God works in there hearts because he is already in their hearts, just like he is in your heart. You don’t have to be THE true church to have the spirit of God in you. He loves all of his children and if you want and accept him into your life his spirit will be with you. I am LDS and I have come to and understanding with other faiths and what they believe, i wish that more Christian’s could understand other faiths as well and know that they are on their own journey to find God, and that might mean they want nothing to do with it but maybe one day their eyes will open and they will see that god is and was always there for them, they just had to seek him out. The best advice I can give to anyone trying to show some the truth is to be patient and content with who they are and what they believe and they will see something special (Holy Ghost) in you and want to know what you know and their door to god will open. Be their for them and look at them how our savior looks at them. Sorry this was a little long I’ve been thinking about it lot. My grammar isn’t that good either so sorry if it looks confusing. Have an awesome day

Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect. And... do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit. Or do you pray to the Holy Spirit who you also believe is one person out of three in God?? like seriously I’m so curious who do you pray to add to the three that you believe in God do you pray to Jesus, the Lord or the Holy Spirit? Please answer me I’m so curious 🤭🤭🤭🤭
@jodyeggleston6045
@jodyeggleston6045 Год назад
Well, I can see that you are confused by the concept of the Trinity. While there’s no question that it’s difficult to understand with our human minds (and to explain! 😬), there’s also no question that it’s what the Bible tells us about who God is. Biblical Christianity teaches that God is three in one. We know that there is only one God, but we also know from Scripture that the Father is God (John 6:27, Romans 1:7, 1 Peter 1:2); Jesus is God (John 1:1 & 14, Romans 9:5, Colossians 2:9, Hebrews 1:8, 1 John 5:20); and the Holy Spirit is God (Acts 5:3-4; 1 Corinthians 3:16). We also adamantly believe that the Father is not Jesus or the Holy Spirit, the Son is not the Father or the Holy Spirit, and The Holy Spirit is not the Son or the Father. God is three co-existent, co-eternal Persons who are ONE God. We believe they have always existed together, as One, from eternity past to eternity future, which is why God calls himself “Elohim” in the Old Testament, which is the PLURAL form of God in Hebrew. Deuteronomy 6:4 says, “Hear O Israel, the YHWY (LORD) our Elohim (Gods) is one YHWY (LORD). Whenever Jesus said, such as in John 8:58, “I tell you the truth, before Abraham was, I AM” He was calling Himself God. There’s only one way that makes sense! (The Jews understood He was calling Himself God, which is why they picked up stones to kill him for blasphemy.) Our God is three in one. (Definitely NOT three separate Gods, or One God who can change into one of the other two when He needs to, or any of the other heretical beliefs that have been taught down through the ages.) So, the answer to your question, would be that we pray to God. Bible allows us to pray to one or all three of the distinct Persons of our God (or “The Trinity”) since they are all God. I personally typically address The Father, through the Son (because His sacrifice on the cross allows me to go directly to God - I don’t need a priest since the veil to the Holy of Holies in the temple was torn at His death, signifying that the barrier is no longer between myself and God, since I now have Jesus’ righteousness given to me), and by the power of the Holy Spirit. When we pray to One, we are praying to all Three - we are praying to the God of the Bible, as difficult as that is for our tiny minds to grasp, so that we can glorify Him, thank Him, and worship Him for His goodness, grace (giving us what we don’t deserve - such as eternal life with Him), mercy (NOT giving us what we DO deserve once we are saved, which would be eternal death and separation from God), His kindness, provision, etc. We also ask Him for what we need for ourselves and others, confess our sins, etc. God is more wonderful, more powerful and more beautiful than I will ever understand - “His ways are not my ways”; but if He weren’t, He wouldn’t be God!! ❤️

