Adding in the “weezer bad” people and the people that obsessive over the buddy holly lick felt so gratifying, I hate both of those kinds of people lmao
Kind of funny all the "types of people" are just judgey people who think they know more about the correct way to enjoy music and thats exactly how you come across in these videos
"Deuce like, made Hollywood Undead. So you can't like Hollywood Undead if you like Danny. Besides he sounds like a girl!" "Okay but don't you know how problematic Deuce is? Besides he's naisily. Danny REALLY knows how to sing." I LIKE BOTH
Avenged Sevenfold fans and the cult around the Rev for real, man. I get he was a great drummer and carried a lot more weight than that, but they won't even let you suggest you enjoy the new guy more lol.
"What's your favorite song" is so hard to answer because I feel like if you listen to a lot of music you're less likely to have an answer. And if I had to pick one on the spot I'd maybe say like Sunglasses by BCNR, but there's no way the person asking knows that so I might as well have read an ancient Greek poem to them. So do I just say a song people know??
i think sunglasses is a good answer because while it’s not top 40 popular, it’s still a pretty popular and accessible song (at least the album version is) so even if they don’t know it already, they probably won’t be completely turned off if they look it up.
@@DomP001Same, I don't understand much about what specific characteristics a song requires to be place in specific genre, only the vague idea that I like energetic music. It is kinda ignorant, but after seeing people argue online about whether a song is something-core or not, I decided that ignorance is bliss in this case. Btw I suggest that you look up the artists behind your favourite OSTs and check out their other stuff. You can find some hidden gems and other media that the artist have worked on.
People who exclusively listen to older music and try to act like they’re superior to everyone else and constantly call any music released after the 90s as “not real music” are completely insufferable. These people need to stop acting like it’s a big deal to prefer older music over new music and just simply enjoy what they like, without acting like a complete dick about it.
I'm not pretending like music in some period of time is better, just in 90% of time I prefer 80s, 90s metal sound and atmosphere, so this is what I like.
@@danielflanard8274 What fucking drives me up the wall is that there are still bands making music that's heavily influenced by those older bands they absolutely worship.
Really? You're excluding the fifth member of Tally Hall? You can't just pretend that they weren't an essential part of the band just because you don't like something they did. I mean, what did Bora Karaca even do to offend you? @@ShenDoodles
I'm genuinely sorry for what you've gone through, you're so brave for speaking up. More people need to take a stand against Anthony Fantano fans and their sinful ways.
"What do you mean you don't care about the lyrics? What do you mean you like music?" I hate that some people cease to understand that I literally like MUSIC. I don't listen to sad music because it's relatable, it's just well made and usually has a skilled vocalist.
Yes and I can't stand when people insist you can't really get music unless you read/listen to the lyrics. Not that there are no lyrics that have had some impact, but most times I'm going to feel way more just because of the actual music. Just people who think there's one right way to enjoy music are the worst.
@@TheWrathAbove Not to mention how fucking insulting that is to the millions of people throughout history who have dedicated their lives to playing instruments and composing.
THANK YOU!!! I listen to Sufjan Stevens because I actually enjoy what his music sounds like. His lyrics are a bonus. I hate when people assume I just listen for lyrics and ignore the rest because they personally don’t find it interesting.
I have never really interacted with the metal community before, but you have, can you tell me how they would probably react to metal songs where main vocalist is a synth? Like, Hatsune Miku.
I call things what they are is. If metal - metal, if not metal - not metal. Nothing wrong with it. And don't understand me wrong, I don't annoy people with elitism.
The bane of my existance, gatekeepers. "Oh Gost isn't metal" "Van Canto isn't metal" shut up and let me listen to my favourite bands, the Van Canto one is even more hilarious. In lyrical context, music videos and song structure you can definitely say that they are power metal but people get upset about calling them metal because of their lack of guitars. For anyone that does not know Van Canto they are acapella metal, they have a drummer and 7 singers as of their latest album who knows if Sly (lead male vocalist) sticks around or if Hagen (also lead male vocalist) stays the lead vocalist.
@@ShenDoodles Obviously he probably wasn't the first ever to make that joke, but he helped popularize it and gave his own spin on it, so of course a lot of people are gonna associate it with him
I had an 45 year old man tell me Primus sold out and got too political when they released their most recent EP, because it’s making fun of right wing conspiracy theorists. As if they didn’t have any songs criticizing conservative America back in the day, same as Green Day
Too Many Puppies, Sathington Willoughy, Sgt Baker, American Life (kinda), Welcome to This World, Wounded Knee (look up the history behind Tim Alexander’s inspiration), The Return of Sathington Willoughby, Electric Uncle Sam (kinda vague but also a conservative icon), The Pilcher’s Squad, Eternal Consumption Engine (in regard to free trade bills signed by Clinton, a Democrat but conservative), The entire Desaturating Seven album if you consider gluttony an attribute of conservatives (which I do.)
I once saw a thread of conservatives on Twitter complain about how Rage Against the Machine has turned political and it was the funniest thing ever They literally said “Now its Rage WITH the machine 😡😡” Like..were they listening to them before with their ears plugged..?
Sounds like you made someone up to get mad at, like most of Twitter does lol Rage Against the Machine didn't turn political, they just conveniently stopped Raging Against the Machine as soon as the Machine was Blue instead of Red. That's almost always what the conservatives are calling them out for: being hypocrites that support the establishment whenever it's convenient to them.
