Louis helped her see the light and leave that oppressive hell hole. And that's why he's arguably the best in his field.

Louis was phenomenal in this clip. He totally caught them with the "vessels made for destruction"/predestination doctrine that the church believes vs the natural human affections the girls were feeling for these young men.

I genuinely believe Louis challenging the members of this cult helped some of the members escape. I believe Megan and most of the younger ones would've and will continue to have conflicting existential beliefs anyway, but to have an outsider challenge them in a non abusive and altruistic way really helped to pull themselves away from this horrid family. Louis Theroux, what a guy. And well done to Megan and the others that had the courage to leave!

So much I love about this exchange. Louis asking all the right questions, articulating himself with precision, giving an honest and frank description of what her thinks the interviewee is experiencing, along with his trademark humility The two vulture/gestapo sister/aunty combo circling the two and chiming in to make sure than nothing goes off track, especially with Megan. Megans clear interest in Pipijn. The dichotomy of Megans regular, healthy, adolescent feelings toward a boy she enjoys the company of and when the Church's Dogma Software starts running on her brain she really believes what she is saying. It's mainly when Louis toes the line between her two states of consciousness (reality and scripture), she realises she cant reconcile them easily enough and goes back to the tried and tested, repeated dogma. When the older woman starts talking about Kane and Abel as soon as she says "...kill her..." watch Megan's body language up until she starts speaking again. You can see he head tilt back and look straight up, get a little red in the face, look like shes holding back, when she turns to look at her it is not in confidence it is in embarrassment. From that moment until she starts talking again you can see she is thinking: "No no, you're going down an irrelevant path there that has nothing to do with the conversation and it makes us look stupid, I'm embarrassed for you and I have to nod along and agree with you because you're on my side, you actually don't understand the nuance of this difficult point" So she interjects as soon as possible to get back on point. Showing that she's much smarter than the older woman next to her. And as mentioned in other comments she recalls this conversation helping her to see the flaws in the arguments. She states in a podcast with Sam Harris that the story of Kane and Abel was really the main seed of doubt that grew into her apostasy. Her family is hovering over her like the thought police making sure she repeats everything exactly as she's had it imprinted on her. I wouldn't survive under that level of scrutiny. The way her mother looked at her after she admitted to having a picture of the guy made me feel so uneasy. I wouldn't be surprised if she brought it up after the camera was off.

Wow this is so interesting. I just finished watching her talk with Joe Rogan. Crazy how someone can just do a complete 180. Good for her.

Her internal monologue is saying the opposite of what she is saying to Louis. It's so obvious in her face. Glad she finally admitted who she was. Hope some more of her siblings free themselves from insanity. Awesome lady!

I love how Louis can build rapport but also be upfront with people. I believe he actually helped a lot of the young people get out of this church with his visits.

This was about a year before Megan left. It's so clear with that context that she understands what Louis is saying, she's hurt by what her family is telling her, and she just wants what's best for her friend. She can barely get out the overused talking points because she knows they're wrong.

Megan has such a nice warm personality It’s a shame she has been forsaken by her family, many parents wish their kids could be friendly and good hearted like her

The moment at 00:47 I find fascinating as for a brief moment, Louis is quite clearly pissed off but he knows this, then immediately backpedals on the metaphor to retain his diplomacy in his interviewing. He’s just the master

Release the entire documentary. These clips completely devalue Theroux's work and it's unfair that American audiences have no way to watch anything he does.

My favourite thing about the return visit by Louis was when the teenage cult girls were dancing with their hate-parody of pop songs, and one girl was wearing a Metro Station band t-shirt. One of Metro Stations most played songs is 'She Likes Girls' about a homosexual girl. Just shows how little idea these people actually have about the world. Minimal critical thinking and maximum hypocrisy.
