Here is a treat that I was not expecting. I came across seeing this amazing racing car back on the Saturday of the 2019 CSRG David Love Vintage Races at Sonoma Raceway. This is the first outing in 30 years with driver Alan Terpins. This car was prepared by Retro Sport out of Berkeley California. I loved seeing this enthralling racing car. This is a great 935. Winner of the Giro d'Italia in 1979 and the last Porsche factory 935 built with a 930 chassis number. Last race prior to this video was the Daytona 24 Hours in 1986.

The 935 is my absolutely favorite car of all times. I had no idea of the placement of the intercoolers. Fun to see even on this car checking for intake leaks and giving those 13mm nuts an extra little crank. Great to see and hear all those 2002s and Alfas on the track.

I love this car I remember eating spaghetti in Morettis pit during the Riverside six hours with all the Penthouse models roaming around oh to be young and free again those were great days for me. RIP. Gianpiero Moretti.

That's funny. Gianpiero had this car in the paddock of Road America with a for sale sign on it. The 935's were retired now. A dentist Porsche friend of mine was interested in purchasing it and asked if I would accompany him to look it over and talk with Gianpiero. He invited us into his motorhome to discuss the car and offered us a plate of spaghetti he was enjoying at the moment. He must have made the stuff by gallons!

This idle could load intake with fuel. No big smoke so perfect tuning.

Like the old Chevy hauler in the back. And the Porsche, of course. I saw many 935's at Pocono back in '81, but I don't remember this one. I seem to remember a Momo one-off GTP car at Watkins Glen around '86-'88 powered by Audi. Is this accurate or is my memory a bit fuzzy?

I could be wrong but is that just one exhaust connected from both sides of the engine into one tip and the wastegate next to it ? Or am I trippn it seems like two different exhausts 🤷🏽‍♂️

Testing for intake leaks I guess. Runs awesome at idle. Should make 700+hp