As I've commented in the last video, here's a pro-tip: If one of your friends tells you that he "listens to everything", put on a K-Pop or Taylor Swift song. It really reveals his true colors.
Usually the kind of people who say they listen to every genre only say that because they are unaware of the scope of music available. What they probably actually mean to say is that they will listen to almost anything that plays on the radio. For those people, they most likely would enjoy kpop or Taylor Swift.
A music person I cannot stand are people who comment “I’m a metal head but I love this song” on any song that isn’t metal it’s basically just them saying “just so you people know I’m very sophisticated and better than you but I deem this song suitable for the common folk”
I've always thought that they're basically saying the song is awesome regardless of whatever other music they listen to, and that anyone can appreciate the somg
When the "Separate the art and the artist" guy and the "that guy is controversial so his music is bad" guy when they both got kidnapped by a mexican cartel 🤯🤯🤯
I think Schlatt doesn’t really hate the band, he just doesn’t find the memes funny. I could be wrong on that though. I do know he has Beverly Hills in one of his Spotify playlists though lmao
The guy trying to make liking pop music an edgy statement is the most annoying music person. "You don't like Ariana Grande or Taylor Swift? Erm, cring."
I usually try not to assume anything about people based on their tastes, but I've always said that if someone genuinely thinks Eminem is the best rapper of all time, they've got to be at least a TINY bit racist
@@NotFunctional-ever Oh yeah right that one too. Although to be honest, even though that shows up more often the gatekeepiness of the crying one is what makes it so much more blood boiling
like. I’ve listened to the full six and a half hours of EatEoT (non-consecutively, I split it between the first three stages and final three stages) and, while I did get emotional, I wasn’t crying by any means. and that was an entire six hour experience. a three minute song isn’t going to do anything.
@@NotFunctional-everor "Like if you're not from Tiktok" on every single random song and somehow people are still gullible enough to make it the most liked comment on all those songs
Hope the next one has the “Eww, this song is trying so hard to be deep! It must be made by high school dropouts who don’t know how to write lyrics” and “If you haven’t listened to the full six hours of EatEoT, you might as well only listen to pop” people.
Wait what’s wrong with listening to music with one headphone in? That just seems like they want to be able to hear what’s around them while also listening to music
C'mon man, that's cursed. Headphones are not supposed to be used like that and it's neither comfortable nor good for the headphones themselves. Earbuds are a different story, thought.
@BillyCobbOfficial lucky for me, my earbuds collapse tracks to mono when only one is out if the case. I have another pair of much higher quality headphones for when I really want to listen, though
@@BillyCobbOfficialthe whole video is making fun of people who say you’re listening to music wrong, and now you’re saying they’re listening to music wrong. I get what you’re saying in that the music is designed to be listened in stereo, but if that person wants to be able to hear the world around them, then clearly they aren’t looking to be very immersed in the music anyway, so they probably just wanted light background vibes and wouldn’t pay much attention to the stereo effects even if they could hear them. Or maybe they’re listening to a podcast and the stereo vs mono thing doesn’t even matter at all lmao. You don’t know the situation. I for one like to use one earbud so I can listen to a podcast while still being able to hear the Panera worker call my name when my food is ready :P
The “I was born in the wrong generation” people (I was that person for the longest time, for at least middle and high school). Anything from the 60s-90s and nothing else after.
I love this style of video i have no idea why. reminds me of like AVGN or something like that, just something incredibly old. I have no idea what im saying im just putting things in a comment
I think it’s the lack of much context or long explanations. As well as the throttling 8bit game music in the background, a great trait of classic RU-vid
@@AnnoyingOrange420 It feels like a 2014 stereotypes kinda video or something like that, just dogging on whatever. I swear it reminds me so much of AVGN or something like that, or those old reviewers who wanted to be nostalgia critic lol
OOOOOKKKKKK, I just like the deep messages behind the songs okay man? I mean its not a requirement, but I still enjoy a good reflecting session that was brought onto me by music lyrics and vibes.
I am kinda tired of ppl hating on the heavy metal comunity, ik some ppl there (specially some men and edgy kids who are needed for validation) are very toxic and can be assholes but istg most ppl who listen to heavy metal are pretty chill and nice:c
Is it so terrible to get excited at the prospect of someone else acknowledging a somewhat niche thing that you also happen to enjoy? That being said, I noticed your comment said "Tally Hall." Is that a Tally Hall reference!?
I've learned to be humble about my music tastes, my music taste is an eclectic blend of Christian rock bands from the 70s-90s, I've learned that in order to seem cool you also need to be humble and not say "MUSIC FROM LATER THAN 2002 ISNT REAL MUSIC!
The what does this song mean guy hits hard. because I used to believe almost every song that wasnt just up beat, was a super serious song written by the artist after they went though an experience. I was was wrong, the artist probably pulled versus out of a hat
man that "you don't understand, he made graduation" one was way too true. i hate kanye as a person but graduation's probably one of the best rap albums i've ever heard
The Pitchfork one is funny because one of my favourite albums got absolutely eviscerated by Pitchfork (TMBG's Mink Car) and if I know I'm talking to a Pitchfork Guy I'll make a point of recommending it.
