of royalty: "A great sign appeared in the sky, a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. She was with child and wailed aloud in pain as she labored to give birth. Then another sign appeared in the sky; it was a huge red dragon, with seven heads and ten horns, and on its heads were seven diadems. Its tail swept away a third of the stars in the sky and hurled them down to the earth. Then the dragon stood before the woman about to give birth, to devour her child when she gave birth. She gave birth to a son, a male child, destined to rule all the nations with an iron rod. Her child was caught up to God and his throne. The woman herself fled into the desert where she had a place prepared by God, that there she might be taken care of for twelve hundred and sixty days... "When the dragon saw that it had been thrown down to the earth, it pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child. But the woman was given the two wings of the great eagle, so that she could fly to her place in the desert, where, far from the serpent, she was taken care of for a year, two years, and a half-year. The serpent, however, spewed a torrent of water out of his mouth after the woman to sweep her away with the current. But the earth helped the woman and opened its mouth and swallowed the flood that the dragon spewed out of its mouth. Then the dragon became angry with the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring, those who keep God's commands and bear witness to Jesus." Queen of Heaven🤔 Much is made of the title Queen of Heaven by those who attack Catholicism and Marian devotion. The allusion is always to the pagan pantheons and to the mother of the gods, often mother in a very carnal sense of other pagan deities. The Canaanite worship of the "Queen of Heaven" condemned by the prophets is mentioned, as is the worship of Diana of the Ephesians, devotion to whom was exceeding popular before the Gospel arrived among the pagans. It is said that Catholicism at the Council of Ephesus restored this pagan devotion under the cover of devotion to Mary. The history of that Council given above shows the absurdity, and the intellectual dishonesty, of that claim! One might as well claim with respect to Jesus that Christians worship a mere man, since to arrive at this conclusion the Church's teaching must be ripped from its context and distorted to fit a preconceived judgement. What then does it mean for Mary to be the Queen of Heaven? In the Old Testament monarchy the Queen of the Davidic Kingdom was the Queen Mother. The Kings, for reasons of state and human weakness, had many wives, none of whom fittingly could be called Queen. That honor was reserved for the mother of the King, whose authority far surpassed the many "queens" married to the king. We see this is the role Bathsheba played with respect to King Solomon and the occasions when the Queen Mother acted as regent on behalf of juvenile successors to the throne. The role of the Queen Mother, therefore, is a prophetic type of the Kingdom role of Mary, just as the role of the Davidic King is a prophetic type of the Kingdom role of Jesus. Jesus inherited the Kingdom promised to David, who was told that one of his descendants would rule forever. The angel Gabriel revealed this fact to Mary at her Annunciation, Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus. He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give him the throne of David his father, and he will rule over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end." (Luke 1:31-33) Aside from the prophetic types present in the Kingdom of Judah, there is also the text of Psalm 45, which when speaking of the Kingdom of God also speaks of its Queen. [6] Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre. [7] Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. [8] All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad. [9] Kings' daughters were among thy honourable women: upon thy right hand did stand the queen in gold of Ophir. [10] Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father's house; [11] So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him. (Psalm 45:6-11, KJV) That Kingdom ruled by God is the same as the Kingdom ruled eternally by the Son of David. It is not an earthly kingdom, though it is present on earth in the Church, but a heavenly kingdom, the Kingdom of God. The Queen of that Kingdom is the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of the Lord God Jesus Christ The woman spoken of in Revelation 12 is Mary. A few observations: • The woman is a great sign and appears in heaven. This is the Catholic view of Mary--that she has an important role in heaven and in the plan of redemption. • She is clothed with the sun, has the moon under her feet, and a crown of 12 stars. In the passage in Gen 37:9-10 the sun, moon and stars bow down to Joseph. This point is often missed by commentators. Therefore, Mary has a role similar to Joseph's in providing redemption to God's people. Joseph "saved" the Israelites and ruled over them just as Mary "saves" the church and rules over it. • Mary gives birth to the Messiah. This is the only literal meaning of the text. • Satan was cast down to earth as a result of events surrounding Christ's birth. Satan went after the child Jesus with a vengeance as we see in Herod's decree to kill the children. • Mary escapes to the desert--to Egypt, for safety and to protect Jesus. She was there for three and a half years. • Jesus was snatched up to God and His throne at His ascension. • Satan was unable to harm the child Jesus so he went off to destroy the rest of Mary's offspring. Notice who these are--those who obey God's commandments and hold to the testimony of Jesus. Mary's other offspring are the church. She had no other children other than Jesus. She is the spiritual mother of the church.