@Jody Eggleston: Please explain to me the situation in Acts 7 verses 56 and 57. Also, I’m interested in your take on John 17 verses 11-23. If you can understand these, I think you’ll begin to understand a Latter-Day Saints viewpoint.
@jodyeggleston6045
@jodyeggleston6045 Год назад
@@michaelnicholas5587 Of course! By “explain to me the situation” at the end of Acts 7, I’m assuming you don’t mean why the Pharisees wanted to stone Stephen for blasphemy - I’m guessing you’re referencing the fact that his vision is that of Jesus standing at the right hand of God, and how could he be if he IS God, correct? First of all, we need to remember that this is a VISION Stephen is having, and secondly, he reports seeing the “glory of God” so we don’t really know exactly what he saw - light, maybe? We know that “God is Spirt, and those who worship Him must worship in Spirit and in truth.” (John 4:24), and we know that no man has seen God (John 1:18, 1 John 4:12), so what exactly did Stephen see? I don’t know, but somehow he saw the glory of God, and Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit, and he was comforted. We also know that Jesus had to “take on flesh” in order to become our sacrifice, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory…” (John 1:14) Isaiah 9:6, “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be on his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The prince of Peace.” Matthew 1:23 “Behold a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which is God With Us.” He LOWERED Himself to take on human flesh. Luke 24:39 says Jesus was resurrected with a physical body, and ascended in that body, so it stands to reason that he still has a physical body in Heaven, “For a spirit does not have flesh and bone as you see that I have.” Jesus of course, has a resurrected body, so His is different than mine, but the same as mine will be when I myself am resurrected. Perhaps part of Jesus’ sacrifice for me is that he maintains the form of a human forever?(See Philippians 3:21). The New Testament says multiple times that Jesus also had/has God’s glory - I most certainly will not have God’s glory. John 1:18 says “No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten (or “unique” in Greek) God who is in the bosom of the Father, He has explained Him”. As the Bible repeatedly tells us that Jesus is God - see the above verses, John 1:1, etc., we must believe that it is true. Our God is Three in One, just no getting around it, as difficult as the concept may be - it’s what the Bible teaches. (BTW, there are also many verses in your own Book of Mormon that affirm the Trinity: 2 Nephi 31:21, Mosiah 15: 1-5, 3 Nephi 11:27, Mormon 7:7.).
@michaelnicholas5587
@michaelnicholas5587 Год назад
@@jodyeggleston6045 Yes, God is spirit, but aren't we all spirits? We are all spirits housed in bodies. Stephen said he saw Jesus standing on the right hand of God. I'm taking that as he saw two personages. Why is it so hard to comprehend that God has a body? Are we not made in His image? None of the verses in the Book of Mormon affirm the Trinity the way mainstream Christianity sees it. Again, I will refer to John 17:21, which says, "That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe thou hast sent me" KJV. He continues in verse 22 with, "And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one." Can we all be one being? No, He is talking about oneness in purpose, and that purpose is to bring about the immortality and eternal life of man. Our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and The Holy Ghost form the Godhead, in which all are one God with one purpose, but are each an entity of their own. As one who has been to many different denominational churches, I have found that there are so many biblical topics and questions that cannot be answered in mainstream churches. Above all, they seem to have no idea of why we are here, how we got here, what we are doing here, and where we are going. What do you think you will be doing in Heaven when you are resurrected?

What always confuses me with the Mormons is that they think they can be Gods yet they call Satan the adversary. Satan’s greatest desire is to be God and his original sin that got him cast down from heaven is no different from what their saying they’d become. They really have no grounds or justification to rebuke Satan because ultimately their saying they can be God the same way he did so I don’t really know how they can reconcile that🤷🏾‍♂️🤔

They just deny it. The verse where it talks about satan wanting to be like the most high they twist into their belief that Satan wanted to be like Jesus who was the most high because in the preexistence he was chosen over satan to be the savior. That’s where they change the Bible. They don’t believe satan wanted to be God. They say he wanted to be the savior over Jesus but Jesus was chosen instead. Whenever they say this view though I point them to the places in the Bible where God is referred to as the most high and then genesis where satan says that Adam and Eve can be like God. Literally the exact same promise the LDS church gives. It’s the gospel of Satan

@@xxdarkwolf20xx60 Why is it so hard to fathom that we can become like our Heavenly Father given that if we have faith in Jesus Christ we can become joint-heirs with Him (Romans 8:17). What does this mean? After all, we are the sons of God. As a father do you not want your children to have the best of everything you have? Why would our Heavenly Father, whose love we cannot comprehend want anything less for His children? By the way, Satan did not lie when he told Adam and Eve could be like God in knowing good and evil, the lie came when he told them they would not surely die.

