I've been crocheting for over 50 years and still learning new things. The little "jogs" wouldn't bother me one little bit. Absolutely hate weaving in tails. Thanks for showing this to us. ❤
They're lovely Robin and who's not gonna love not having a million ends to sew in? Ok so there maybe wouldn't be a million but it feels like it when you have to do it 😭😂
Just started to crochet. I will definitely be carrying my yarn up. It is so well explained like all your videos. Thank you for all your help with my crochet journey.🥰
I have always struggled with the moss stitch. It seems easy with the most basic of stitches, but invariably always puckers or pulls or the chain spaces are hard to identify in the first few rows. I appreciate the ‘slowness’ and attention to detail in your tutorial. You have given me renewed hope! I might finally be convinced that moss stitch isn’t the worst stitch in the world! Thank you x
This is beautiful! You explained how to do this pattern so easily and definitely worth carrying the yarn to avoid the ends. Just started a blanket using this tutorial and I am in love 💕
I’m new to crochet & all your videos are so helpful. I am a long time knitter & I love being able to change & carry colors easily WITHOUT weaving a million ends -- these squares are beautiful.
This way is so much better than having dozens of tails to weave in. Thank you so much for sharing your way of dealing with yarn tails. It’s a beautiful project. 💜🙏🏻
I'm going to make the squares just as you have done. I've been crocheting for 23 years and enjoy discovering new wats and designs. This pattern of the moss stitch my favorite stitch by the way is beautiful. Wonderfully done thank you for your time showing us all this beautiful square.bim going to use it to make a blanket for a great grand baby. Again thank you.
I love this stitch. I think I'll use one solid colour and use up my scraps for my second colour. There's just so many possibilities. Thank you for this video.
Robin, I just found your channel today and I am so glad. I absolutely ❤ how you explain the directions and take the time to show us exactly what you mean. I will definitely be trying the new way of changing colors as that looks so much simpler than the old way. Thank you so much Robin!!!!
This is gorgeous and so easy. Except I'd start with a 2 loop Magic Ring. Once pulled tight, and remembering that the yarn is already going around the centre twice, just cut off the tail. No weaving in necessary. I'd also finish with an invisible join, but that's just aesthetics.
Thank you. I've been obsessed with the moss stich this year I never knew I could do a square I also love you use stich markers some people say they help but never use them in their tutorials. You now have given me a cool idea for a cowl. I would definitely carry the yarn ❤
Looks great & I totally understand fellow crocheters not wanting all the ends. However, I'm one of the weirdos that weave as I go & enjoy it. I know...🤪🧶 I LOVE your tutorials, Robin. It feels like I'm sitting down beside a friend who's gently teaching me.
I really like and appreciate all of your clear and so helpful videos. Thank you. Also no horrible jarring and annoying music that ruins so many other available tutorials.
Thank you. I really like the pattern and the denseness of the fabric - smaller spaces/ holes. I’ll be using this pattern for some squares in a sampler Afghan. It can be made larger easily. Would be nice for a cushion. So many ideas.
Hi Robin I was watching creative grandma and her grandson Cody and Cody was showing off some items that he had made from your videos so I deciwd to drop by and boy was Cody right you explain things very well and make it very easily to follow along so I looked at some of your videos and liked what saw so I subscribe to your Channel can wait to get started on a projects. Thank you
Can't wait to try this. Thanks for a great tutorial as always, I've tried so many new stitches by following your lead as I find it hard to read patterns but easier to watch and copy ❤
I LOVE the look of alternating linen stitch. Looks much more complicated than it actually is since you get those vertical lines! I started a hexagon cardigan like this, but now I don’t think I remember exactly how I did my color transitions each row since I was making it up at the time. 😅
Robin.....what jogs?😉 I avoid projects that have a gazillion tails to weave in like the plague! However....in your ever so patient way, you never fail to provide a handy dandy video like this. Though I confess at Row 1-2....I was ready to deep six my phone😂❣️❣️
@@HookedbyRobin i ended up making three coasters, using three colors total (two for each coaster). green, deep wine, and mustard yellow. they came out AMAZING! 😁
I love making infinite granny square blankets and this looks great, I'll have to try it, thank you. I personally like to always put an extra slip stitch in the first round to end up in the corner and from then on always turn on the corner, I wonder how the carrying the yarn would work out with that?
I just started making this from your video. I'm loving it!!! I made a couple of adjustments though....I started with a double magic circle and I'm changing colours in the corner. I'm also not turning every round. It's there a reason why you turn every round?.
Beautiful work and tutorial once again. I'm only at rnd 2, but I can't wait any longer 😂😂!! Am I correct in assuming that if you don't want to change colour, you just ignore the colour change part and carry on? Ooooh also, lush colour on your nails ❤❤.xx
Concerning stitch markers: I work my slip stitch in without removing the marker. It helps me to not lose my place, plus it gives me a little leverage to get into the last stitch. Then I remove the marker after making the stitch.
Lovely pattern and an upgrade to the granny square. How large can you go with this? Will it be good for a tv throw? I also liked the demonstration yarn but you didn’t mention it on your side information panel. Can you please tell me Robin…many thanks 🧶🧶 Maria
I have a traditional granny square with a similar method of carrying up the yarn here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XfuX_mjfUh8.htmlsi=GW-diDxzvvd37yXG 😀
Another wonderful tutorial! I love the moss stitch. While I was watching I thought “why not just keep going and make one large square for a blanket?” What do you all think?
Long time fan, infrequent commenter, and I have a quick question. This seems like it would possibly be easier with a magic ring for the beginning? Is there a specific reason you went with a slip stitch start? Thanks so much! 😊
They are lovely. Quick question if I may. I am trying to crochet a cat's tail in " the cat in the window Afghan". It is a grey background and the tail is black. The tail is one stitch in thickness and the pattern moves the tail over by one stich every few rows. For some reason I have gaps in that the black tail is broken up by the background colour and I have tried everything. Any ideas? Hope this makes sense.
Could you make a video with a solid moss granny stitch? I feel like it gets hard to follow if you wanna do one color, it’s hard to tell what’s part of the actual square and what’s part of the color change.
So it kinda like a.granny square but with singke crochet. I hate weaving in so i always carry my yarn when i do multi coloured stuff.thanks for the pattetn might try it
I really like this pattern but to be honest I would not crochet it if I had to sew all the tails in. I say "love those jogs". I really enjoyed this tutorial.