When God created the Angels, He created them with different levels of Authority, gifts, and closeness to Him. We see the same with humans, as Jesus refenced many times there will be seats of honor at the Table. I am sure that outside the 3 persons of the Trinity/Divinity; among us created creatures the highest position next to God will be that of Mary. In her earthly life no-one (except Jesus of course) was as humble or submitted to the Will of God as perfectly as she did. There is no telling what honors and authorities she has been given in Heaven. We Catholics only make refence to a few of them. _I am sure that outside the 3 persons of the Trinity/Divinity; among us created creatures the highest position next to God will be that of Mary._ I am sure that's false. Mary isn't even listed in the faith chapter of Hebrews, chapter 11. And Mary isn't mentioned again after those couple of chapters in the New Testament Gospels. And Jesus says there is no one greater born of women than John the Baptist. So based on what the Bible says, that won't be the case. But Catholics don't care about what the Bible says. That's why Catholicism is a false religion, not any more legitimate than Mormonism or Islam. *11 “Assuredly, I say to you, **_among those born of women there has not risen one greater than John the Baptist;_** but he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.* _-- Matthew 11:11_

She is the Immaculate Conception who was filled with grace from her first moments, she is the Ark of the New Covenant and the New Eve 3. Mary is the "Theotokos," or the "God-bearer," i.e., the Mother of God 4. Mary remained both sinless and a virgin her entire life 5. Mary will always intercede for us, but she's going to ask for what will be good for us and God's will, like a good mother, not necessarily what we asked for.

Brant Pitre explains it a bit different. "The hour" Christ is referring to is his Bridegroom moment at the last supper when he fully reveals himself as the promised bridegroom of Israel and forms the marriage (New Covenant). Our Lady saw the wedding as a great moment for him to do so, because it was the role of the Groom to provide the Wine. So he let her know it wasn't "that time" yet, but went ahead and performed the miracle as a kind of foreshadowing. So his miracle at the wedding is both "No" and "Yes".

Excellent work, Hugh! Illogical Protestant thinking is the issue, they don’t make much sense, very incoherent which is typical, proving that what they think & believe has consequences! For example, scripture says not to add or remove from scripture but that is not the same as proving sola Scriptura. Authority can be expressed in the context of interpretation & its binding nature Mt 16 18-19 & the power to act in an authoritative manner, like the Magisterium on official teaching on faith & morals. Luther didn’t have authority to add the word ALONE to Rom 3:28, neither to remove 7 books Authority is one of the obvious areas of Protestant inconsistency. They incorrectly stress sola Scriptura which via specific texts, can’t be proven, yet you expect Catholics to prove every aspect of Catholicism. So the authority of false sola Scriptura is your focus & yet the confusion, division & scandal of 000’s of sects caused by unbiblical personal interpretation is not of Jesus who willed unity Jn 17 11-23. Without hierarchy & unifying authority, no entity from family to corporates & govt can be sustainable. Did you give your children & employees unfettered freedom to do what they like without them recognising & respecting your authority? Now think Protestantism, it’s heretical & unworkable! Never has there ever been a contradiction or error on any definitive teaching on faith & morals in the CC for 2000 years. You can’t explain that, or its longevity, in spite of sinful men, other than with divine authority. Why do you reject the Truth, it is what it is! Apart from being unbiblical, sola Scriptura was unworkable for the first 1500 yrs of Christianity as there were no mass printed bibles until the 16th century and, even then, most people were illiterate until recent centuries. From the time of Christ, the deposit of Faith has comprised Sacred Tradition complementing Sacred Scripture under the unifying authoritative interpretation of the Magisterium, guided by the Holy Spirit, a reliable & objective three legged stool that Protestantism obviously lacks. Given the lack of such authority from Jesus, Protestantism clutches futilely at sola Scriptura with an incomplete bible claiming guidance from the Holy Spirit, which is obviously lacking given the scandal of 000’s of sects with their many “truths”, the cause & scourge of relativism in todays woke world! If you can’t see the correlation, give it some thought!

@MrGoreta3407 The scriptures you refer to in context tell us the priority of who true family is, that our family in Christ takes precedence over biological family. It is not about Mary or Christ's relationship with her, but addressing the importance of each of us belonging to Him. It is not refuting the other scriptures I gave. When I was a Protestant I so often had Protestant congregants trying to use scripture against scripture. It is the folly of sola scriptura. The Church came before the New Testament documents were ever collected into a canon. Generation after generation lived and served the Lord for over 3 centuries before the canon of the New Testament was even established. Thus the view of going by scripture alone, is irrational, utterly unhistorical and a fantasy.