@@michaelnicholas5587 well, that's a great question that requires a very long answer. But to simplify it, the Mormons claim they believe the Bible is true. However, the Bible clearly states there is one God and there are none before him and none after him. Yet, the Mormons believe that you can become a god. They believe Jesus is a god but not one with the father. They believe many things that come from the Book of Mormon that directly contradict the Bible. So while I have to say that ultimately I believe what I believe based on evidence and faith. I know that what they believe cannot be true purely based on logic. I may be wrong about what I believe. But I know that they can't be right in that their own supposed belief system collapses on itself.

@@chainsawkarate We do believe the Bible is true. For us there is one God, and we must follow him in spirit. We do believe Jesus is God because He is one with the Father, not in body, but in spirit and purpose. I see nothing in the Book of Mormon that contradicts the Bible, in fact I believe it clears up much of the biblical doctrine that is hard to be understood. Let's take a look at John 17:21-23. 21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. 22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: 23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. Can we all be one physically? Can I be in you and you in me? Can I physically be in Jesus and He be physically in me? If you look at it logically, none of it makes any sense. However, if you look at it from the context of mind and purpose, we can all be one if we all live the teachings of Jesus. As far as becoming a god, I look at it this way. Are you a father? Do you not try to teach your children all of the good things that you can so that they can become as good as you? Now I realize that we do not always set good examples for our children, but we all want the best for them. However, Jesus gave us the perfect example and wants us to follow that example to the best of our ability. We all fall short of that example, and that's why we need Him to be our Savior. Now imagine what He could teach us if we had eternity with Him to learn to be as He is without all of the temptation we face on this earth. Now let's look at Romans 8:17 and Hebrews 1:2. Romans 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. Hebrews 1:2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds. If Jesus is heir of all things and we are joint-heirs with Him, will we not also be heirs of all things? It is my prayer that you will follow James 1:5-6 and you will gain the understanding that you desire.

Grace can be defined as “God's favor toward the unworthy” or “God's benevolence on the undeserving.” In His grace, God is willing and His love is never limited, never conditional, and never uncertain. Even after most of us come to the Lord as our Savior, we still try to earn it by our works. Ephesians 2 : 8-9 says this: “For it is by grace -you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works so that no one can boast.” Faith is a gift. Not just any gift but, one we don't deserve. It's by God's grace we are saved. Roman's 3: 21-28 says: 21 But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22 This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood-to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished- 26 he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.27 Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. Because of what law? The law that requires works? No, because of the law that requires faith. 28 For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.

Revelation 22:18-19 is only referring to the Book of Revelation, not the Bible as a whole. I think this mythos of closed canon arose partly because of the impression given by having this be the last passage in the Bible. But a similar verse is also found proverbs, and another in Deuteronomy. So were the Sadducees right to only use the five Books of Moses? Of course not. There’s a difference between altering and adding to a book, and providing a separate book that corroborates it. It’s the difference between editing security camera footage, and providing eye witness testimony alongside the footage. People forget that the books in the Bible are not organized in chronological order. Believe it or not, John himself added to those words in revelationwhen he wrote the Book of John, which he wrote AFTER the Revelation of John. And this is how the Gospel of John ends: John 21:25 “And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.” It seems even John supports additional books like the Book of Mormon. The Bible isn’t one book. It’s a collection of books. And the Book of Mormon is just more books for that collection. Imagine the effect it would have had on history if John’s invitation for more books was the last passage in the Bible instead of Revelation? Now everyone thinks the collection is complete, when John himself didn’t believe that.

When John is writing here, there is no concept of canon. Just a bunch of random unconnected books people have written about events. Here’s the timeline: 1. Doctrinally significant events happen. 2. A bunch of people begin independently writing down and retelling some those events. 3. An angel gives John a specific revelation and tells John to write it down. 4. John also begins writing about the events of point 1, some he witnessed himself, some he got from the people in point 2. 5. John admits that while he made just one book about some of the events of point 1, there are so many said events worth writing about that there could be enough books written about them to fill the world. 6. Over 400 years later, people collect a lot of the writings in point 2, including points 3-5, though there are many writings in point 2 that weren’t collected. They arbitrarily compile some of that collection into the New Testament and discard others. 7. Over 1,000 years after point 6, people start saying that all the doctrinally significant events significant enough to write about have already been written about, and that the ones that can be found in this compilation called the Bible are only ones worth learning from, and there can be no others. 8. Joseph Smith is told to translate the Book of Mormon, a book detailing doctrinally significant events in the Americas between 600 BC and 400 AD that God commanded the people there to write about so that he could give that record to people today to read and learn about as an authoritative source of God’s teachings. 9. The people in point 7 say that the book in point 8 is blasphemy because John said in point 3 not to misquote the things the angel told him to write.

