Always loved this one. It sounds even better live and there a nice little reversal in the audience participation parts live. When Moz sings the line “this is the last song I will ever sing” the audience shout “no” and “boo” and after the line “I’ve changed my mind again” everyone cheers.
Morrissey will always impress. "this is the last song I will every sing, oh no ive changed my mind again". I know he has a huge following but he is still underrated. I saw him front row in the late 90s. the man is a legend. Appreciate you listening to the song.
ahahahhahaha love your reactions.......it's aorable to see your enthusiasm over a track I have liked for decades now...it feels like I am listening to the song for the first time....I was looking forward to your reactions at the end , witht he crowd cheering when he sings that will be the last song he would ever sing...and you really lived up to it! ahahaahahah. It's funny though how I never really thought it like how soon is now?...but, yes spot on...it is just when Moz starts his voval melodies that you see it is a whole different song. it's pure genius...a metasong ending. What haven't you heard yet? I'd love to see you do "lifeguard sleeping, girl drowning" and " lifeguard on duty" back to back (in that order) on the same video. I'm sure you will be even more than taken aback.
Well Johnny Marr did nick the riff for How Soon is Now? off Bo Diddley in the first place so it's only fair that Stephen Street re-use it for this tune. Great great song, a mere b-side incredibly, as was How Soon is Now? Baffling. Most bands would sell their souls to have singles this good. Andrew Paresi was a fantastic drummer, the Viva Hate/Bona Drag band in fact were probably the most technically gifted group of musicians Morrissey has ever worked with.
This is one of my favorites. I can't wait for you to get around to Hairdresser on Fire, and Frankly Mr. Shankly. They are some of the best examples of Morrissey's cutting humor.
Every day of the week I just wait in anticipation for Morrissey fridays 😂😂 You should definitely check out « What kind of People Live in These Houses? » from his most recent album. It’s a classic Moz song with jangly guitars and witty lyrics! One of his best in a few years imo
Disappointed is a perfect closing song to an awesome album. I’m not really concerned that it’s a compilation, Bona Drag is amazing. Any of these songs from World Peace, please: World peace is none of your business, I am not a man, staircase at the University, kick the bride down the aisle, the bull fighter dies. They’re really edgy.