@catholicskeptic I'm not sure how you can say it has nothing to do with Jesus's relationship with Mary when Jesus specifically and literally says that anyone that does the will of God is his mother. Likewise, anyone that does the will of God is his brother. This is why Mary and John went on to live together. John and Mary were Mother and Son in the eyes of Christ. It's a direct connection, a complete answer, scripturally backed, and consistent. If this were to symbolize Mary being the Mother of all believers, why didn't Jesus give her to Peter (since catholic-wise, the Church starts with him)? I am not sola scriptura, I just believe (as Catholics say they believe) that the Bible is the Word of God and true.. so the Bible should confirm or at least not contradict extra-biblical assertions. Thank you for your time and I hope we can dig deeper.

Wanna talk about science and the topic of DNA? We all know that each person’s genetic makeup is a combination of both biological parents. In Jesus’ case, His DNA is 100% of His mother since he had no biological father. Saint Joseph was only his adopted father, not biological. So, if one blasphemes against the Blessed Mother of God, one actually blasphemes against God Himself. God gave the commandment of giving honor to your parents. God would be a liar and a hypocrite to have given the commandment but did not follow it Himself, to respect and honor His own mother. Therefore, if His mother is respected and honored by Him, SHOULDN’T we DO the same??? Is she NOT good enough for you? You may get people to come to those churches, and you may have church growth. But you will not have church impact. The reason is that church becomes increasingly like the culture. People go in, see a skit, listen to some music, hear a soothing sermon, and think they have done their Christian duty. @bibleman8010
@bibleman8010 19 дней назад
Then the dragon became angry with the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring, those who keep God's commands and bear witness to Jesus." Queen of Heaven Much is made of the title Queen of Heaven by those who attack Catholicism and Marian devotion. She is the spiritual mother of the church.🤔

Nowhere in Scripture does Jesus or anyone else direct any praise, glory, or adoration toward Mary. The Bible does not specifically tell us to pray to Mary, nor does it teach that she should be worshipped. Nonetheless, the honor given to Mary can deepen a Christian’s faith and bring them closer to God1. While Mary holds an esteemed position in Christianity, it’s essential to recognize that worship should be directed solely toward God. Mary’s role is one of honor and intercession, not as a divine being deserving of prayers. 🙏

We have problems because a language shift has occurred. Protestants do not have worship in the way it was meant in the Old Testament. Thus prayer and worship have become interchangeable. Noone worships Mary, which would involve giving her something back to her on an altar. Prayer is simply "to ask". Yes, people ask Mary to ask Jesus/God for them. That's the act of intercession.

