Holy crap! Hey guys, it's the Joe from the newest of Jerseys here again, thanks for randomly choosing my letter! Me and my fellow Joe (spelt the same) really appreciate it!
As someone who lives very close to Culpeper, VA, it was... bizarre to hear James and Mason talk about it for so long. Maybe we can let them think that there’s actually things to do there.... it’s better than the truth. 😂
Just binge read Invincible over the last 5 days from all your guys constant recommendations and it is easily the best comic I've ever read, and one of the best stories in any media I've ever seen. It's so fucking good
I've been subscribed for years but this is the first time that I've actually checked how many subscribers the weekly planet has. I am amazed that it isn't more than 100k. This deserves to be over a mil easy.
Zack synder be like I always intended the movie to be a quarter 3d and black and white and a quarter interactive and half in Japanese but the studio wouldn't let me but now I can show u my true vision
I loved last man on earth. One of the only newer tv shows that I would actually watch on tv as it aired. I was super bummed when it was canceled. Will Forte is awesome!
The Wheel of time was finished by Brandon Sanderson after the untimely passing of Robert Jordan from cancer. Sanderson finished the series with assistance from Jordan's editor and wife Harriot Mcdougal. Sanderson received an extensive collection of Jordan's notes on the series and it's future books from Harriot including many chapters that were pre written, including the finale. The completed series is Jordan's vision, in spite of being finished by another author. Also, that author was Brandon mfkn Sanderson. All this to say that this isn't a Game of Thrones, Benioff & Weiss situation. The series was written by two of the most influential fantasy writers of the past 30 years. The show is recieving consultation from Harriet, Brandon, and book experts. The show runner is a giant Wheel of Time nerd. The budget is unreal, the cast is incredible. There's a lot to be excited about. Fingers crossed.
The problem with Game of Thrones was the show runners got too big for their boots and decided they wanted to move on to big well-paying gigs rather than to actually take the time to finish the series properly. That, and they clearly actually didn't understand why any of the subversions worked or what anyone actually liked about any of the characters, so when they didn't have books to draw from it just revealed how lucky they'd gotten to have control of such strong material to start with. ANd then the irony was that because they fucked it up so badly nobody wants them to pilot their franchises anymore. WoT is 100% in a better situation than this! Fingers crossed the showrunners don't get so full of themselves that they blow up a beloved franchise to try and cash in on their success XD
Like Ernest? I didn't make it that far yet. No shame but can I ask how old you are and where you're from. I find it fascinating how we're just gonna lose track of such influential people in the future, its kinda scary.
It was maybe 2 seconds of this podcast but Station 11 is easily my most hyped show for this year. I read the book for a Dystopian Literature class a few semesters back and holy fucking shit was it amazing. It's a little freaky because it's a pandemic based apocalypse however it's a deeply engaging novel. It's not just The Road which is pure bleakness and darkness. This novel has some real shit to think about, to mull over, to digest and to dissect. I can't recommend this book enough and I really hope the show lives up to the novel.
I bet that rashomon thing was going to be deadpool telling a story of some wild adventure he had with Logan and then logans side of the story will just be that none of it ever happened.
It would be a normal movie of DP and Logan saving the world on a roadtrip and at the end it's revealed that they're doing an interview together and Logan just says they got lunch and came back
My favorite podcast besides this one is an Israeli podcast called "ma yesh be'ze" (what's in it) where one guy is telling the other a ridiculous true story (for example, mad jack churchill, phineas gage) and alot of the comedy comes from how the other guy reacts to the story. and anyway it was fun to hear two of my favorite podcasts sort of come together in this 1904 marathon story (which I already heard about, but makes me laugh everytime)
i'm obsessed with the weekly planet, buy which i mean i watch it, but i've also commissioned a short comic book about a little goat-kid who befriends a classmate with a full beard and together they have to best a bunch of sassy fencers and win the school report competition or something
When the Ahsoka tv shows comes out you should do the Thrawn Trilogy comic adaptation for caravan of garbage as it tells the first story of thrawn. I’d recommend you also read the books because they are better but the comic is still good and obviously you’d have the visual pictures for a video
We learned that Superman cannot reproduce with Lois in Mallrats, Jason Lee said that Supermans load would blast Lois like a shotgun. The only way he'd be able to make it with an earth woman is if he wore a kryptonite condom, which would kill him.
Hey, you. I have a favour to ask. Im debating my friend next weekend out Kung Fu Panda 2. I need to make a good case that the movie is good. Please, if anyone can help its you, The Weekly Planet listener.
How strong is your case already? Gary Oldman is the Villain, thats always a good thing. They also apparently used a realistic fighting style for whatever animal he is. A peacock? Jean-Claude Van Damme is also in it I think. As a crocodile maybe?
@@tristanstieber6499 i have faith in my case, but its in bits and pieces at the moment. I want to make the case that KFP2 is transformative to the character of po, and that it is an essential continuation of his character arc. As dragon warrior. Also the soundtrack for all 3 movies slap hard. But thats good, im definetly gonna look into the care put into the fighting styles!
I'm actually kinda excited to see what Buck Rogers looks like, I really hope they don't just go with the generic shiny white and glass Sci-Fi look and instead kinda lean into the quaaludes fueled colourful insanity of the 70s. I want reflective foil on the costumes, I want the incredible 60s/70s makeup and hair, I want weird cardboard looking headdresses nobody would ever actually wear by choice goddammit! Something tells me it's just gonna try to be like the more modern Star Trek films tho and that's a real shame.
@@jd1800 I know, right? I’m picturing the MCU scene where Hulk is flopping Loki around like a rag-doll. Bruce ain’t walking away from that! (Edit: the Wayne Bruce not the Banner Bruce)
Maso that cardigan you were going to buy but then did not infact buy, was not only a Harry Potter coloured cardigan but a Brisbane's lions the AFL team coloured cardigan, this you would know if you had been to a single football game in your life.
I'll be honest I skip the audio questions/letters. I gave them a chance... but I don't like them. Unless... you manage to convince the Aunty Donna boys to come and guest star on a rotating schedule to re-enact the audio questions/letters.... probably gonna keep skippin' them. Still love the pod, boys, but not a fan of the small change/addition.
