This was a great movie!

I never cry during movies but damn that "can I cry now?" scene got me sobbin bruh. What an amazing movie.

I find it kinda surprising yall didnt notice, but like 3 times throughout the movie, Haru walked by the tv, and the serial stabbings were always being mentioned. It was being foreshadowed, oh so subtly.

At the end of the movie it isn't Kyoko and Haruki that are dating, it's Gum boy and Kyoko, which is why Kyoko had the gum. Also, that "Storybook art" was an imitation of the Little Prince's art. The Little Prince was Sakura's favorite book.

I went into this movie saying "I already know the girl dies and that it's sad but I'll watch it ig" only to have all of my expectations subverted throughout the entire movie. The first scene being her funeral already threw me off and I ended up loving the moving. Glad to see yall watched it. Edit: For those saying I spoiled the movie for them, i didn't spoil anything lmao, they show she dies in the first 5 seconds of the movie, relax. Also idk why ppl who haven't seen the movie are even watching the video to begin with, much less reading the comments 💀. Go away heathens.

I like how Roshi keeps begging Sheera for a wok instead of just getting one himself. She the real QUEEN 👑 of the house

the "can i cry now?" line to me is equivalent to Ishida's(a silent voice) promise to be better and to look others in the eye when he's holding on to shouko at the balcony

The gut-punch this movie delivers us by subverting our expectations on how she dies is truly amazing. It's so subtle too because it was just barely established in a backround news story that there was a murderer/serial killer roaming the streets stabbing young women but its so quick and unassuming that you don't really even notice it and yet it establishes that she didn't just get killed randomly, it was setup the entire time.

"Fireworks" is another masterpiece "Josee the tiger and the fish" 10/10 masterpiece "Belle" 10/10 masterpiece "Garden of words" 10/10 masterpiece There are so many great movies out there🔥🔥🔥

A bit of correction: The dating part after the post credit scene is between the girl and the bubble gum guy not Haruki. Haruki is just friends with them and trying to patch them up.

The way him and Sakura's best friend came together at the end had me tearing up. She wanted them to be friends and knew they'd get along so sad she was murdered like wtf... This movie had me in tears 😭

This is one of my favorite movies for many reasons -- the well-done execution; the cry scene, and the letter scene's subtle references to The Little Prince (my favorite book). Glad you enjoyed it!

I remember watching this film, and i immediately read the light novel and it still broke me. You get more of his thoughts and just their relationship was so good. Really makes you think that you truly never know when you're going to die, and it was such a good message.

My eyes watered up a few times but the scene that absolutely crushed my soul is when Hiruki said "Can I cry now". I was a flood of tears the second those words came out of him.

Bro, this movie actually foked me up so bad my mom was like "Y u crying so much? Someone bully u?" And my mom now continues to pick on me cuz I cried for a "Japanese Cartoon".

Although my favorite anime movie is A Silent Voice, this movie really hits the heart like no other.

I think it is amazing how this movie starts by showing you her funeral, preparing you for what's to come and yet manages to make me cry every time even though i know what's comming.

Probably one of my favorite anime romance movies. I wrote a paper on this for my foreign film class so i had to rewatch it, and in the paper i basically talked about the whole difference between his attitude on life and her attitude and how the film uses light and shadow to depict the differences, etc. probably the only paper i've actually 100% enjoyed writing. Just realized how many little things there were that added to the story.

i just watched this movie, i cried, and..loved it, the ending and after credits were beautiful. i can relate to both the guy and girl, like the guy in school i was quiet and antisocial,not wanting to/ avoiding being with others,i remember first day of highschool, i was shaking uncontrollably because i didnt want to be around others and my parents not understanding got mad at me. but just like the girl i for some reason could make friends with anyone,any groups, and any type of person. sadly when schooo ended so did all those friendships, i guess..i tried to create them and didnt try to keep them. now i only have one irl friend. this movie is..beautiful, i hope, just like the guy in the ending and spoilers for the after credits obviously, i can make even more friends and live

This is without a doubt my fav anime movie of all time

I feel like her getting killed by something random was actually really beautiful in it's own right, though. Like, you spend the whole movie knowing she's going to die. Our main protagonist also spends all that time counting down the days until the illness takes over. And her dying before the illness gets to her, it just further signifies just how meaningful every moment we have with our loved ones is. Because you DON'T know when that last day is going to be, no one is guaranteed even one more day. And often times people get so wrapped up in the sadness and pain of realizing that they are going to lose a loved one, they forget that no one is guaranteed 1 more year to live. All the illness does is make life mean more significant, because suddenly life is on a timer...but that's the funny thing. LIFE IS ALWAYS ON A TIMER. Any one of us could go at any point, and them ending the movie like that was really significant to me. I really love the symbolism in this movie