Saw your first video and if you did not see my comments on that one here it is since it is about the same subject. Who defined the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception? Was it a man or was it from the inspired word of God in the Bible? From the Catholic Encyclopedia definition, you read this. The preservation and exemption of the Blessed Virgin Mary from every stain of original sin from the first moment of her conception we declare, pronounce, and define that the most holy Blessed Virgin Mary at the first instance of her conception was preserved Immaculate from all stains of original sin. Now if I can prove to you what the Catholic Encyclopedia has defined Immaculate Conception to be is the same definition as what the Bible says about all of us that we are also preserved and exempt from every stain of original sin from the first moment of our conception. Will you concede that we also are Immaculate Conceived? If I quote these two passages one in Psalm 139:13-14 “For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.” and this passage in Ezekiel 28:15 “You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, Till iniquity was found in you.” Would you say when it says “You formed my inward parts, and fearfully and wonderfully made, and “You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created” does it talk about Mary? Yes, right? Well, not only her but all of us my friend. Now can I take the Catholic Encyclopedia definition and read it this way? The preservation and exemption of all babies from every stain of original sin from the first moment of our conception we declare, pronounce, and define that all at the first instance of our conception were preserved Immaculate from all stains of original sin. Can this also refer to all of us and those who are born today and will tomorrow? Most absolutely. Here are more Bible passages that will completely refute and debunk your notion that the RCC doctrine keeps saying that the Blessed Virgin Mary is the only one born sinless when the Bible says everyone is born sinless. Genesis 1:27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Ecclesiastes 7:29 Truly, this only I have found: That God made man upright, But they have sought out many schemes.” Matthew 18:2-6 Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me. If a child will go to heaven certainly a baby will also, therefore, were not born with a sinful nature. Mark 10:13-16 Then they brought little children to Him, that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them. But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.” And He took them up in His arms, laid His hands on them, and blessed them. Again if a child will go to heaven certainly a baby will also, therefore, were not born with a sinful nature. Romans 9:11 for the children not yet being born, nor having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works but of Him who calls. Now let's bring this further in the future. This dogma of the Immaculate Conception was defined by Pius IX on December 8, 1854. As you can see it was all made up from the go by a man many centuries after Jesus Christ was ascended into heaven and where did this Pius get that idea from? Did he get it from some Mary's apparition where she said she was Immaculate Conceived or by twisting some Scriptures to come up with that idea? Pius finally defined it on December 8, 1854, just before Mary said it herself at the grotto of Lourdes on 25 March 1858, when Saint Bernadette Soubirous asked the name of the mysterious Lady who appeared to her, she replied, “I am the Immaculate Conception.” That is odd Pius said it first before she said it. So he must have got that idea from twisting some Bible passages. Now let's add this up. That could only prove it was not Mary who appeared to Saint Bernadette or ever appeared to any of all her apparitions past and future but it was Satan himself the angel of light. He wants to confirm her apparitions so you Catholics stay firm in her that since you love her so much and you seem not able to live without her or take her out of your mind that you pray, bow down, and worship her on your knees it was his way to make you believe more about her and keep in you so deep in the dark because he did not want to lose you. Another reason it could not be Mary is because she knows we are all born without sin from what God says about us and why would she come and tell us a lie and go against the teaching of God's word that she is the only one sinless and nobody else. It would not make any sense and she would have sinned and now on her way to hell. Now let's refute some of the Bible passages you brought up to support your claim. Luke 1:26 Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!” Luke 1:30 Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. I know why you would read it from Douay-Rheims because like you said it is a Catholic Bible that agrees with you that is why you picked it up but no other Bibles called her “Hail, full of grace, or thou hast found grace with God” but all said “highly favored.” Seems there is a preference to say that because it suits your Catholic doctrine if it did not it would destroy your doctrine so you have to stick to Douay-Rheims. But funny if something is said in the King James Bible that looks good for your doctrine why do you not stay with Douay-Rheims that you need to come in that Bible? Does your Catholic Bible not have it? Anyway, you are outnumbered on this one not too many would agree with you. Your Douay-Rheims Catholic Bible is the only one who says it among all other Bibles. Did you know in Acts 6:8 that Stephen was full of grace. "And Stephen, full of grace and fortitude, did great wonders and signs among the people." Does that mean that Stephen was born sinless and immaculate conceived like Mary? Just because Douay-Rheims was written in 1582 and the King James was written in 1611 does not prove it was translated better or more accurately where most people believe the King James and the New King James version because it is better and the most accurate translation from Hebrews and Greek into English by taken from the original manuscripts. Anyway, I will leave it at that too many things to say it will take too much of my time to say more. Just for me to prove the RCC doctrine of Immaculate Conception does not agree with what the Bible says is enough to show your doctrine is a lie. Now please stop lying you are in danger of going to hell with the rest of the Catholics. If you preach that lies and many lies of the RCC doctrine you will be responsible for sending many with you to hell. Read the Bible properly at its face value and in the context it was written. You have not studied the Bible enough my friend. Come to Christ not to Mary she is dead and her bones are still in the grave.

