Reptile was considered the ‘weakest’ fighter due to how slow his projectiles were. My baby brother would own the cabinet as Reptile, pissing a lot of ‘Reptile’ haters off. He had amazing matches back then. I mained Sub-Zero, and after many coin rotations, I was next in line to play my brother (who had a 5 kill win streak going). He was hard to play. Lol I won in the end with Sub-Zero’s floor ice, uppercut and slide combo. Subby was barely alive by the end , though!
Creating the acid ball just a second before Smoke does a get over here, so he won’t have enough time to avoid it, and you can punch him which adds extra damage, clever.
I see you basically trigger the same AI move that works when playing with the other ninja guys, jumping back so they jump towards you. But the spear - forceball thing you pull off against Scorpion, Smoke and Noob-Saibot is just hilarious!
That sound comes from Mortal Kombat 1, when you got hit by an uppercut or freeze on air by Sub Zero, “people on the background” say “Oooh!”. Greetings!
In the actual arcade version of both 3.1 and Challenger Hack, you can't do that jumpkick trick against Kintaro. Kintaro will black then grab you out of the air like Geese Howard
That was the one flaw with MKII. No matter the difficulty, the CPU would fight in a certain pattern so once you figured it out, you could easily repeat the same moves and win rounds. I recall that for the last 2 opponents before Kintaro, you just had to jump kick, jump back and duck their special and just repeat that.
oh of course because one uppercut into a pool of acid is never enough lol i have this game too and usually i get challenged by Noob or Kintaro first. They always kill me
When I was a kid, I sent in an idea for Noob Saibot for MK3. You know how Reptile can make himself invisible? My idea was for Noob Saibot to make the entire screen black.

AmAxel35 You're right. I mean cmon, apart from the obvious perma-fatalitie in the acid pool, its kinda explicited the way he throw his acid ball in concern that when the AI always react with a skillshot after they been hitted by a uppercut.
If you're being serious, it has to do with the memory limitations. The technology at the time was not advanced enough to support moves for every single fighter. That's why Mortal Kombat 2 only had about 10 characters, otherwise it would have 30.
The original MK trilogy of games are notorious for "copy and paste" characters, (Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Noob Saibot, Reptile, Ermac, Smoke, Rain and the female ninjas Kitana, Jade, Milenna). This was a quick way for developer and motion capture artists to quickly film the moves for one character wihile a graphic artist would simply alter the color of the outfit. It had nothing to do with memory limitations they simply could make more characters quickly without spending extra time and money. Street Fighter II Turbo had 12 characters- all with different moves and animations. That game used sprites so each individual frame had to be drawn and animated for hundreds of frames per character.

you are forgetting that back in MK II theese two characters were more like spoilers and eastereggs than full characters (same as Jade with kitana's fans)
Daralyndk that goes same with UMK3 as Cyber smoke using a similar move from scorpion's chain attack as Ninja Smoke still uses Scorpion's chain attack still saying "GET OVER HERE!!!!"
still in time of MK II I was a wee little kid, and now when I see this walktrough it is weird full of ? characters, Shang Tsung and kintaro at the beginning is this some kind of unlockable cheat or feat?
mean I've found something on the net, but informations are not very understandable for someone who played this game once as a kid and didn't uderstood story back then