Couple thoughts…help me out here. 1) I think Christians have a bit of mystery similar to the Mormon levels of exaltation when it comes to heavenly rewards. We know we are saved by faith, but we will have rewards and exaltation in Heaven based on our deeds on earth. Some will be rulers and some not. We don’t know what our rewards will be, some will get more and some less. It’s not levels of closeness to God, but it is a mystery to us how much reward we will get. 2) I would say that historic orthodox Christianity is based on sola Scriptura. If you add to the Scripture teachings about God/Jesus or laws that the Bible doesn’t teach, then you are no longer a Christian, you’re a different religion. The issue we have in society is that everyone wants to be a Christian, but they aren’t willing to settle for orthodox Christianity, they want to make their own God and Jesus and still claim Christianity. They need to just own the fact that they have their own different religion.
@ChildOfTheOneTrueAlmightyGod

@ChildOfTheOneTrueAlmightyGod
@@michaelnicholas5587 That seems right…to you, a human being. That’s why God sent the Holy Spirit to help us understand His word. We must remember that God knows our hearts. If someone wants to know God and the truth with his whole heart, God guides him to the truth. Man condemns himself to hell by hearing the truth of the gospel and then rejecting Jesus Christ. It doesn’t say anywhere in the Bible that people are sent to hell for misunderstanding the Bible. There are many doctrines in God’s word that Christians disagree on, and that’s okay for non-salvation based doctrine, like when the rapture will occur. But on the absolute most important doctrines of the word, we must fall in line with the truth. We must believe in the one true God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. We MUST believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of almighty God who was born of a virgin and lived a perfect sinless life, died a horrible death that WE deserved, was buried according to scriptures, and arose on the third day also according to scriptures as King of kings and Lord of lords! If we don’t believe that (which is the gospel) with our whole hearts, we will damn ourselves to suffer God’s wrath forever. God is love. Hence why He gave us the chance to get into heaven and be with Him for eternity. But He is first and foremost holy, just, and righteous. There MUST be justice for the sins we commit. Jesus Christ Himself died to give us the chance to have Him suffer God’s wrath in our places. It was the reason why He came, to give us the chance to stay OUT OF HELL! If you don’t accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you are telling God that you will suffer His wrath for yourself. And that’s exactly what will happen. The Bible is everything that God wants us to know and everything that we need in order to understand God and the way things really are. If you’re not with Jesus Christ, you are against Him. And I’d NEVER want to be in the horrible position of being against almighty God! There are only two possible outcomes for what will happen to us when we die. Heaven or hell, period. Everything else is a lie. And the ONLY way that we can get to heaven is through Jesus Christ. He said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life; and no one comes to the Father except through Me.” So, there aren’t millions of ways into heaven. And , regardless of what anyone wants to believe, there’s absolutely nothing that we can do to help to save ourselves! Nothing! Jesus did it all, but we must accept that. All religions accept true Christianity are lies. Catholicism, Mormonism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Jehovahs Witnesses, paganism, atheism, satanism, Wiccans, spiritualism, Islam, and everything else are created by satan in order to confuse and mislead us all into damnation because he hates God and he hates us. There’s no such thing as purgatory, reincarnation, annihilation, becoming one with the universe, etc. No one can stay on earth as ghosts, you will immediately go to where your decisions have led you to spend your afterlife. Do not be deceived. Satan is busy, and he is an expert at having people damn themselves. If you want to know the truth, ask God to show you.

