I LOVE the way Morten gets a little uncomfortable during interviews. He always tries to be sincere to his own values, thoughts and ideas. He stays true to his believes , it's this that makes him come across uncomfortable sometimes. Honest to himself! Such gorgeousness...
Apart from the very important fact that Norwegian fish have balls and Morten's take on fame we learn something else here from this likable young Norwegian man. He tells us something like "we invented ... the cheese plane". Earlier I didn't give much thought to who he meant by "we". But earlier today I happened to learn that this handy, silvery tool that is used to make thin slices of cheese was actually invented by a Norwegian. Who'd have thought?!
I found this cheese in my local grocery store where they have a specialty international cheese section and bought some if it on a whim. You really do need a cheese plane or at least one of those wire cheese slicers, it is good but definitely a thin piece is best, and it's not really one you would just eat pieces of cut up, it needs fruit or crackers/toast or something like that.
When Morten Harket was young he was so joyful, so charming, so happy. Something broke at a time ; is it fame which was too heavy. So sad for him. Any way, he is Unique, as are A-ha songs, and all songs by Morten, Pal and Magne on their own.
I love his humble way of not asking the stupid question about idolization he said it's very shallow... As young as he is his brains are way over this dude's head 🙃🙏
Great to see that he was a classy guy even back then. I hope they will soon publish his autobiography in English, so as many people as possible can read it. I have just read it in German. It is highly interesting. And it explains why he could handle fame so well back then.
Wondering, too. There seems to be a Portuguese version now because of all the Brazilian fans. But what about all the other fans? I love how he writes about those crazy early a-ha years so objectively. About the fan craziness, the paparazzi, all the downsides of such fame. But also how he apparently accepts things as they are by understanding why they are this way. His childhood; he was such an unusual, interesting guy. Alas, also a victim of bullying. You guys should start a fan petition or something like that for an English version. I never was a huge a-ha fan, although I like a lot of their stuff, but I always admired Morten's voice and singing. This book gave me lots of respect for Morten as a human being.
@ Sylvia H- Since I commented her I have been able to read the book! I found out that the Kindle has a Translate Feature so I bought the German Kindle version and I was able to translate it into English, You can essentially so only a page at a time but it did the job, Really great book, he needs to write part 2.
Morten Harket, and young David Cassidy, from 1970-1974, are the most breathtakingingly, gorgeous men that I have ever seen on this planet, EVER!!! And so funny, so smart, such beautiful voices; it just takes my breath away, and makes me faint!.....Morten is adorably cute, with his sense of humor, and so intelligent, WOW!!!!
That was such a cool interview. Always loved the song "take on me" but never really took the time to research the band. I knew they were Norwegian which is why I was interested in them being that my ancestors came from Norway.
+Jeffrey Bue Where you from Jeffery as A-ha had many hit singles and albums all over the world, Except in the US where they had 2 hit singles- Take on me + Sun always shines on TV and a hit album:Hunting high and low
Yeah, +Jeffrey Bue, if you research more about A-ha you'll find out they have many wonderful songs in the ten albuns they've recorded and a story of huge success all around the world until now. And I'm sure you will also love many other of their songs! :)
I don't think he wanted to be treated as a poster boy for Norway. Imagine going on a chat show in another country as a British pop star, and they bring out a plate of fish and chips and various foods associated with the UK and ask you to explain it. It's kind of inappropriate - He should be asking Morten about music and allowing him to talk about topics he wants to talk about.
I think his calmness and cool is a pretty clever strategy. You'll notice he talks a lot more in Norwegian interviews, and in his last english interviews he doesn't care that much about speaking well. They probably agreed that he should say as little as possible back in the 80s, seeing as he's not a native english speaker.
+Oliver M. Canstree They probably agreed that he should say as little as possible back in the 80s, seeing as he's not a native english speaker. That is a silly comment he can speak English fluently and so can Pal and Mags.......I have seen him speak Norwegian in some interviews but more so in English in UK and in French,Germany, Sweden etc
I think if anyone said he should say as little as possible, which I don't necessarily agree with, it would be more because he tends to ramble and go off on tangents at times.
@@danielledredger4030 this is what a Norwegian comedian did, or there may have been several, when «parody-ing» him. Going off talking about the old greeks or Romans and their visdom etc. Poetic stuff. Lol. He is such a charming guy.
Yup, he's a traditional guy, well brought up, unlike those crazy pop stars who chew off live bird heads on stage. The whole band (A-ha) was traditional and non-controversial. They lacked notoriety, so people forgot them :(...
They're not forgotten! Pre pandemic.they had a (supposed to be) one-night concert in Dubai but due to demands (sold out immediately), they had to do another night. They just fill up arenas and stadiums! They hold the Guinness Book of Records for the most.number of paying audiences at 198,000 people! ❤️
Sono 40 anni che fanno ottima Musica, nessuno può dimenticare le loro canzoni o la sua Voce. Nel 2022 è uscito il loro 11° album " True North ": bellissimo, da ascoltare con calma,la sera.😊
So I'm on BBC two now Telling Terry Wogan how I made it and What I made is unclear now But his deference is and his laughter is My words and smile are so easy now Yes, it's easy now Yes, it's easy now
What a lazy crap interview by Wogan who tellingly said he should have stayed on radio as he didn't really have any interest in most of his TV show guests. It shows.
38 years later still idolised sorry if you don't agree Morten 😂 your a stud muffin and I've got sore ribs so trying not to laugh at this was excruciatingly funny ❤ ❤
I love the way he says it's not very healthy... He probably doesn't want to taste all that crap because it doesn't make you pretty or healthy LOL and he's intelligent enough to KNOW THAT 😅
I forgot how rubbish Wogan was at interviewing people. I wish it was Parkinson interviewing him instead. He didn't go on the show to talk about Norwegian food and culture :?
Don't you think they should get someone who looks like Morten? lol j/k but not really I don't think Andrew looks anything like Morten. :P I would imagine Scott Eastwood, for example, but I'm just not sure he could pull off the accent.
