I Remember playing this game with my brother in the early 2000s. It looked modern to us back then. It was crazy fun

This is hands down the most hilarious MK I've ever played. When playing 2 on 2, at the moment when a character defeatss the other character he suddenly explodes into blood pixels and sometimes there is just its head off showing on the screen.

One of my all time favorites. Remember playing this when I was 7 years old. (Plus in my opinion, the best character select music in the entire series)

Sorry, but I gotta disagree with you GStar. I thought MK9 was awesome and it did a wonderful job of reviving the series IMO. Especially after that dreadful piece of crap game: MKvsDC Universe.

Unfortunately we don't get that cool intro on the n64 version. We get some stupid scene of raiden talking.

Raiden's hammer was my favourite weapon in the game. Why? You can hit the opponent against the screen. lol.

I'm not sure why there's a lot of negativity surrounding this game. Its my favorite after mk2. It was so cool to see cut scenes back in the day as well. I always loved doing the bone breaker move! Highly underrated

I think we can all agree mk4 while fun was riddled with flaws, but I’m sure we can all agree that the announcer was awesome

Mk9 was decent but mkx has made me fall in love with this series all over again. I'm 32, so I go back with this franchise since the early arcade days with mk1.

I was never a big MK player but I happened to buy this one when it came out. I absolutely loved MK4. I played the shit out of this game. Think I knew like 80% of all the fatalities from characters.

I always thought shinnok was a shit boss, every time I would get passed Goro I knew it would be a cakewalk to clearing the game.

Goro doesn't look quite as intimidating as he did in MK1

According to me, this game stands out from other mortal kombat versions in one aspect only which is the ability to come up with a wide variety of creative combos. While the combos in other versions are limited to a certain sequence to every character, this game provides you with the ability to chain combos with special moves as long as you understand how the combo system works.

My favorite gAme of thee ENTIRE franchise!

We were playing this with my brother on PC back then using one keyboard, and my brother always pressed so many keys at once that my keys didn`t worked. :)

Reiko is underrated but if he returns in 12 you just know hes gonna be overpowered af 😂

I thought mortal kombat 9 that came out in 2011, was WAY better than Deadly alliance, Deception and Armageddon.

Loved this game as a kid. I also played the shit out of Shaolin Monks and Armageddon back in the day. This one was by far my favorite. Last one I played was MK9 for the 360

I never really had much to say about MK4. I always preferred MK2, UMK3 and Deception tbh. But I will say this MK4 had some good stages.

The last MK game to be made for a cartridge. Can't get more classic than that. After this point on all MK games turned into CDs and mainly for Xbox or PS. I'm so glad NRS gone back to poke at Nintendo. So nice to be able to play MK games again. I'm not hating PS and Xbox... I just had years of bad experiences with these consoles... they never lasted more than a year or two at my household. I'm use to playing hours on end for days at a time and PS/XBox systems can't handle that. Nintendo was the only company that seems to understand hardcore gamers more so. I was finally able to beat Skyrim fully the other day using the Switch., after years trying to with other systems. All other platforms overheated or stop working completely. :( I wish people stop bad mouthing Nintendo. That company out lasted most other companies for a reason. They brought back the gaming industry from total extinction and it is still going strong. That deserves some merit and appreciation. Majority of my favorite games are for the SNES. ...so MK3 and Super Mario World will always be my favs. Even to this day SNES still works as if right out of the box.

MK 9 was awesome. Maybe it's a nostalgia thing. In which case I can understand the unpopular opinion of it not being liked but it was very well-received and consolidated MK as the no.1 fighting title.

The sidestep in and out of the background is what makes this game 3d if it didn't have it then it would be 2d like the other games

This was the best MK at the time (the 90s). Before MK9, Deception was my favorite straight to console MK. MK9 is one of the best fighters ever - it is the best in the series overall.

Funny how Goro is harder than Shinnok in this game but it's the total opposite in MKX

I have this game on N64, and it is great. Probably not the best by any means, but still a good addition to the series for it's time. In GStar's defence though, I believe in one of his videos, I forget which one. But, I believe it is his MK9 video, he mentioned something to the effect of that he had originally did not like the game. But, it had grown on him and I think he likes the game now... Great videos GStar, keep it up man :)

Their 2d arenas in mk11 are ass compared to other games and tbh I prefer the 3d arena's a lot more, their way more interesting in design and tend to make you feel less like your in a small box fighting IMO
