While in Seattle, Washington this past week-we were excited to finally put a face to the voice that so many in the post- and progressive-Mormon world have come to know-by interviewing the host of the Radio Free Mormon podcast of the family of Mormon Discussions podcasts. While we still do not disclose his name, we are confident that after this 7-hour journey with "RFM," you will come away with an accurate depiction of the man behind some of the most informative and entertaining podcasts in the Mormon community.
Broadcasting behind Enemy lines, Radio Free Mormon tackles the difficult subjects in Mormonism like no one else. Dissecting things like a surgeon, RFM gets to the crux of the issue, exposing all the connections and subtleties that lie below the surface. His unique sense of humor, his knowledge of Mormonism, his displaying of the data. If you haven’t yet listened, you likely could use some Radio Free Mormon in your life.

I think the part of the conversation where RFM and Dr. Dehlin talk about growing up without religion really shows the difference in the mindset between how people raised in “The Church” and non-members, specifically people who are areligious view the world growing up.

Just wondering.... reading the BOM, were mushrooms involved? ;) Kidding. Looking forward to exploring your podcast. Loved the Book of Abraham episodes. Huge thumbs up to all of you - or in the way of the ancient egyptians - huge male member up? haaaaaaaaaaa That was so blissfully ironic.

To have an in-depth understanding of Astrology from a scholarly, historical and factual view point - check out The Astrology Pod Cast with scholar Chris Brennan. I am not an astrologer but I have a new respect for this discipline.

John, the Beloved (you are a most beloved John), I’ve heard you talk several times about what you surmise the situation to be in “third world countries” and it is not the most nuanced way of talking about us and our motivations regarding joining Mormonism. I can’t talk for *all* people in *all* developing nations, so I use “us” loosely and with respect as well! But, I hope that in time more of your guests are people from the Mormon “diaspora” so that it can all be better understood by listeners of the podcast. I fully understand that when you talk about it, you say “My impression is...” and you’re not saying it’s gospel. But, I do feel uncomfortable for the impression given to be, “People who have less, don’t have education, don’t have access join the church/are susceptible to joining the church in third world countries.” There’s *so* much more to our stories. Much love. x

Why do you still wear a mask? There's conclusive proff that they didn't help at all in Covid. Please don't believe the narrative of the satanic elites, they're all about controlling us!

Actually Mormonism does believe in the "Trinity" of sorts, as all the old Trinitarian verbiage like, "Godhead", "God the Son" "fully God and fully man" etc are all derived from the doctrine of the Trinity as it evolved in the 4th and 5th centuries. In the late 4th century, one of the famous Cappadocian fathers acknowledged that "many of the wise among us believe the Holy Spirit to be a power, and others unsure as the scriptures are unclear on this subject." As consensus did not exist on the Holy Spirit then, it is clear that Mormonism's Triadic doctrine was founded upon the Trinity as it was understood in the 19th century and therefore was not a "restoration" of primitive Christianity.

Actually, NO, mormonism is definitely NOT trinitarian. The best you might say is that the "Church of Christ (Temple Lot)" is the only mormon faction of the "restoration" that is even close to being trinitarian. LDS mormonism (from a Christian standpoint) is heretical; definitely NOT trinitarian. Whem Joseph Smith and Sydney Rigdon began mormonism they were in the beginning trinitarian; however, as time progressed up through 1844, when Joseph Smith Jr was murdered in Carthage Il, Joseph Smith became progressively polytheistic. The BOM is (for the most part) trinitarian; however, the D&C and the PoGP are both heavily polytheistic-- as well, the "final version" of the first vision story is definitely NON trinitarian-- definitely polytheistic.

I just started listening to R. F. Mormon, and his podcast is excellent. I’m hoping he has become an atheist, but the most important thing is that he realizes the Mormon church is false. I too have Mormon family members, and love them, so I try to separate beliefs from the person, but their beliefs are not off limits for discussion or debate. I expect my atheist views are subject to criticism too. I have Mormon relatives in the Washington/Oregon area, and R. F. looks familiar, but it may be that he resembles an actor I can't think the name of. I will trade my voice for R. F.’s any time he wants to switch.