It's too bad this guy doesn't even know what the Gospel is. Grace through FAITH. Faith worketh by love. What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he have faith, and have not works? Can faith save him? Seest thou how WORKS wrought with his faith, and by WORKS was his faith made perfect? Ye see then how that by WORKS a man is justified, and not by faith only. If ye love me KEEP my commandments. He that hath my commandments, and KEEPETH them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. He that loveth not knoweth not God, for God is love. If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food. And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it have not WORKS is dead, being alone. So what is the Gospel taught by Peter and Paul? See what Peter tells the first converts in Acts chapter 2, when they asked "Men and Brethren, what must we do?" Peter said "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you will receive the Holy Ghost. And this promise is to you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call." That would include every person today. But it didn't end with their baptism, "And they continued stedfastly in the Apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers." And Paul describes the Gospel "Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith towards God, Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgement." And this is just what Paul calls The first principals of the Oracles of God and also the Milk for new babes in Christ, not yet ready for the Meat of the Gospel. Yet all other churches spew out this Milk in exchange for man made baby formula, with the Trinity added, and the Priesthood and Revelations taken out, to make it "healthier" and easier to digest. They reject the Gospel taught by Peter and Paul in the Bible.

When Christ died on the cross, He said ‘it is finished.” By saying that, He was claiming that there is nothing else that we can do to attain salvation - He took on the death sentence we deserved and no additional work that we conduct can contribute to our righteousness. In short, we would never choose to pursue God given our fallen and wicked nature. Knowing that we were incapable of this, God, from eternity past, had predestined to save some as an act of grace. Without Him doing this, all would be led astray and separate from Him as scripture teaches that no one is good, not one. Finally, one similarity in the Old Testament helped me to understand this doctrine. I used to think that election was unfair and that this doctrine unfairly favoured some and not others. But, in fact, given that we are all deserving of eternal damnation, God’s willingness to save some is an act of unfathomable grace. In the Old Testament, God had set apart His chosen people (Israel) not because of their good works or their obedience (the Old Testament makes this abundantly evident), but because of His divine sovereignty and will to set apart this group of people. Likewise, His new covenant people have been chosen by God as a gift of grace and while this may be uncomfortable to non-believers, their rejection or acceptance of the gospel is ultimately ordained by the Father, who has chosen or not chosen them from eternity past based on His will and authority. Before responding, I urge you to read the following verses as I’d love to hear what your thoughts are on these: Acts 13:48, Romans 9:11-16, Ephesians 1:5-14!

Apologia misunderstand Isaiah 40-46 but they frequently quote Isaiah 43:10 as though that’s God declaring that there never will be any other gods in existence rather than that he is the only God for Israel and was not one of the idols formed out of wood, metal or stone that they were worshipping. The plurality of gods and men becoming gods is very much taught in the Bible; Deuteronomy 10:17, Joshua 22:22, Psalms 82:1, Psalms 82:6, Psalms 136:2, Daniel 11:36, Matthew 5:48, John 10:34, Acts 17:29, Romans 8:17, 1 Corinthians 8:5,6. 2 Corinthians 3:18, Galatians 4:7, Ephesians 4:13, Philippians 2:5,6, 1 John 3:2, Revelation 3:21.

I have often heard from anti mormons and other religions such as apologia about one of the reasons that Joseph Smith was a false prophet was due to all his different accounts of the first vision and how each account is not the same. Therefore, because of this, they dismissed him as a true prophet. Well, do these people dismiss the apostles paul as a true prophet? Are they aware that Paul gave 3 different accounts of his heavenly vision on the road to damascus. And guess what, each account was different. Example: acts 9: 3-20( pauls account to luke) pay close attention to verse 7; "HEARING A VOICE BUT SEEING NO MAN OR LIGHT) acts 22: 6-9 pauls second account of his heavenly vision: (THEY THAT WERE WITH ME, SAW INDEED THE LIGHT, BUT THEY HEARD NOT THE VOICE) now, what a minute!!! Chapter 9 says, hearing a voice but seeing no man, no light....and chapter 22 says, saw indeed the light but heard not the voice. Hmmmm. Acts 26 is pauls third account of his heavenly vision, and guess what folks, it is different from the previous two. So are we to dismiss Paul and call him false and a fraud? Wake up, people !!! You don't even understand your own Bible. It's really sad and pathetic. Apologia is so sad and pathetic in their false claims.

