I’ve heard that he was originally going to be the main villain in the scrapped Mortal Kombat 3 movie. Though I have no idea what they were going to do with him considering most of his deal involves Shinnock and they butcher him in this movie.

You know what’s a travesty? The modern MK franchise can license characters like Robocop, Terminator, and Freddy Krueger but they can’t won’t make Siro canon!

Fun Fact: they initially wanted Michael Jai White to play Jax in this movie but he refused to be in Spawn. Talk about dodging the bullet just to be ran over by a train. However, he will play Jax in both MK Rebirth and MK Legacy so it kinda came full circle.

Yeah. Rain was one of my favorite game characters at the time. Sucked to see him killed, though. Then again...this entire movie was awful and I saw it in the theaters. That's $6.50 I'm never getting back...or maybe it was $5.50...I don't recall, but either way, I lost out on that money. lol Jade was also a favorite character for me game wise. Her combos were more fun to do with that staff of hers.

Raiden is mortal. The elder gods lied to him. Fujin is Raiden's TRUE brother. Bi Han and Kuai Liang should take more action than just simply 2 minutes of fight. Jade was supposed to be Kitana's bodyguard, no Shao Kahn's follower. Scorpion WAS supposed to be an anti-hero instead of again, a villain. Liu Kang is a fire bender, he does NOT need his animality to defeat Shao Kahn. Shao Kahn has NO animality. Kung Lao never shows up. Milenna could've fought agaisn't Kitana but NOOOO, she gets killed by Sonya. Sindel was never dead. Shao Kahn is just a human. Rain dies without any fight. Johnny dies in the first 6-7 minutes. Why Ermac has Noob Saibot? Cyrax and Smoke, but NOT SEKTOR?! Jaxx still has his normal arms. Sheeva and Motaro kept fighting each other. Shinnok came without any introduction. Scorpion and Sub-Zero's epic rivalry is the core of a good story for Mortal Kombat fans. Why did we needed two reptiles? The extreme amount of flips was unnecesary. Raiden and Reptile were dance fighting instead of make ACTUAL fighting. Did Liu Kang ever used his fire power in this film at all, he used it agaisnt Shang Tsung so WHY NOT NOW??

Robin Shou was the only good thing

Well yeah Motaro and most of those characters are from 3. They pretty much just skipped over MK2 lore.

The first movie technically was MK1 and 2 combined. I mean they cover how the tournament start and how Liu Kang and Kung Lao I mean Johnny Cage enter Outworld to rescue Sonya and Kano (if he's still alive) and actually win the tournament. So yeah the first movie covers MK 1 and 2 whereas Annihilation covers MK3 and maybe a little of 4 had they not cut Quan Chi out. Quan Chi was gonna appear in the cliffhanger scene where they show Shinnok being banish to the Netherealm but since they don't had any plan for a sequel that part was not included.

When you watch this as a child, it's easy to overlook how many cameos they had in this movie. I didn't even know that old man was Shinnok until like... just NOW. Lol. They probably went back and decided that will be Cetrion. She doesn't have a name in the credits.