How do you explain many approved Marian apparitions over the centuries especially Lourdes, Fatima, La Salette, Guadalupe, Akita etc with Mary acting as your son’s messenger with urgent appeals for prayer & repentance as well as prophecies about the current state of the year. You came up with a weak response that will not go well in court. I have given you enough proof with Bible after Bible scriptures with excellent explanations to support what the Bible says about Mary and all of us and you still don't get it and don't want to believe it. You are surely been brainwashed and indoctrinated so deeply that you are blind to the truth that even if Mary would come to you and appeared and said the same thing that I said you still would not believe her because it would destroy the concept of Mary being the only one who was born sinless and you cannot take that chance to believe it because you have invested your whole life to believe in this religion that it would completely break its foundation and destroy that religion that many would get out of it and lose support. You are like a person who has an old ripped sweater that does not keep you warm anymore and would not accept a new one as a gift. That is how silly Catholics have become just like what Jesus said in the Bible you cannot put new wine in an old wine skin bag it will tear. I have to say that Satan has deceived you so much that you cannot escape from his hold and has got you stuck in his evil claws. It is so sad that one who is trying to show the lies of the RCC doctrine to Catholics how dangerous it is for them if they stay in it will send them to hell and to get out before it is too late preferred to stay in it and be damned to hell. Well, my friend, it is your choice but it will be too late after you die there won't be any mercy given to you on your judgment day, and by the way, there is no purgatory that is another lie from the RCC doctrine. Come out from this harlot religion of idol worshippers. All those apparitions would be the same as my explanation to the one at the grotto of Lourdes could only have been done by an unholy spirit like a demon or Satan himself. As you know Satan is an angel of light he can do miracles and could have done it. If he was able to appear to Eve as a serpent he certainly can come appearing as a woman dressed up as Mary. Here let me try to wake you up about the woman in Revelation 12 as being Mary to prove you she is not it is an event that will happen in the future and you are taking it out of context. Let me point out some passages in those verses and let you see it is not about Mary at all. You are trying so hard to use Revelation 12 to prove it is her but let's take a look at it more closely and see if Mary fits the narrative. Revelation 12:1 "And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered." In this verse there are different theological interpretations of the woman mentioned in Revelation 12:1 some say she represents God's people the church (12 Apostles) while others say she represents the nation of Israel ( twelve Tribes of Israel). So the woman clothed with the sun and on her head a crown of 12 stars is a reference to the nation of Israel and the 12 tribes. Why we know that because it is cited in Genesis 37:9 which is also a reference to Israel. Answer me this question. Why then since in Revelation 12:17 the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, If you say this is Mary are you prepared to say that the Virgin Mary Had other children? I don't think so. So from Revelation 12, there is certainly no evidence of Mary's Cosmic queenship. Also if the woman mentioned in this chapter is Mary you would have a hard time explaining Revelation 12:6 because Mary didn't flee to the wilderness and wasn't fed there for one 1,260 days or 1,260 prophetic years according to Ezekiel 4:6. Also, you would have a hard time explaining Revelation 12:13-17 if this woman was Mary there was no mention of Mary being persecuted by the dragon or Satan and none of those events happened to her at all. Revelation 12:13-17 "Now when the dragon saw that he had been cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male Child. But the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent. So the serpent spewed water out of his mouth like a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away by the flood. But the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the flood which the dragon had spewed out of his mouth. And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. Has any of those events ever happened to Mary? As you can see it is not Mary they are talking about it is about newborn saints who persevere and endure persecution under the antichrist rule. As you can see in Revelation 12 it has nothing to do with Mary it is a prophetic event that will happen during the tribulation period of the antichrist and false prophet who wants to kill as many as possible new Christians babe who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. These are the ones who do not want to take the number of the beast 666. This unholy trinity which is the antichrist, false prophet, and Satan is so angry that he does not have much time left which is why he went to make war after them (offspring). Come to Christ not to Mary she is dead in her grave and cannot hear you, talk to you, or answer you, and certainly not the queen of heaven which Revelation 12 proved it. God bless you

@@jpd4676Your problem is that you rely solely on the bible when not everything is in the bible Jn 21:25 ie where is the Trinity described, where does it say that we must go to church, where does it say baptism by immersion or not to baptise infants etc? Lk 1:28 is the basis of the belief in the Immaculate Conception which the early fathers wrote about & that Luther & the reformers believed in. To carry Jesus, Mary had to be pure so God saved her from the stain of original sin at the moment of her conception as with God, all things are possible. Praying to the dead is strictly forbidden in the Bible. Deuteronomy 18:11 tells us that anyone who “consults with the dead” is “detestable to the Lord.” The story of Saul consulting a medium to bring up the spirit of the dead Samuel resulted in his death “because he was unfaithful to the LORD; he did not keep the word of the LORD and even consulted a medium for guidance” (1 Samuel 28:1-25; 1 Chronicles 10:13-14). Clearly, God has declared that such things are not to be done.