Deuteronomy 18:22: "When a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him." You say Joseph Smith is a false prophet because the the building of the temple at Far West didn't happen in "this generation". The Lord, talking to his disciples in Matthew 24 also said regarding the second coming: "And he send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other. Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened." Well if the Lord meant his current disciples' generation, he was a false prophet according to Deuteronomy 18:22.. But what if what if he meant a future generation. That's what he meant by the way. Ergo, isn't it possible to interpret Joseph's "this generation" as a future one as well. Furthermore, under your interpretation of Deuteronomy 18:22, we would have to label Ezekiel, Isaiah and David as false prophets and teachers because things they prophesied failed to come to pass. We know Isaiah, for example, was a true prophet. Jesus even quotes Isaiah 61: "The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me", etc. Ezekiel had a failed, so called, prophecy in Ezekiel 29: "So I will make the land of Egypt a desolation in the midst of desolated lands, and her cities, in the midst of cities that are laid waste, will be desolate for forty years and I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations", etc. This never happened according to historians. Also in Isaiah 13 he prophesies against the Babylonians. He said that the Medes would slay men, women and children and that Babylon would "be as when God overthew Sodom and Gomorrah. It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation.". In 529 BC, Cyrus, king of the Medes and Persians, took Babylon without bloodshed. It remained inhabited for centuries afterward. So this prophecy failed too. There are many other examples, like Moses and Jeremiah. Just because a prophet gets it wrong sometimes doesn't mean he's not a prophet. Don't get sucked in by their lazy arguments. The Bible is way more complex than their single verse "gotchas!"

@@jasonmears4393 you added "Light" the text does not say that. It says "they saw no man but heard a voice". In 22 it says "they saw the light but did not understand the voice". Mybe check the English Greek interlinear to see because that verse had translation problems. I won't fault you for that. In 26 it just says the same as 22 but does not say anything regarding the voice but the other men saw the light as they fell down. So what is the contradiction in these passages. Giving elaborate information does not mean they contradict. Just like how the 4 gospel are all true but give the message from different perspectives. Thats not the same with JS . Let us not forget how he falsely translated the book of the dead as the book of Abraham. Claiming them to have been written by Abraham himself but carbon dating and scholars proved this false as the scrolls where dated at least 2nd century BC. How can we trust that man. Even mormon scholars from BYU agreed that JS falsely translated the book of the dead as the book of Abraham

@@claytonbarrett8984 in mat 24 i think you can see that he talks about 3 things from just the plain reading of the text. He was talking about the destruction of the temple, the signs of his coming and the end of the age. The destruction of the temple happened in 70ad that is the same generation of the disciples. You wld agree? And as we know the signs of the end times and of his coming have not occured yet and did not occur during the apostles time so how could we just conclude that he meant that generation. Therefore JESUS did not issue a false prophecy or make a mistake as u seem to imply. Joseph Smith prophecy on the temple he claimed that generation in the 1800 even early mormon leaders believed that generation eg pres H Kimball (25yrs latter), E Smith (1857), pres Kimball again in 1861, G.A Simth in the same year 1861, George Cannon 1864, O. Pratt 1870 in 71, 74 and 75. In 1890 edition of the doctrines of covenant page 289 said the generation won't pass untill 100 years. So thats upto 1932. And in 1935 Joseph fielding smith said that there where at least a number of pple who where still alive in that generation and had full confidence that the church would be built (pg270 of the way to perfection, salt lake city). Finally after 140 the church then agreed that it was a false prophecy (J.F. Smith answers to the gospel vol 4 p 112). Therefore smith failed the test. Even the d&c 1 :37-39 says the test of a prophet is that his prophecy must come true. Joseph also prophesied in 1838 on one of the 12 apostles to go on a mission next spring but alas dude died 3 months latter in October that same year. Man or man i could go on but this is just enough

Or it could simply be the false presuppositions of Trinitarians that cause scripture to apparently contradict itself that way. .... For instance, in context is it really "no other G/gods" period that God doesn't know. Or he doesn't know any of the other idol G/gods of the nations they manufacturered and kept misleading his people to wrongfully worship and serve? And if the grammar of the final clause of Jn. 1:1 may be rendered as "and the Word was a god." Where Jesus Christ as "the Son of God" is "a god" in heaven who certainly "knows" God the Father in the same way that all the angelic "sons of God" are actually called "gods" in scripture know the Father as well (Psa. 8:5; 97:7; 138:1 -- "elohim", "gods"). And lastly since the first portion of Jn. 1:1 contains no mention "eternal", but is again wrongly read into it by Trinitarians. "In the beginning was the Word ..." may simply mean that Christ along with the rest of the angels for that matter, were already in existence at the start of the physical universe (cf. Job 38:7). Not that they existed from eternity into the past. ... Therefore, removing the unbiblical Trinitarian assumptions, there are no actual contradictions at all in scripture when alternatively understood this way.

