This locomotive was in v/line livery and on standard gauge in the late 80s early nineties railing Ford cars on the car wagons to sydney

Great job they did, looks like new. What camera did you film with? Looks more black than dark blue in many scenes. Maybe it was repainted by Richmond supporters? Nice classic VR carriages add to the yesteryear mood, loco sounds good too, classic EMD. Excellent video, well done and thank you.

Don't you think the locomotive will look better with the short end facing forward ? The driver will get a better view of the track ahead .

built to lead long end. more comfortable long end. you have to sit sideways short end which i never found comfortable. cheers ex driver.

The engine looks lovely BUT if you wanted to capture the 60's where is the grime, the rust stains and the overall look of being derelict. THAT was what stood out in my mind of the normal services of the 1960's.
