What a brilliant follow up to your earlier video. I really enjoyed them both. SMOM was a great addition. As you mentioned, for some reason it isn’t recognised by the UK. And the People’s Embassy of Belarus was a fascinating one to include.

Thank you! Really glad you liked it! It was fun to make. As I alluded to at the end, I had thought I had found pretty much every possible entry in this series, at least in London, but in the last few days I've found several more (of course) so there might be a Part 3 yet!

Thanks! I was disappointed that more of the embassies I visited in this video weren't flying flags - I encountered more in the first video I made. Did you see the flag that looked like a quilt flying next to the Bolivian flag? It's a special flag representing the indigenous people of Bolivia. Would make a great video topic....

Thanks for including Hong Kong, idk why they don't have the flags up but perhaps to avoid protestors throwing things at them? Hong Kong also has an office in Beijing with the flag up, obviously no fear of protestors gathering outside there.

Really glad you liked it! I think it showed, but the Belarus protest got a bit emotional. You could feel the anger and frustration that the Belarusian government was just ignoring everyone they don't agree with. I wasn't at all sure what I would find when I got to the JKLF office. I had been hoping there would be someone I could chat with, but I had to make do with a Tamarind drink instead! I really hope they respond to my emails soon...

@FredoRockwell
@FredoRockwell 2 года назад
Glad you liked it! 34 Belgrave Square (the former East German embassy) is used for several things from what I can tell, but most notably it's the HQ for the British-German Association (www.britishgermanassociation.org/). Honestly, I'd never heard of this organization before this video, so it's not a massively prominent thing. I wonder if it would even exist if the German government didn't have a large building in a prominent location to do stuff with.

lol free territory of triest (TLT) is somewhat a middle ground between a parodistic joke and some delusion of overgrown men. I mean, they even have a point, legally speaking seem they talk truth and let say italy is not the best economic environment now a day, also when they go on some stuns they are pretty funny... but there is a small a mount of people who actually think somehow they will be granted their own state as gift and this will be free of all taxes and full of income (more or less) and that turn on the cringe easy propagandistic ground verge. Hi from Trieste. Fun video.

@@FredoRockwell truth is that since beginning of WWI and the end of the WWII Trieste has been juggled by all the sides involved in the conflict and, as the Giulie region is where german slavic and latin culture merge (mitteleurope), It has been the stage for many very importante events in that period. We gone from being the main austroungaric empire port to Italy. From here the famous writer D'Annunzio moved his autonomous troupes and started the occupation of Fiume/Rijeka. Despite him behing pretty much libertarian but also very passionate for "self-determination of people" principle and proud promoter of Italian culture, this ended up to be the ispiration for a bold dude named Benito. When the bold ass was being kicked the little Adolf's mustacho moved in. His germanic productivity added to the city infrastructures as the only concentration camp with a crematory hoven on Italian soil. So went the turn of Tito's army with New Zeland allies, this added the "benefits" of further war crimes as the massacre of the "foibe" and the exodus of the people with Italian origin from other istrian territory. That's when a "free" zone protectorate of anglo/american management was instituted for the so called "A-zone" comprehending Trieste and some more territory, while the further istrian lands as Capodistria called "B-zone" was managed by Tito and later become part of today Slovenia. This was probably the most tense period as the cold war was rageing and this was a juicy field where to fight it. My grandparents would recall this period as the worst for the majority of common folks. As strange as it may seem even if the worst dictatorship that past "gifted" to them had an AIM for productivity, organization, some kind of social welthare and if you where lucky enought not to be in some persecuted minority you could even live somehow with not too much fear. But after that it was just a messa and anybody felt threaten, expecially if One of the 2 sides could claim victory. That's when the people from Trieste rised, the main square was flooded assaulting the palaces where the anglo/american command center was. There as been some death but at the end the English army left the region and in the while the fear for the jugoslavian revenge on italians forced even the left party in Trieste to side against the idea of welcoming Tito's troupes menacing to join the Italian army. This is when in the middle of the chaos the choice have been to let things go quiet, Tito kept B-zone and A-zone moved back to Italy. Citizens wished to see old age, paperwork was not the concerne of anybody at that time and the big characters as UN and USSR wasn't exactly interested into keep pokeing at this ticking bomb. Fun fact: D'Annunzio is the one that created the word "holocaust". His best friend and second man in the occupation of Fiume/Rijeka was Guido Keller. He was a very "outstanding" one. He was a WWI aviator, advocated for naturism, had an Eagle as a pet, is said to use to sleep on trees and walk naked the landing zone. During the time of the occupation he printed a panflet called Yoga on various phylosophycal, ealthcare and spiritual topics. The "logo" used near the title was what we later saddly come to know as swastika. In a demostrative act he flew his plane from Fiume/Rijeka to Rome and throw a chamberpot on Italian parliament's and roses on the queen home's respective roofs. When Mussolini took power he reportedly said something along the lines "i don't like him either, i rather go to south America to fight the spread of american driven dictatorships". He died in a car accident near Rome later in his life. The "carnaro's paper" was a sort of costitution written during Fiume/Rijeka times by them. It granted freedom for gay marriage, prostitution, drug use and any political view and expression of it. That's really odd as the world often turn upsidedown.

@@FredoRockwell The Hawaiian Independence movement is not a funny topic, it was sarcasm. The independence of Hawaii should be restored after it was unrightfully taken away. @harryrtt I'm not sure what the issue is re the BVI. It's listed on the UN list of non-self-governing territories. Technically it's not called a colony, but that's what it effectively is.