@@ChildOfTheOneTrueAlmightyGod Well that's rather hypocritical of you given you seem to be worrying about me and LDS.. and isn't that what Jeff is worried about? It's written Jesus hated hypocrites. I have read the Bible.. I have studied it well, in it's HISTORICAL context.. You should try that sometime, and maybe you'll understand that the Gospel that Jeff and Calvinist preach is NOT the Gospel of Christ, but of the adversary. When you take Calvinism doctrines to their logical conclusions, they make Love an Impossibility, and they fundamentally anti-God.. I mean it really begs a question why Calvinists even try to evangelize LDS, given their TULIP doctrines are pretty explicit that one's salvation is predestined and there is NOTHING you can do to effect it.. If your saved, your saved no matter what you do, and if your not saved , there nothing that will change that outcome, no matter what you do. So why evangelize, if you believe nothing you do or say will change outcome? Personally, I think we see many Calvinist attack the LDS faith because the LDS faith is very much akin to Arminianism , and since the Synod of Dort, Calvinism and Arminianism have been theological enemies.. but I also think there is a psychological issue at play.. Cognitive dissonance. This happens when someone is emotionally connected to a belief system, and when they are presented with something that their cognitive brain recognizes something doesn't square emotional beliefs.. this causes dissonance. It's a common text book symptom of Cognitive dissonance, that instead of adjusting ones emotionally held beliefs, they attack that which challenges it. So as LDS, or Arminianism, or any other theological beliefs illuminates the bankrupt nature of Calvinism theology, their reaction is to attack.. with any means possible.. Historically the means employed by Calvinists and John Calvin himself was to execute (burn a live at the stake) their opposition in the name of Jesus. Its written Calvin oversaw the murder of 53 people for not agreeing with his beliefs. And subsequently, the puritans and other Calvinist based groups murdered hundreds of thousands in the name of Christ.

It fascinates me how these Christians believe they are fully saved, and yet, in virtually every instance, the apostles in the New Testament are writing letters to and preaching to BELIEVERS (aka to people that have already accepted Jesus) Why mention anything about sin, repentance, baptism, forgiveness, commandments, expectations , duties, roles, salvation, responsibilities, etc to audiences of believers, if they are all already saved? Why do the apostles write letters to BELIEVERS in different cities and address topics such as faith? Why do the apostles speak of enduring to the end? It fascinates me how so many Christians define the gospel according to their conveniences, rather than God’s will. The verse says “If you love me, keep my commandments”. Not a single person reading this has kept the commandments tomorrow, because we are living in today. When tomorrow comes, Jesus expects us to love him by keeping his commandments. When the day after tomorrow comes, Jesus expects us to keep his commandments. In a year from now, Jesus expects us to keep his commandments. This is why the apostles stressed enduring to the end. Because ANYONE can fall away, aka lose their salvation. Don’t take my word for it, read chapter after chapter of the New Testament.

@@michaelnicholas5587 I agree with you 100%. All of these people say that the “Mormons” aren’t saved, and yet, they presumably believe in the innocence of children. Since a small child is pure and innocent and is taught within the LDS church about Jesus, then all of these apologia people should be encouraging the LDS church, rather than fighting it, because, by their own standards and beliefs, an innocent child, who is taught about Jesus and loves him, is therefore “saved” according to his or her innocent faith. A child cannot understand the nuances of a godhead, but if Apologia presumes that the love that a child feels from God due to his or her young, pure faith is invalid, then I feel like they (apologia) needs to reevaluate their own beliefs. According to Apologia, everyone that sincerely believes in Jesus is saved. Therefore, every young and innocent child that believes in Jesus is saved. This, by their own definition and belief, makes the LDS one of the largest groups that “saves” people on the planet.