Necromancy is not asking the saints in Heaven to pray for you. Necromancy is conjuring the dead, via the use of a medium, as in Samuel for some advantage. If you read the passage you're quoting, Saul conjures up Samuel for the purposes of advance information. Samuel gives it to him, much to his chagrin. If you ask to friends to pray for you, then the act of asking the saints to pray is the same. EXCEPT that the saints we know God will listen to, if they choose to pray. (And they can choose.) So what was your family's excuse and yours for not reading Scripture The Church forcefully and specifically exhorts all the Christian faithful . . . to learn the surpassing knowledge of Jesus Christ, by frequent reading of the divine Scriptures. Ignorance of the Scriptures is ignorance of Christ. Catechism Of the Catholic Church😆 Pope St. Gregory I (died 604 AD) “The Emperor of heaven, the Lord of men and of angels, has sent you His epistles for your life’s advantage-and yet you neglect to read them eagerly. Study them, I beg you, and meditate daily on the words of your Creator. Learn the heart of God in the words of God, that you may sigh more eagerly for things eternal, that your soul may be kindled with greater longings for heavenly joys.” Pope Clement XI (1700 - 1720) To forbid Christians to read Sacred Scripture, especially the Gospels, is to forbid the use of light to the sons of light, and to cause them to suffer a kind of excommunication. Pope Pius VI (April 1st 1778 AD) “the faithful should be excited to the reading of the Holy Scriptures: for these are the most abundant sources which ought to be left open to every one, to draw from them purity of morals and of doctrine” Pope Pius VII (1800 - 1823) "encourage their people to read the Holy Scriptures ; for nothing can be more useful, more consoling, and more animating, because they serve to confirm the faith, to support the hope, and to influence the charity of the true Christian." Pope Leo XIII (1893) “The solicitude of the apostolic office naturally urges and even compels us…to desire that this grand source of Catholic revelation (the Bible) should be made safely and abundantly accessible to the flock of Jesus Christ” Pope Pius X (1903 - 1914) “Nothing would please us more than to see our beloved children form the habit of reading the Gospels - not merely from time to time, but every day.” Pope Benedict XV (1914 - 1922) “Our one desire for all the Church’s children is that, being saturated with the Bible, they may arrive at the all-surpassing knowledge of Jesus Christ” Pope Pius XII (1943) “... This author of salvation, Christ, will men more fully know, more ardently love and more faithfully imitate in proportion as they are more assiduously urged to know and meditate the Sacred Letters, especially the New Testament ...” Pope John Paul II (1979) “catechesis must be impregnated and penetrated by the thought, the spirit and the outlook of the Bible and the Gospels through assiduous contact with the texts themselves” Pope Benedict XVI (2006) “I urge you to become familiar with the Bible, and to have it at hand so that it can be your compass pointing out the road to follow. By reading it, you will learn to know Christ.” Pope Francis (2015) “The Bible is not meant to be placed on a shelf, but to be in your hands, to read often - every day, both on your own and together with others” Gee, good thing you don’t like condescending emails, right? Jesus’ mother was there, 2 and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. 3 When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no more wine.” 4 “Woman,[a] why do you involve me?” Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet come.” 5 His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.” 6 Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons.[b] 7 Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water”; so they filled them to the brim. 8 Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.” They did so, 9 and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside 10 and said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.” 11 What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs through which he revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him. But you don't disciple of Satan🤢🤢

Would you say the same of the reformers who upheld the perpetual virginity of Mary? Luther's Smalcard Articles affirmed Mary's perpetual virginity ('ever virgin'). So did Wycliffe, Zwingli, and Bullinger in their own right. Even Calvin was of the opinion that 'until' and 'firstborn son' in Matthew 1:25 did not necessarily contradict the doctrine. (Calvin, Commentary on Matthew 1:25). He concluded that we are simply not told what happened after Christ's birth. The doctrine is older than the Canon of the Bible, going by what St Jerome wrote in Against Helvidius. He alluded that Polycarp, Ignatius, Irenaeus, and Justin Martyr all wrote 'volumes' on the topic with 'replete wisdom'. They are the earliest fathers of the Church after the Apostles (even if the 'volumes' are lost to posterity). You need to re-evaluate where honesty and truth resides.

Unfortunately, I worry that we give her all too high an honor for she is accorded much more esteem than she should be given or than she accounted to herself. So from this comes two abuses. First Christ is diminished by those who place their hearts more upon Mary than upon Christ himself. In doing so Christ is forced into the background and completely forgotten. The other abuse is that the poor saints here on earth are forgotten. I would allow a high regard for Mary and her praise, just so long as you do not get carried away and consider making a law out of it so that she must be honored as a condition for your salvation. For the Scriptures have recorded nothing about her birth or life. So your hearts must not be placed upon her and she must not be exalted above her proper status. The monks invented all this abuse. They wanted to praise the woman. They have used Mary as an excuse to invent all kinds of lies by which she could be used to establish their twaddle. They have used Scriptures to drag Mary by the hair and force her to go where she never intended. For the Gospel that is read today reveals Christ's nativity, not Mary's. See how many lies have come out of this which we can in no way tolerate. I can surely allow her to be honored but not in a way that belies the Scriptures." Fr Martin Luther

