Birthdays are a special time, and for one lucky lady it was one big celebration! Locomotive K163, built in 1941, celebrated 75 years of operating by running a gala on the Mornington Railway over the weekend of March 19 and 20 2016.
Many trains were run, and many exhibits from both the railway and other organisations, as were a number of Trundle runs on the Saturday where the public could pay to drive either K163 or T411 for a short return distance.
This film documents the trains of that weekend, and shows the hard work and dedication the volunteers of the Mornington Railway Preservation Society, who keep these historic locomotives and rollingstock in a fine operable condition, as well as the railway between Moorooduc and Mornington.