Are you claiming that Mary can obtain from Jesus something He would not have done without her specifically influencing Him? Are there good things Jesus is withholding from a Christian until Mary's intercession is obtained? Mary took no credit herself. God said she was blessed. Blessed by Him (Luke 1:46-49). @philoalethia 20 дней назад
Hugh criticizes others for oversimplified arguments against things like evolution, then proceeds to immediately reject and make an oversimplified argument against "solo scriptura." SIGH Christian apologetics is little more than a ridiculous dumpster fire these days. ---------------------- Hugh pretends that "solo scriptura" means that only those things taught in the Bible can be required for Christian doctrine. Conversely, some take this to mean that anything NOT taught in the Bible should NOT be required of Christians. He then mocks this as internally contradictory (since the Bible nowhere makes such a claim), and also makes a rather confused genetic appeal about the origin of the Bible. Specifically, he asserts that one cannot be certain that what the Bible contains is true or complete apart from having certainty about the Bible's content, which he says is a product of the Roman Catholic Church. The truth, however, is that no serious Christian theologian/philosopher/scholar truly holds to Hugh's strawman position. He might find amateurs who sloppily express as much, and Hugh may once have believed thus, but it is not the general position. By sola scriptura (or "Scripture Alone") what the thoughtful Christian means is that Scripture -- especially the gospels and NT writings -- is the best and most reliable record we have of what Jesus said and did, and what the apostles and some early Christians wrote, said, and did. Indeed, one might go so far as to say that it is the only accurate record we have from the apostolic period. Some will add claims about Scripture being the sole infallible source of such things, but this is not helpful or necessary. Now, it is quite difficult to discern what in that position is false or worthy of Hugh's mockery. However, his mockery is understandable, for he is a member of a church that teaches things that are not found in Scripture -- at least not explicitly -- and that claims that belief in such things is normative/necessary for salvation. If you are going to be a part of church that proclaims things not clearly found in the words and teachings of Christ and the apostles, nor found in the witness of the early Church, and if you are going to claim not only that others are wrong on these but will be condemned for their beliefs, and ESPECIALLY if you are going to make claims about knowing yourself to be correct, then one would think you'd be able to do better than just mocking others and toppling down strawmen.

He's discussed Sola Scriptura in other videos. Taken objectively as possible, the attempt to replicate the practice and teaching of the Christian faith from the documents of the NT, even with the OT as reference, is an exercise in futility. The NT is exactly: 4 biographies of Jesus, a record of the very earliest Church that abruptly ends almost randomly, and open public correction letters from some of the apostles, but mostly Paul. Edit: And a book of Revelation written down by John. All the descriptions of the practice are indirect at best. We have some reasonably clear directions on morals on some topics but not others. But people have spent lifetimes looking for what so emphatically is not there to be found. 🤷‍♀️ What is documented there is the concept of Church, whom Jesus founded on a man renamed "Rock". Perhaps inside of combing an empty tomb looking clues (reading the NT without help), maybe it might have been more helpful to find the fellow who claimed to have replaced Jesus's Rock.

Mary was blessed " among women." Notice that she was blessed among women plural. Mary Magdalene was given a larger role in the bible. You choose to ignore the fact that Jesus never called Mary anything but woman. When Jesus was notified that his mother and brothers were outside seeking Him. He said these that were listening to him were his mother and his brothers. Lest you forget Mary was not designated " Queen of Heaven" by the catholic church until 1954. Luke 1:48 - "All generations will call me blessed". Not a bunch of women, but "me". That Mary Magdalene was given a larger role in the Bible means almost nothing. Peter was given a huge role. Does it matter and how much? Most Protestants basically say "Peter who?" Jesus' calling almost all the women he meets "woman" I suspect has to do with Him being the New Adam, and nothing more than that. The passage you talk about absolutely suggests that Jesus is the New Adam who lacks normal sibling and parent relationships. Lastly, the Catholic Church merely dogmatizes existing teaching. "Queen of Heaven" is there in Revelation. But anti-marion sentiments, being what they are and were appeared to have reached a new recent peak. Thus the formal announcement. Not all doctrine has been dogmatised & is usually only done so when deemed necessary, perhaps for example because of doubt. If Elijah & Elisha were taken up to heaven, all the more would Jesus do this for His mother. Mary, who was saved at the moment of her conception had to be immaculate as the Theotokos. In addition, she lived a sinless life as the first Christian & our role model. Mary is the Queen Mother (type of Esther) & the woman of Rev 12. If you don’t believe this, where are her relics?

2:49 the Bible alone is the only INFALLIBLE source of authority. Protestants still believe their church has authority over them. You started off by remind us to make sure we know what we're arguing against, and then misrepresented sola scriptura 3:32 yeah, it took until 382 to get a completely consistent canon, but that doesn't mean we didn't know any New Testament scripture before then. 2 Peter is already referring to Paul's writings as scripture and that's around 70 AD, the early church largely agreed on a lot of things being scripture very early on. It just took until 382 to get the few fuzzy lines sorted out. 4:39 we don't believe we need scripture for every little thing. Authorities like the church or our parents if we're young are real authorities. But we do believe that matters of faith should have their grounding in scripture. That doesn't mean it has to be mentioned explicitly, but the basis should be able to be derived from there. That's what Paul was talking about when telling people how to identify false teachings: compare it to what you've already been given. Not that the teaching they'd been given would cover everything, but that the basis for understanding should be there. 5:46 8:02 hey now, the first miracle Jesus ever performed was Creation, Mary wasn't around yet. Just poking a little fun : ) Agree with your second point, it's ridiculous when some Protestants say Jesus turned water into grape juice so that it doesn't contradict their belief that alcohol shouldn't be had 11:51 why is it some big problem if Mary has other kids? You make it sound like Joseph and Mary engaging in the exact purpose for which marriage was created would be some kind of unholy insult to Jesus. Having additional kids is not "moving it along" after Jesus, it's the miracle of life. I wouldn't be relating Mary's womb to the temple to support the idea that no one else could enter, the temple could be entered once per year. You say "this was a very very sacred thing" as if that would prevent future sacred things like the miracle of life from happening. Protestants believe Jesus's birth was very very sacred too, we just don't think holy marital behaviors would bring any shame upon that. 13:04 your argument is that because soldiers gambling was fulfillment of prophecy, that means that Jesus had to have a grand celestial meaning for telling John to take care of Mary? I don't think I'm straw-manning that argument, I'm not following at all. Jesus's words were "vitally important, necessary statements" as you put it. But that doesn't mean we have to understand them to mean Mary is all of our mothers. Taking him to mean that he trusted John more than his own brothers (or half-brothers if you're Roman Catholic) is a hugely significant statement without having to turn it into a statement about Mary and the rest of creation. 16:18 Revelation 12 doesn't say it's talking about Israel, therefore it must be talking about Mary, who it also doesn't say it's talking about? This goes both ways, to interpret something as symbolic as Revelation you need to back up your interpretation, no matter what you think. There's some good reasons to think it's Mary, and there's some good reasons to think it's Israel. But don't argue that it doesn't explicitly mention Israel when it doesn't mention Mary either. It can also represent both those things at once. If it's only Mary and not Israel, why use all the Israel imagery? Did God just include the detail about the stars for no reason, he just picked 12 because it would look good on Mary's head? 19:50 if we don't take the Roman Catholic interpretation of Revelation 12, it suddenly becomes an unsolvable puzzle? It HAS to be Mary alone, nothing else makes logical sense? Hugh, that's a pretty bold claim for something as complicated as Revelation. Do the Protestant scholars who study this stuff just throw out rational thinking when they read this because they're all so afraid it might make them Roman Catholic? 20:46 what a ridiculous statement. We don't ignore things in scripture when we don't have an immediately apparent meaning for them. That's most of scripture. Churches are allowed to interpret things, we just believe they can make mistakes from time to time. 27:11 we've heard about some people seeing Mary as an apparition, therefore everything the Roman Catholic church teaches about her is right? What if Mary appeared to an evangelical church, would that mean God is telling them they're right? 28:41 When did Jesus give the keys to just Peter and not the other apostles?

It's not as though Hugh is doing a lot of innovating in this video." There's no innovating to be done, truthfully. Many Protestants are hanging to one or more errors that the early Church discussed, dogmatized the orthodoxy, and moved on from. We're having a discussion that in many ways is a over a thousand years old. Marion theology pops up almost immediately in the early Church. People were rejecting title "Mother of God" because they did not accept the full divinity of Christ. Modernly those connections are more hidden, but they do exist. Many Protestants really are struggling on some level with the full Divinity of Christ. They've accepted his humanity, but the struggle on His other nature is very real. "they might just become that much more solidified that theirs is the only viewpoint that's rational and not think about anything (see Hugh's other videos with titles like "Deprogramming the Protestant Mind", "Protestants Can't Experience True Worship", and "Protestants are completely Irrational")." I've shadowed just Catholic channels for years. I'm not trolling other Christians. The amount of vitriol, repetitive arguments, lack of Scripture knowledge, and quite often just outright arrogance from Protestants trying to "save us" boggles the mind. Maybe 1 in 10 is here to seriously ask questions. The rest are here to save us from supposed acts of idolatry, that Heaven help me, they would not recognize if I pointed it out to them. When I find sincere Catholics, I find sanity. The IRL Catholics I know are not perfect, but they are content and having human problems. Unless they are in the process of rejecting the Church, marble loss is not an issue. Thankfully I am not judging by online presence, but the same does not appear to be said entirely for Protestants. Again, your posts show a great deal of intelligence and kindness. However, it's not the norm, at least online. Protestants need to hear some of the ideas that they mostly seem to project onto Catholics. If nothing else, a vague awareness of how they generally talk about Catholics and how it sounds like to be on the receiving end is helpful.
